Lady Gaga for Vanity Fair (NSFW)

Posted on November 29, 2011

Darlings, let’s close out International Skinny Blonde White Woman Day by shining a spotlight on the current biggest skinny blonde white woman around.

Lady Gaga featured in the January 2012 issue of Vanity Fair magazine photographed by Annie Leibovitz. Stylist: Nichola Formichetti. Fashion Director: Jessica Diehl.

“FROM HIGH FASHION TO NUDE!” Really now, Vanity Fair. Have a little dignity. Why not just splash “XXX GIRLS GIRLS GIRLS XXX” on the cover and be done with it?

Still, Steffi knows her way around a couture dress and a lens by now, so it’s a fun editorial. Even the NUDE!!!! picture is kind of interestingly posed (and she’s got a killer body on her), but we really have to, as queens of the first order, bow down for the “Hey Mr. Arnstein, here I am” shot, which is kind of genius.

It occurs to me that until the pic in the pink fur I never really had any idea what this chick looked like.  Clever way of being famous

      • http://profiles.google.com/ameliaheartsu Amelia Logan

Right, she is in so many photos of her wearing crazy clothes always with lots of make up or sunglasses. she could probably walk on the street in a hoodie and 90% of people would not recognize her face.

        • http://onionjam.tumblr.com SkipperJane

She’s Princess Amidala: Pop Star Edition!

      • http://inkblotphotography.blogspot.com/ Cate

She said in an interview that she does the crazy on purpose, as a way of directing the conversation about to a specific place. if we’re talking about her crazy clothing, we’re not asking about her personal life. it’s genius if you ask me.

        • Anonymous

SO true. She’s a concept, not a person, almost. Like, has anyone every really cared about her love life? NOPE.

          • Terence Ng

Apparently, as stated in her interview, she’s willing to talk about her love life, and to portray her love life as martyred by her fame–I mean–her “love for her fans”:

Lady Gaga gets candid with Vanity Fair about her history with relationships: “I have never felt truly cherished by a lover. I have an inability to know what happiness feels like with a man,” the singer tells contributing editor Lisa Robinson. “I say this honestly, and this is my new thing as of the past year: when I fight with someone I’m in a relationship with, I think, What would my fans think if they knew this was happening? How would they feel about my work and about me as a female if they knew I was allowing this to go on? And then I get out.”

God, the poor thing.  She’s such a saint. Let’s canonize her right now!Oh honey, what is it THIS time. Lord…

      • http://www.facebook.com/people/Amanda-Rose-Gilbert/706705146 Amanda Rose Gilbert

try watching an interview once in a while. She usually has something interesting to say.

        • http://profile.yahoo.com/X5A2WRP5FIJBFQW6U5CFNA6VFQ Raulita

yeah so many people only see the crazy clothes and the larger than life persona – immediately they write her off as a madonna wannabe or a talentless hack, but they refuse to dig deeper and listen to what she has to say
i used to hate her until my niece showed me a few of her acoustic performances and some of her interviews
she’s very eloquent and contrary to popular belief, it seems that she in fact runs the show and she isn’t some mindless robot like britney spears whose every move is either rehearsed or lip synced.

i also wonder why people bash her for being crazy with what she decides to wear, i mean she is an entertainer, isn’t it her job to make us stare and be entertained?

people shouldn’t write her off so quickly, shes probably the only one left in the pop mainstream landscape who actually has a brain

      • Anonymous

i think that is the best shot of her i’ve ever seen. she looks adorable, really.

    • Anonymous

      surprised Gaga wears fur.

      • Anonymous

Although why I should be surprised given the meat dress……

        • http://www.facebook.com/people/Amanda-Rose-Gilbert/706705146 Amanda Rose Gilbert

SHE’S ITALIAN! HER FAMILY IS ITALIAN, WHY WOULDN’T SHE???

      • Anonymous

        “Why? She wears MEAT?!”

        • Anonymous

That’s when she almost lost me forever. Meat dress. Beyond vulgar.

          • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1344922354 Eric Scheirer Stott

It got your attention, that was the whole point.

          • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_5KDTLDJA7ZBCPDP6HV4FZMJDII Indigo

right, she should have at least eaten it afterward! So insensitive to skinny starving models around the country :)

          • Terence Ng

Actually, I thought the meat dress made a very clear point, delineating when we feel animal products are appropriate and when they’re vulgar. It’s appropriate to eat meat, and wear leather and fur, but inappropriate to wear meat? Where does dried skin become okay and dried meat become vulgar?

            • Anonymous

Meat rots. That was ONE of the reasons I found it vulgar.

yeah people are still talking about it today so mission accomplished

    • Anonymous

I love her nose. I think it’s fantastic.

      • Anonymous

Strip away all of the costumes and fashion fussiness, she is a striking woman. Very unique and beautiful.

        • Anonymous

I think she’s a fairly unattractive woman. It’s one of the reasons I love her. It’s far more powerful to be a female pop star that isn’t resting on looks or sex appeal, and it’s one of the things that allows her the freedom to be Fashion with a capital F.

          • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=513945580 Megan Patterson

She’s not traditionally beautiful, but I wouldn’t go so far as to call her unattractive.

            • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1344922354 Eric Scheirer Stott

She’s like Streisand- a relatively plain woman who’s more glamorous than beautiful. I think she’s doing a fine job of it and still retains a sense of fun.

            • http://profiles.google.com/laura.jane.ogorman Laura O’Gorman

              I was JUST thinking Streisand.

          • Anonymous

I think she’s unattractive but striking… handsome? And genius for being famous for her looks in a way that is 99% under her control. I love how she can rock McQueen and Valentino hardcore.

Doesn’t hurt that she has some serious pipes on her.  Whatever anyone thinks of her, no one can deny that she can SAING.

            • Helen C

She writes her music too…  (and wrote music for celebrities even before she was one herself).

            • Terence Ng

That’s exactly why I respect Ke$ha, too! She writes all her own music and wrote for others before she became famous! She’s such a great artist!

              …..this just got awkward.

            • http://profile.yahoo.com/X5A2WRP5FIJBFQW6U5CFNA6VFQ Raulita

so gaga is pretentious for trying to inject some meaning into her music
whereas you praise kesha for being a dumba$$ (haha see what i did there)  party girl who drowns her voice in autotune? where is the logic in that?

            • Anonymous

Helen–I don’t count writing music as a strength for Lady Gaga. If she were GOOD at writing music, maybe…

            • http://profile.yahoo.com/X5A2WRP5FIJBFQW6U5CFNA6VFQ Raulita

              i dont think shes unattractive
sure shes not as good looking or as katy perry
              but no one is
gaga proves that you can be an average looking person by society’s standards and still look amazing
i also love that she doesnt give a flying f**k about what people say about her fashion sense

          • MilaXX

I don’t think she’s unattractive, it’s just she’s not model pretty. Killer body aside, outside of the costumes, wacky hair and makeup she’s pretty average. The fact that she WERQs the hell out of average looks makes her more attractive to me.

            • Anonymous

That’s exactly it. I find that her unconventional looks (at least in the world of the famous) actually make her beautiful, at least in my eyes. I would much rather look at her than another Barbie.

          • Terence Ng

            Not resting on sex appeal?

Like, the nakedness and brazen sexuality of Love Game and her entire first album was a testament to pure artistic creativity?

but shes not known for her sex appeal
shes got small boobs, a big nose, and large eyes
              not exactly katy perry

plus even if she did use her sex appeal to get ahead
it doesnt matter because shes a classically trained pianist and can turn her dance songs into awesome ballads and belt the crap outa them

        • Anonymous

I’d call her jolie-laide. Not beautiful per-se, but you can’t take your eyes off of her. I loved it in her Thanksgiving special when she was cooking, and she took off her coat mentioning, with a little wink that was both sly and excited, that it was Valentino Couture.

