In or Out: Emma Stone in Chanel

Posted on November 16, 2011

We have such a love-hate relationship with Emma and her style choices. Sometimes she nails it (but not enough), sometimes she looks like she couldn’t care less, and sometimes she looks like she’s trying, but falling short of the fabulous mark. We don’t know where this one falls on that scale.

Emma Stone in Chanel CoutureEmma Stone attends the Museum of Modern Art’s 4th Annual Film benefit ‘A Tribute to Pedro Almodovar’ in New York City in Chanel Couture.

Emma Stone in Chanel Couture

Emma Stone in Chanel Couture

It’s a really fantastic dress and it looks great on her, but what do we all think of her hair? We want to like it – we think we do like it, maybe – but we were taken aback when we first saw it. This can be a fun ‘do, but we’re not sure if it suits her that much. Plus, a pretty redhead sporting a bouffant can’t help but be compared to Kate Pierson of the B-52s. We can’t not see that. Still, that’s not to say a pretty redhead can’t rock the puffy hair if she wants to. But does it suit Emma? Does it suit this dress? We’re asking.

Vote Now!
IN! She’s young! It’s elegant and fun! Lighten up!

OUT! Priscilla Presley hair and Chanel Couture should not be mentioned in the same lifetime.

Voting on Blake Lively’s equally challenging Chanel is still open, darlings.

This is an In for me. I love the whole thing, except maybe the shoes. I think strappier shoe would have been nice.

I actually think this looks better on Stone than on the model. The hair is very cool with the dress. It is understated but still makes a statement without competing with the print and pleating on the dress.

    • Anonymous

I agree.  In.  But I would add the bag in with the shoes as a potential question mark.  But neither is enough to ruin the overall look.

      • Anonymous

I kinda like the shoes, but the dress is screaming for something more fun. Something pink, maybe?

      • Anonymous

hmmmm…didn’t even notice the bag, that’s how hard it is to see beyond the backdrop.

IN. Agree that this dress looks better on ES than on the model, looks like it might have been modified to not be as hip-intensive. Eh, for the hair but as noted, it is sleek and that werqs with the dress.

  • she looks so fabulous. the hair suits her and the dress. well done, miss stone.

    • Anonymous

I agree completely.  It’s an IN.

  • In. I didn’t notice the hair amongst the roses.

    • Anonymous

Busy dress on a busy background does make it hard to see. I bet it smelled lovely though. 🙂

  • She looks great! The dress looks better on Emma than on the model. And I actually like the hair because it’s a little modern (Though I didn’t think of Kate Pierson until you guys mentioned her. Thanks a lot.).

  • Stephen Bornstein

Ms Stone rocks the s*** out of it…..IN

  • Anonymous

IMO it should be fussy hair OR fussy dress. Having both seems aging.
(Also the red rose backdrop helps nothing and adds yet more visual noise. Poor choice, event planners!)

  • Anonymous

Out. The combination of the dress’s hip-bumpers and the poofy hair makes her look like she’s tottering in Mommy’s clothes.

  • Sobaika Mirza

I dig this so much. The hair makes it, for me.

  • I kind of love the hair, especially since Emma seems like she has fun with her hairstyles and likes mixing it up a bit.  A bouffant is just fun, and she’s so pretty and lively that she can wear it without it making her look old and tired. In!

  • I think she looks great, even the hair.  I have a small issue with the shoe, something more fabulous is in order.  IN

  • Stefanos Mantyla

This feels like an OUT. Do not like the hair, and the dress just does not turn me on, either. At least in photos, it looks rather stiff and, when combined with its shininess, cheap, which I know Chanel is absolutely NOT.

  • Anonymous

If Michelle Obama wore this, she’d use a black belt and look better than the model.

    • Anonymous

Well, I’m biased, but asking anyone to compete with Michelle is hardly fair. She’s sui generis!

  • Anonymous

Your last two questions, TLo:  YES and YES.

She looks beautiful and her hair looks better with that dress than the dorky Michael’s Craft Store thingies on the model’s head.

