Evan Rachel Wood in Roland Mouret

Posted on December 13, 2011

Oh, thank Oprah.

Miss Evan Rachel has NOT forgotten how to look fierce as shit.

Evan Rachel Wood in Roland Mouret

Y’all voted her an IN yesterday, but we thought she looked kinda blah. But THIS, kittens; THIS is freaking fabulous. Check out the height on those heels. Miss Thing is gonna be paying for that in about 10 to 15 years, but she’s rocking the shit out of them right now.

And yes, her shoes, bag, nails, and lips all match the dress and each other. We wouldn’t want to see this become a thing, but we have to admit it works quite well here.

I find shoes like that grotesque. The dress is pretty, though.

    • Anonymous

Is she wearing sheer hose or is her skin that freakin perfect?

      • Sobaika Mirza

Her skin is that perfect. Bitch.

        • Anonymous

Yes, and I love how she doesn’t do the orange fake tan thing. She seems to embrace her creamy white skin and she rocks it!

          • Anonymous

Totally agree. It’s nice to see someone leaving well enough (or in her case, gorgeous) alone.

            • sara mclean

Saw her in person last week and her skin is decidedly NOT perfect.  She is really pale though.  And was canoodling wih Jamie Bell (the Billy Elliot).

        • Anonymous

people now like skin that looks like it’s the color of chalk?
it’s a serious question, i’m not trying to be mean. i couldnt be, my skin’s the same color. not as fancy, however. but it used to take a rather, um, special sort of person to find it attractive. i mean, i have been called albino to my very chalky face & albeeno [en español!] behind my very chalky back.

          • Sobaika Mirza

I don’t care either which way about her skin color. It’s that her skin itself it pretty perfect – no scars, it’s not dull or too red. It’s smooth and even and rich and creamy and glowy and ohmygodwhycan’tibethatperfect.

          • Anonymous

As a fellow pasty white girl (I hear Foreigner’s “Dirty White Boy” every time I say that) I hear you. As far as I can tell there are still plenty of people hating on very pale skin if it’s left au natural. I have read horribly mean comments regarding fair skinned celebs, so I think those that find very fair skin attractive are a very tiny minority. This is coming from someone whose legs would GLOW in the hot Florida sun. My friends always made sure to wear their shades when they went to the beach with me. The glare! For real.

            • http://twitter.com/applecocola Stacy

I’m the same too, I’m pretty sure I glow in pictures. Sometimes I will think that a little tan would be nice, but mostly Asian culture prefer pale skin over dark skin (because it means you don’t slave away in the rice fields for a living), and after seeing people who are orange with fake tan, I prefer my natural skin color over anything artificial.

            • Anonymous

Any attempts by me to tan over the years have only lead to extreme pinkness and freckles.  Have finally learned to embrace this and have taught my equally pale daughter the same.  In turn she has beautiful skin unmarred by years of sun abuse.  Pale girls must stick together!

            • Anonymous

Haha. I am blindingly-white-legs-girl. Kinda like a super hero no?

    • Linde Hoff

The guy behind her in the first picture is sure liking the outfit……

      • Anonymous

I think that’s Eli Roth, and he likes anything under 25, and especially anything under 20.

        • Sobaika Mirza

He skeeves me out so much.

      • http://magnetgirl.tumblr.com Anika

        It’s Eli Roth, yeah?

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_PMAPJYMO5AC6GMONR6NQFURAXE bebo

      beautiful

    • Anonymous

Fantastic.  I wouldn’t think I would like it and actually don’t love it on the model.  But, it looks great on her. I love how it brings out her fabulous figure.

    • Anonymous

Beautiful, but still not a huge fan of the hair. Gorgeous dress, though.

    • http://profiles.google.com/misslauraschultz Laura Schultz

Yep. Fierce. Shoes look good but I like the white ones on the runway better. Hate the hair, though. Fine for what it is, but I guess I just don’t like the style.

    • Anonymous

Very nice. I just wish she didn’t always have that “something smells” look on her face.

    • michelle abeln

i like the shorter length on the model, but i dig the shoes.

    • Sara__B

She’s developing a signature facial expression, as seen in both of these photos, that I don’t especially like, but her outfit is wonderful, especially against her flawless milky skin.

    • Anonymous

As you guys always point out, it’s all about the wearer and girlfriend is FIERCE.

    • http://aintbaroque.com/ Ain’t Baroque

Wait — someone actually LENGTHENED a dress?

      • MilaXX

I don’t think she lengthened it, but she’s not mode tall so if it’s a loner, she just didn’t hem it.

    • Anonymous

I don’t even like the dress on the model, but she looks absolutely fantastic.

    • Anonymous

Sorry, gents, but the shoes, purse, and dress don’t match. They’re close and, to me, that’s even worse than dead-on.

      • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1248212910 Jessie Melcher Brown

Could be your monitor – they look different on my PC than on my laptop.

    • Anonymous

I would say this is darn near a WERQ.

      • Anonymous

Working her Exit like a Radical Queen!

    • Anonymous

Finally!  A post with something that looks better on the actress than it does on the model!

      It’s been a few days.

    • Anonymous

actually, i’m not feeling this look. though she’s fabulous in general, this seems very “fourth of july at the tulip fair” to me.

    • http://twitter.com/The_Bugler Anna Daugherty

      I. Love. Her. Hair, clothes, everything.

    • Anonymous

Fantastic!  That is how it’s done!  Love the dress, love the longer length. The photo of her in the limo looks like Marlene Dietrich in the 30s.  Gorgeous!

      • Anonymous

I know! I saw the thumbnail that goes with the post and did a tiny mental gasp.

      • Warmheartedgirl Seattle

Thank you!  I was trying to figure out who she looked like – Marlene Dietrich!  Wowsa.

      • Anonymous

usually i would scoff at an old moviestar equation. but in this case yr right. wow. whoda thunk it.

      • Anonymous

usually i would scoff at an old moviestar equation. but in this case yr right. wow. whoda thunk it.

    • Anonymous

she looks fabuloso and she knows it.  she’s giving a little dita von teese here.  the runway model’s shoes are a total no-go with the dress.

    • http://magnetgirl.tumblr.com Anika

I want her shoes. I mean, I want her everything but I do love red shoes.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1326120071 Gaby Ripoll

I think matchy-matchy is ok when it’s on a base of at least two colors (especially when those two colors are primary). I don’t know what other color I would add to this. I think the textural differences of each of the reds sets them apart pretty well and keeps it from looking flat. It helps that these colors are rich as hell.

      • Anonymous

It also helps that she’s working a very vintage-y look. I feel like matchiness is more appropriate in that context.

    • Anonymous

      Those shoes are TO DIE.

    • Anonymous

That style and height of shoe goes so perfectly with the length of that hem.

    • Rand Ortega

ERW is just divine. Perfect at every turn. Is that Eli Roth behind her? God, I love him. If she has him too, I think I’ll kill myself.

    • Anonymous

      Beeeeautiful.

    • Mariah J

      WERQ

    • Anonymous

I like the length better on the model – however, since ERW does not appear as tall, I do think the combination of the length and the shoes, makes it work for her.

    • Anonymous

I’m not madly in love with the outfit, but I do rather like her ring!

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_EDI2DLE7DE3YPW2ONIHBWOVHMA ecallaw

Oooooo, you’re right, the matchy-matchy looks so GOOD here!

    • MilaXX

Nice to see she remembered how to accessorize.

    • Anonymous

She is WERQing that dress.  She looks far better than the model.  Those shoes are fab.  You go girl!

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Jessica-TallGirl-Freeman/1043623567 Jessica TallGirl Freeman

I have a slight obsession with red shoes.  I just found another pair I need.

    • Anonymous

      Girlfriend is FAB!!

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=811053804 Stacy Parker Cole

*saysinareallysmallvoice* I like matchy matchy / coordinated outfits.  *squeak*

    • Anonymous

I’m not crazy about the Colorforms stuck to this dress. I think the red effect could have been done more artfully. And it looks a little too long on ERW, just a couple of inches. Love the shoes.

    • Anonymous

Her shoes look like Jessica Rabbit’s. And I love it. She looks phenomenal, really working the dress, but my dogs are barking just looking at her tortured tooties (though she did remind me that I’m going to the ballet on Friday).

    • http://twitter.com/Nancer Nancer

That dress looks like someone slapped plastic applique’s on it and called it a day.

    • Anonymous

I covet those shoes. COVET. DESPERATELY.

    • Joyce VG

Dita Von Teese 2.0? She gives off that vibe to me from time to time.  Marilyn Manson has good taste.

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Emily-Smith/12431153 Emily Smith

She looks fantastic but my feet and ankles hurt just looking at her.

    • Anonymous

OK, but the dress could be shorter.

      • Anonymous

94 comments in, I was hoping someone had said that. Totally agree.

    • Anonymous

I didn’t vote her IN yesterday…but today I’ll give her a WERQ.  She looks fab!

    • Anonymous

      Why isn’t this a WERQ? :-)

    • Anonymous

I do like those sassy shoes and the dress in general, but the flower decals are reading a little cheap to me.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=49702581 Susan Bullard Mayer

      WANT the shoes!

    • Anonymous

I like that the shoes and clutch have a different texture (or ‘gleam’ if you will) than the red on the dress, so they’re reflecting light differently and in the same neighborhood but not overly matchy for me.

(of course I’m a late-80s early-90s heyday kind of girl…and hell, our socks matched our shirts!)