          • Anonymous

Jolie-laide is exactly right.  And while she can, from the right angle, pull off merely pretty while she’s young, she’ll have jolie-laide to work from her whole life, if she doesn’t give in to some of the looks-ruining surgery that some others have had done, in the mistaken belief that looking just like everyone else would be an improvement.  Somehow, I think Gaga will hold out, though.

            • Anonymous

Jolie-laide is so much better than jolie-jolie. In my book, the Jolie-laide Man Award goes to Gaspard Ulliel: http://gaspardulliel.net/photos/ – he’s imperfect perfect which is the best kind of perfect.

As for Gaga, I think her eyes are so beautiful they almost disqualify her from jolie-laide. I think a test of whether someone’s physically attractive or not is to ask yourself ‘how would I feel if I had to look like her?'; In Gaga’s case, I’d be cool with it.

            • http://profile.yahoo.com/X5A2WRP5FIJBFQW6U5CFNA6VFQ Raulita

the beauty is truly in the eyes of the beholder
you like her eyes? i really dont
i find her body is sexy as hell
and that she has a nice and sincere smile

        • Anonymous

She makes me think of an exotic bird, fierce and fragile at the same time.

    • http://twitter.com/anacedillo Ana Cedillo

my favorites are: the cover picture where she is smiling and looks radiant in red, and the one where she is covered in fur, her face looks lovely and she almost looks human.
the nudey one is wow too, but not my fav.

      • Anonymous

The nude one calls a lot of attention to her ribs.

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Kelsey-Albrecht/100001647200441 Kelsey Albrecht

      Love her :)

    • http://twitter.com/glastea Coralie

The nude one makes me want to feed her lots of cake. I like the others, though.

      • Anonymous

Though despite the jutting ribs, it’s nice to see she’s got some healthy Italian hips and thighs.  It’s like you know exactly where all that cake would disproportionately land if you did force feed her.  I soooo relate!

        • Anonymous

I hope her thighs are really that lovely.  In the Bad Romance video, her legs are skinny, too.  I hope this means she’s eating!

          • Anonymous

I don’t know.  I think her legs always look skinnier in her videos than when you see her performing on TV.  I suspect some technical mischief…

            • Pinup Ghoul

Absolutely. Photos from live appearances, especially when she’s wearing a very revealing garment, show that she has very shapely thighs and butt. She’s never looked unhealthy to me in RC photos, just slender and very lovely.

            • Anonymous

Absolutely, have you ever seen a Nicki Minaj video (not that I’m recommending them)? The girl looks super tight and buff but IRL she’s got very, very full hips and thighs. Her body looks completely different on the video. Probably the same with Gaga.

        • Anonymous

Yup, me too. I am pear-shaped, but I also have this weirdly giant ribcage. At a perfectly healthy weight (sadly, not right now), my ribs are definitely visible, particularly if I stretch like that. Still got plenty of body fat, just not around my ribs.

          • http://profiles.google.com/ameliaheartsu Amelia Logan

lol you mean you’re an hour glass :D

            • Anonymous

              Well, on a good day.

Also, when I was younger and forming a lot of my self-image I was way into horseback riding, so I had a really muscular lower body. It was a sort of artificial pear shape that only started to go away years after I gave up the sport, and I was so disoriented re: new body shape that I kind of ignored it.

          • Anonymous

You know, it’s kind of fascinating the great variety women have in weight distribution, isn’t it?  There’s the hour-glass, the pear shape, the “potatoes on sticks,” and whatever the top-heavy opposite is of pear shape (does it have something to do with a prow of a ship?).  It’s like men pretty much put it in their stomachs…much less interesting!

But for those of us old enough to remember Valerie Harper as Mary Tyler Moore’s sidekick, there was a bit she did where she looked disgustingly at a piece of chocolate she was about to plop in her mouth:  “Why am I eating this?  I should just apply it directly to my thighs.”  And we all have that spot where we know we should just go ahead and place the chocolate….

            • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_5KDTLDJA7ZBCPDP6HV4FZMJDII Indigo

               just their stomachs?