  • I think it is perfect!

  • Anonymous

The bottom half gets a little too busy architecturally for me, especially with that print added on top of it, but I like it all together. Want more jewelry or interesting shoes, but still giving her an IN. Love me some Emma.

  • Daniele Paulding

    Love! In!

  • Anonymous

An IN thanks to the kick-ass dress but no thanks to the Julianne Moore hair

  • Anonymous

I say ‘yes’ to the hair and the dress is fab.  IN.

  • Honestly, I think the issue is the backdrop; it makes it difficult to see her hair and the proportions. But based on what I can see, it’s pretty and it works.

  • MilaXX

First impression before I read you comment was I like the hair and makeup. Sure it leans towards B-52 territory, but as a one off it works.

  • Vaniljekjeks

Hair is weird, but still in.

  • Eclectic Mayhem

IN!  Though I may have been distracted by those beautiful roses behind Ms Stone.

  • I’m going to give her a tepid IN because the dress is gorgeous and I think the hairstyle works more than it doesn’t.  I think she’d have nailed if she’d A. done a sleeker bouffant without the side bits falling free and B. not stood against those roses as a backdrop as her hair actually fades into them a bit.

  • Anonymous

I love the black and white graphic print of the dress against the red rose backdrop!  I assume that was just a happy accident.  IN!

  • Anonymous

IN. Love the hair, the strands down modernize it a little, besides, isn’t this the anti-spaniel do? The shoes are a little boring, but they still work. The dress itself looks better on her than the runway, but that is because she has toned down some of the outrageous parts, but the runway is the place to show those off.

  • Anonymous

Hahaha I now have the B-52’s in my head.

In.  I like her hair with this dress.  I don’t think she should wear it this way very often but it’s a nice change.

  • Robyn Morelli

IN for me too. The hair isn’t great, especially the piece that’s falling out. But the dress is fabu…

  • IN!! Aren’t we always complaining about yoga hair? This looks clean and ‘done’. And I love the dress.

  • IN

  • Anonymous

IN, IN, IN.  She looks fabulous from her head to her toes.

  • BerlinerNYC

LOVE. IT. I don’t get why this wasn’t a WERQ. She looks stunning, especially in that last picture. She’s helped out by having one of the most luscious backgrounds I’ve ever seen.

  • Anonymous

LOVE.  IN, to be sure.  Her makeup looks fantastic!!

  • Sarah Thomas

What’s distracting me is how much she looks like Liv Tyler here.

  • Out. I hate that hairstyle, it ruins everything else!

  • C.

IN.  I think she’s rocking it better than the model, actually.

  • Anonymous

And what’s wrong with Kate Pierson?… I love her!   The B 52’s put on an awesome show…

  • Sylvia Baba

    Definitely IN!

  • Anonymous

Forgot to say in.. dress is pretty, makeup great .. not loving the shoes but she gets a pass..  because she does remind me of Miss Kate…

  • Anonymous

Oh, no. While I like the hair, it doesn’t work with such a fussy gown. Such a fussyfussyfussyfussyfussy gown.

Did I mention that the gown was a bit fussy?

  • In! Girl looks wonderful.

  • Anonymous

She gets an IN from me.  I think the real problem with the picture is the wall of roses behind her.  It works against the pattern of the dress and the color of her hair.

  • Anonymous

I think it looks amazing! I think its a perfect balance with her make-up & styling. She looks young, fun, polished and fresh at the same time. I love it!

  • In- barely. The dress would be nicer if it was a bit less shiny

  • In. It all just seems to be working here.

  • IN for the occasion.

  • Anonymous

Hard for me to focus on the dress and hair with all of those roses!  But it is an interesting dress–IN.  The hair–not an out but I don’t think it goes with the look, since the hair is retro but the dress isn’t.  Then again, f you saw my hair and clothes at this moment you would laugh that I could even think of judging someone else!