    • Anonymous

Love it. I like the length, it’s very mid-20th century. I’m so bored with knee length that I really like the longer lengths. And I have no problem at all with matchiness. But then I think generally I was born in the wrong era!

    • Anonymous

I keep getting a strong Dita von Teese vibe from her style choices.  Maybe its just the Marilyn Manson connection that has them forever linked in my mind.

    • Anonymous

      Perfect designer/actress match up.
She looks better than the model by quite a wide margin.

    • Anonymous

Now this is how you do it. I don’t even mind the matchy shoes. Blue might have been matchy/boring whereas at least the red shoes are matchy/fun.

    • http://www.facebook.com/raweiser Rachel Weiser

Giving ERW a “WERQ!” is kind of redundant, amirite? It’s sort of inherent in the name, yeah?

    • Anonymous

Fabulosity personified. She looks sort of Dietrich-esque in the pic where she’s sitting in the car.

    • Judy_J

Perfection.  Love it all.  She looks fabulous.

    • Anonymous

Sometimes I think she is the reincarnated Ginger Rogers, especially in the first photo.

Underneath the Contact paper appliques lies a beautiful dress that hugs her figure to great effect. I’d say she’s looking Fierce to the max.

    • Anonymous

      She deserves a WERQ.

    • Anonymous

Not loving the dress on the model, but she brings it off.  I also like the look on the face of the guy behind her in the first photo!

    • Anonymous

Fierce indeed! Just what I needed to cleanse my fashion palate today.

    • http://twitter.com/yankeefoxtrot Alex McGeagh

That last photo of her in the limo is so “You all got SERVED, bitches.”

‘Cuz we did. She is by far one of the best-dressed people on the red carpet, time and time again. I do love those shoes – though I’m not entirely digging the length of the hem of the dress on ERW – I like the proportions better on the model.

    • Anonymous

I MUST have those shoes.  In my closet. Right now.

    • Anonymous

      I NEED THAT DRESS.

And sky-high shiny red peep-toe was somehow the best footwear to go with.  Which I never thought I’d hear myself say (or watch myself type).

    • http://twitter.com/#!/Space_Kitty Space Kitty

Flawless!  Now *that* is how IN is done.

    • Anonymous

Those shoes make her foot, ankle and calf so elegant. So elegant.

    • http://cheekypinky.wordpress.com/ Rebecca

      FIERCE.

I want those shoes with a shameless sort of longing.

    • Anonymous

Is that Marlene Dietrich peering out of the car? Really old time movie star vibe.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_3AJ237ND3GAHDQJZ4TLCO4WLRA Emily

Love the look, love the dress, love the shoes.  She looks awesome.

    • Anonymous

Very solid IN.  I like the 40′s quality to the whole look.

    • http://twitter.com/mellafe natalia h

I really like the color of this dress. I’m guessing is blue? It looks a bit more purpleish in the last picture (on my screen)

    • Warmheartedgirl Seattle

Has she always been a blonde?  I seem to recall her having darker hair, which I liked much better than this bottle bleach job.  Otherwise, she looks fabulous and those shoes are killer.

    • Ebony Dawkins

      LOVE.

    • Anonymous

Dayum! Girl is freaking gorgeous. Just looking at those shoes makes my ankles hurt though.

    • Anonymous

She looks like a star. A classy star. Mucho love.

    • http://twitter.com/applecocola Stacy

So much fiercer than the model!

    • http://twitter.com/jennsaysmeow Fifi LaRoux

      LOVE HER!

    • Anonymous

I’ve been mistaking her for Kelly Osbourne in nearly every thumbnail I see of her lately.

    • M Carlson

I can’t believe she was ever with Marilyn Manson.

    • Anonymous

Love the retro feel of this dress and the shoes are awesome.  She looks gorgeous.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_OSYAJATXUH3QX7ZDDF52GXG4PU Janie R

I was going backwards in time from the Kloe K. shoe thing, and now I know the world is safe after all.

    • Anonymous

The dress is amazing on her.

    • Anonymous

      Damn girl.

      Also – why isn’t this a Werq?

    • Anonymous

      Blonde Von Teese

    • Anonymous

As you said, fierce as shit.

    • Anonymous

Stunning. And again: stunning. Once wasn’t enough.

    • Anonymous

She’s even looking at the camera like, “There, boys.  Feel better?”

    • http://profiles.google.com/thisiscelia Celia

      I NEEEEED this dress.

    • Anonymous

She is becoming one of my favorites.

    • http://vhanna26.typepad.com Vera

ERW look amazing, but I keep imaging Dita Von Teese in the same dress…

    • Anique Ashraf

Is it just me or does she give off a SERIOUS Marlene Dietrich vibe in the second picture? She should play her in a biopic.

    • Anonymous

Perfection. She kicked that model’s ass, up down and off the runway.