*is broad shouldered and big hipped* :I hmmmmmmmmmmm

            • Anonymous

I can assure you that men put weight in other places as well. My husband just had to have his wedding band upsized 4 sizes, and his wrists have no taper anymore.

            • Anonymous

LOL, yeah, I know.  A bit of hyperbole there.  I should just say that in general there seems to be less variation, and if men show their weight disproportionately in one area, it’s more likely to be their stomachs.  Occasionally you do see a pear-shaped man.  And the “broad shouldered and big hipped” category in the comment above I guess qualifies as an hourglass, so there you go!

            • Anonymous

You’re pretty much right about the belly. My guy looks as if he’s about 5 or 10 years pregnant, and it took a while for his hands and wrists to catch up.

And no one can properly define my shape. I’m sort of an hourglass, but with more sand on the bottom. However, nobody wants to acknowledge that although I have substantial upper frontals (32D), I’m very narrow across the shoulders, along with a tapered waist and fairly generous hips. Anything made for a true hourglass tends to fall off my shoulders.

            • Anonymous

Oh, I don’t know.  It sounds like your shape is quite well defined.  I bet in a previous life you were a sculptor’s model for any number of goddess statues.  Venus, Minnie, and Di, they kind of rocked that fulsome breasted, generous-hipped, narrow shoulders and waist look for centuries!  So what if they wouldn’t be hired as models today?  They are seriously due for a comeback!

And I relate to your hubby’s ring issue.  A couple of years ago, when my marriage ended, I had a devil of a time getting the damned band of gold off.  I would have liked to have ripped it off dramatically and flung it at the bastard’s head, but I knew I’d have to say, “Okay, wait.  I need some soap.  DON’T MOVE!”

        • Anonymous

News flash: women’s hips and thighs are supposed to look “healthy”…

          • Anonymous

Probably that’s why Mefein said ‘It’s NICE to see…’. So not really news, no. And no need for the quotation marks round healthy either; I think she really meant healthy, she doesn’t appear to be using it as a euphemism for ‘fat’ :-)

            • Anonymous

Sorry – that was an overly snarky reply. I know the original comment was not meant to imply that Gaga is abnormal or large, but the fact that that comment was made at all reflects how rarely we actually see a nude lady with a healthy hip-to-thigh ratio. Mostly it seems like these images photoshop, spanx and side-angle the hips and butts away! I am glad to see this too but also bummed that it’s something to “sympathize” with.

            • Anonymous

Ah, now I smell what you’re cooking. I’m a big-hipped girl myself (in my case, it’s mostly a big, jutting pelvic bone) so yeah, it would be nice to feel better about it. I remember I saw a photo of Megan Fox almost naked online once and some man had left a comment saying that her hips were too big and TBH it troubled me a bit. If Megan Fox has hips which are too big then clearly I’m beyond the pale.

            • Anonymous

And now I feel the need to go back and add that women with small hips or rear ends are not somehow abnormal – they are, after all, “real women” too! – it’s just that those of us WITH more of a pear shape sometimes feel like freaks. Aagh. Sorry. And yes, I have seen comments like that about people like the uber-thin Megan Fox. I blame our youth-obsessed fashion/Hollywood industry and the Victoria’s Secret Angels for making extremely skinny thighs the default “sexy” look. (which, again, is a great look for those who are blessed to have it, but is not attainable for all of us. even supermodel Adriana Lima admitted to not eating solid foods for days at a time before the VS fashion show – presumably to avoid any extra bloat in the tummy/hip/thigh region. lord help us all)

            • Anonymous

Love her or hate her, she knows her way around a couture garment, that’s for sure. Her features are so striking and unusual, beautiful without being overworked, over made-up, or so delicate as many other female superstars. She’s kept all of her original parts, and I have tremendous respect for that. She’s gorgeous. She looks healthy and happy and comfortable. She looks like the women in my family, and those are just a few of the reasons why I love Gaga. That, and her fierce talent. But more than her music, I like what she stands for, which is loving yourself, no matter what. Good for her. That’s a message that a lot of youth need to hear today.

She’s not just another “pretty blonde white woman” (pbww?), and you know that.

    • Anonymous

Thanks for the “Funny Girl/Funny Lady” reference. :-) She’s actually quite a pretty girl, and she does give good face.

    • Jasmine Moten

I don’t know why, but Lady Gaga just annoys me 99% of the time. Her voice is amazing, she’s very talented, but I hate this trend of celebrities trying to out crazy each other with their clothing. I also am incredibly jealous of her body now.

      • Anonymous

I’m with you. Her provocative schtick just feels forced to me. When Madonna did it, it seemed new. Now it seems kinda tired.

      • Anonymous

I love it when Gaga does it, especially when she dressed as a man at the VMAs. But Katy Perry and Nicki Minaj have sort of made the whole crazy clothes thing seem a little worn (if you’ll pardon the pun).

    • http://www.appostcardfrombrooklyn.com PostcardFromBK

It looks like someone got a bit too photoshop-happy around her mid section in the nude shot. Seriously, are magazine editors blind? Am I the only one seeing this?

      • Pinup Ghoul

I don’t think it looks unnatural. My figure isn’t much different: super teeny waist, muscular everything else. She’s always had a very slender hourglass figure.

This spread is the perfect digestif to her wackadoodle Thanksgiving special where she basically rambled and held dinner guests hostage while screaming songs at them over their quickly cooling entrees. She pulled some heavy-duty Babs on the show too so I guess we can see where this is going.

      • Anonymous

Yes!  I was just about to respond to the Funny Girl comment above that her Thanksgiving show was Streisand television special all the way, with all the over-the-top glam.  Funny Lady, that one.

    • http://twitter.com/NC_Meg Megan

They’re all gorgeous but that shot of her folded up in the Michael Kors is my favorite. The last one is pretty fab, too. She’s so freaking pretty.

      • Anonymous

I agree. She’s so vulnerable in that shot.

Beautiful. She can wear anything and look at least interesting and sometimes fabulous. OK, so the meat thing was an exception.

    • Anonymous

show me her naked without being run through the photoshop wringer and then I’ll comment on how rockin [or not, idk] her bod is. as it stands, I’m too much of a bitter kitten to believe what my eyes are showing me.

      • Anonymous

she’s got the best image people working for her on earth.

i know this cos my currently semi-estranged spouse was “managing” a guy who opened for her right when she went over-the-top famous ["managers dont get paid, edi!" not for three years. anyway]. the opening guy did nothing [he had a song snippet on the hills, thats about it] but crazyspouse came back saying: “she’s shorter than you are! she’s nothing to look at! she wears even bigger shoes than you! {bigger=higher platforms} etc & etc!”

actually, he didnt say the “etc & ect” part, i just made it up, but he was astonished at what she looked like. i wasnt, i’d seen her high school pictures & knew that all the copied geegaws & foofaraw were to cover up what wasnt there in the first place.

i wouldnt say this & she wouldnt bother me other than that i know, & that well, some of the people whom she ripped off directly & doesnt credit. & so theres this.

(I feel such a perv for making this comment, but what can I say, I’m extra gay for Gaga.)

Not exactly nude pics, but there is a Tumblr dedicated to her, umm, ass, and while it has a lot of edited pics too, it also has candids, pictures and gifs from fan meetings, concert etc., and therefore has lot of stuff where she looks as natural as she can get. Here’s the link:

Also, it was a year or so ago so maybe it doesn’t anymore, but I saw her live in a concert last year, and though she had bit of a belly going on (you know, the same way us normal women have?) she was in good shape and hot as hell. I do miss the curvier Gaga from earlier days though.

So excited for my Vanity Fair to come back! Scarlett’s cover was blech that I never even read her interview.

    • margaret meyers

I just dropped Vanity Fair after subscribing for a very long time.  I got tired of the annual photo spread about yachts, the endless articles about Hemingway, the stream of stupid power lists, the Dook and Duchess of Windsor, etc.  Recycled retreads redux.  Oh yeah, and short, weak, softball articles about celebrities accompanied by fashion spreads like this.

      • http://beautyforrealgirls.blogspot.com/ accidental housewife

The celebrity articles are hilarious. Several years ago, a media critic compared a VF interview with Jennifer Aniston to one VF did with Mary Pickford back in the 20s or 30s. They were essentially the same article. They have a formula and they’ve stuck to it for decades. But VF is my favorite magazine for plane rides. I’m especially fond of the “murder among the rich and non-famous” pieces they do on a regular basis.

Me, too! All that plus their type size got smaller, lol. When it started to become a chore to read I knew it was over.

    • Warmheartedgirl Seattle

Gorgeous!  I covet the McQueen coat.  Every photo is eye catching.  She really is quite pretty in the pink, where you can see her entire face!

    • Anonymous

I love the laundromat photo.  Wearing that dress and those amazing shoes, it’s totally in character to be throwing fur coats into the washing machine.

    • Anonymous

My favorite is actually the Versace couture pic. Very heavy-handed criticism of the celebrity culture, but a well-constructed one all the same.

    • Anonymous

She looks BEAUTIFUL. She is by far the most couture, fearless, and fierce bitch out there

    • Anonymous

i want to see an editorial with her like how she is in the fur  photo. I don’t want the masks, the makeup, the bizarre getups. she’s killed that. That’s her normal and it is SO overdone.

      • Anonymous

Have you seen her mini-video of the “nymph” character from “You and I”?

        http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KTiV9Obc9c4

That’s the Gaga you’re looking for.  Quite lovely, really.

        • Anonymous

Thanks for the link, never seen her like that. Lovely, and what a dancer’s body.

    • Anonymous

I find her hair/wigs annoying.  They just look filthy and nasty.  I know it’s all part of the character she’s inhabiting, but it just makes me want to gag.  I keep hoping for the day when she finally tires of them and throws them in the trash where they belong.

Re:  the nude.  My ribs stood out in the back like that once.  My doctor put me on medication to increase my appetite.  I worry about Ms. G.

      • Anonymous

Point taken. But the rest of her body doesn’t appear too thin at all.

      • Ann Erickson

my ribs stick out too but I’ve got plenty of hips / butt to make up for it. she does too. and she looks good!

    • http://profiles.google.com/ballinger.jl Jessica Ballinger

I just noticed that they shopped away her tattoos.

      • http://www.facebook.com/joshm1 Josh Mears

Gaga’s tattoos are on the left side of her body, and from what I can tell these pictures only show her right side.

      • http://twitter.com/katesti Kate

I think all her tattoos are on her left side, away from the camera.

ETA: Oh, the lack of refresh kills me.

      bow down bitches, bow down.

I think she looks amazing here.  And yes, it’s nice to see a megastar with an attractive, but “normal” face.  I find her fashion choices and general appearance completely fascinating; it’s a shame her music is so terribly dull.

What is Vanity Fair “NSFW”?  Not Freakin’ South West?

Anyway…….Steffi can portray Barbra when they do her biopic.  I like the photo of her in the fur, and the cover shot (Gaga as Scarlett O’Hara?) best.  And why isn’t the Hot Ginger Handler at her side in the Versace photo?

It means Not Safe for Work.

The light bulb has just lit over my head!  Now I get it!  Thank you!

I love a good nude photo, but that isn’t a good one, so..

It makes absolutely no sense, especially for Vanity Fair.

    • Anonymous

She is the best, I bow down to her. She knows how to work it on out.

    • Anonymous

I wouldn’t mind going to the laundromat if I could wear Valentino Couture and cray cray shoes. Cool shoot.

    • Anonymous

What is her real hair color, I wonder?

      • Anonymous

        Beige.

      • http://twitter.com/yankeefoxtrot Alex McGeagh

I believe she’s brunette…? She appears to be so in childhood photos and when she was singing cabaret style in small NYC clubs…

    • http://twitter.com/Bloodisea Barbora

I love it, especially second one :)))
      Adore Gaga!

    • Anonymous

I don’t get the nude shot here. It feels like she’s trying too hard. Leave that out and I give this an A+. Just sublime pics. Beautiful.

    • Anonymous

The dress and hat on the cover are CRAZY AMAZING, but I find the eye shadow they used sooo distracting! It’s disturbing! As for her nude pic, she’s got an amazingly beautiful body, there’s no denying it, but she’d a look a wee bit better if there weren’t so many ribs showing – go to Shake Shack with Hot Ginger Handler, Steffi, and let me know when you’ll be there!

    • Anonymous

WHOA pretty sure that’s my old laundromat in the East Village!! Too bad the pics weren’t taken with the Christmas decorations up– they go all out!

    • Anonymous

Nice editorial but the ribs… yuck.

    • Anonymous

She looks gorgeous in the shot with the Kors jacket. But the ribs are creeping me out, too. However, I’d kill for her ass. ;-)

    • Anonymous

Fabulous editorial.  The cover shot (reminds me somehow of the March/Siriano avant garde winner) and the boat pic are my faves.

    • http://twitter.com/myblackfriend myblackfriendsays

my favorite is the one in the Michael Kors. It’s funny, as much as I like her, I don’t really like much of her music. Just Dance and Poker Face are my two favorites. I really like what she stands for, and her understanding of what it means to be an artist.

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Jessica-TallGirl-Freeman/1043623567 Jessica TallGirl Freeman

4th one down is absolutely gorgeous.  I knew she had it in her.  Never been a huge fan, but, she’s growing on me…

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Amanda-Rose-Gilbert/706705146 Amanda Rose Gilbert

I can’t fucking wait for this to come to the stands! I have her GaGa book of pix and holy shit! She’s knows how to work a camera. Id give my closet full of couture to meet her and then make her be my friend so I could replace all of my couture.

    • sweetlilvoice

She looks great and I agree that the NUDE!!! on the cover is just stupid and tasteless. Yes, she’s naked, but not showing anything. Girl looks good.

    • Judy_J

All the photos are beautiful….I particularly like the “wake” shot and the cover shot. She looks like a red daffodil.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_K7VOQSAYZ7H2OBX6LOJNNIBSSE Amanda

      LOVE the first picture!

I wanna run into lady Gaga at the laundromat!!  please please please….

    • Anonymous

      Fierce and fearless. LOVE.

    • Anonymous

Lady Gaga is really reaching back in time. The cover photo reminds me of Mae West.

    • Anonymous

LOVE her profile in that black hat!  Such an Edith Sitwell pose.
This is a great photo spread, thanks.

    • Anonymous

I really like her.  I like how natural she is even in her cartoon-like persona.   Frankly she reminds me of Dolly Parton, another person I love.  Parton’s the most completely unaffected and natural person out there, even as she admits to wigs and plastic surgery and crazy country costumes and all the rest.

      • Anonymous

My love for Dolly Parton has developed geometrically over the years. Didn’t appreciate her at all for decades (yes, I listened to country, not-so enthusiastically, even as a child) but once she got that toe hold, well, if she lives another 20 years I may well become a stalker.  I adore unashamed artifice.[ETA: in appearance. In other arenas not always so much.]  Which is, I think, why I enjoy much of Gaga’s schtick.

    • Anonymous

      Yawn.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1045295912 Charles Purdy

Love her, love the editorial, love her whole schtick.

    • Anonymous

NUDE! Please. For a woman that goes out sans pants as often as Gaga does, being photographed nude is hardly risque.

    • Anonymous

TLo,  I’m surprised you guys didn’t notice (or at least mention) Hot Ginger Handler in the Bra and Skirt Versace photo.

He’s on the left, his face partially obscured by someone’s hand.

    • Michael Shaw

The editorial layout is stunning! Each pic, from the full costume regalia to the nudes are gorgeous. Haven’t heard much from Gaga in a while. Nice way to ease back in to pop culture consciousness.