  • Anonymous

I know it’s heresy to not like Chanel couture, but I think the gown is bordering on ugly. Busy pattern, fussy gatherings in awkward spots, unflattering silhouette on the hips.

But other than the dress, I think she looks good. I really like her hair. Nothing wrong with a good Kate Pierson homage.

  • IN!

  • Anonymous

IN. I think Emma can rock the boufy-hair and I like the dress, although I like the hem length on the model better.

  • Anonymous

I think she looks great all around. IN!

  • Anonymous

Wow, the dress looks better on her than on the model. I think with that big shoulder on the dress, she kind of had to put her hair up. I think she’s rocking that groovy bouffant. Kate Pierson, eat your heart out.

  • Lighten up, TLo! She’s the definition of IN.

  • Anonymous

Why is she wearing one of Izzy’s wigs?

  • sweetlilvoice

    Love it, love the hair.

  • She looks so IN! I think she did it this time! go go Emma!

  • Linde Hoff

I’m on the fence…the rosebush backdrop wasn’t helpful at all (not her fault), so the hair got lost in it.  The dress is odd in the hips, and I’m not thinking it’s right for her.  I liked the model’s hair much better and wish something could’ve been added to her red hair in a similar fashion.  It would have popped and been a nice accessory.

  • Anonymous

i like the hair and makeup without question.  she’s had trouble finding off-the-face styles that suit her, and i like this one as an occasional option.  my issue is with the length of the dress.  i wish she’d have hemmed it just below the knee, nixing that split and the odd length.  other than that, she is IN.

also, whomever decided that the step and repeat should be roses is also IN:  genius.

  • IN! She looks better than the model!

  • Why why why do starlets always stand with their legs crossed like that?

    • oohsparkley!

Maybe they are feeling vulnerable with all the cameras and it’s body language for can’t go there – denying access to the goodies.

  • Nicole Merrill

    IN; I love it.

  • IN

  • Anonymous

In. Great dress on her (though in theory I think it’s too busy), the hair would be great on someone whom it flatters, but it does not flatter her, I think.

Not enough wrong for an out.

  • I don’t think it is the right hairstyle for the dress.

  • Anonymous

Love the hair, and love the way her makeup matches the mood set by the bouffant. IN!

  • I’m going to say IN but it’s a little old for her, IMO

  • Anonymous

I like the dress and I can’t see the hair very well due to the background, but I am pretty sure it’s not her best hairdo.
    But overall, it’s an IN

  • aimee_parrott

IN.  I think she looks fabulous.

  • iCouture

I just love Emma soo much, and this is a cute look.   IN.

  • IN! She’s young! It’s elegant and fun! Lighten up!

  • FABULOUS. In, in, in. Love the hair.

  • Absolutely In for me.  Also, does anyone else think she looks exactly like Liv Tyler in that last photo?

  • Oh, I like it. In all the way.

  • Anonymous

IN. I like the hair. The whole look has a nice updated-retro feel to it. She looks like a young Marg Helgenberger in that last pic!

  • In!

  • Joy

In, I like the hair and the dress is so striking.

  • Anonymous

  • Anonymous

  • Lexie

In. The dress/make up is stunning. That hair style isn’t my favorite, but it’s not so bad as to become distracting.

  • Anonymous

  • Anonymous

I think she looks amazing head to toe. A complete IN from me.

  • Anonymous

IN, except for those shoes.  I think that´s what´s throwing this look a little bit off.  Otherwise, nice.

  • Anonymous

IN, she’s kind of rocking it. I think the long dress helps, if it was short it would read less June Carter Cash and more Kate Pierson.

  • Anonymous

Not loving the hair.  If it stood out more against the background, she’d almost look like a conehead.  Fab dress, though.

  • Being to young to catch the B-52 reference I’m going with… She looks fabulous! IN

  • Anna Tree

The hair is only a C+ but the dress is A+. IN

  • In – the hair doesn’t distract so it’s a non-issue for me.

  • oohsparkley!

I’m torn – I like the dress, she looks nice, but I also thought the hair made her look much older than she is and dated.  I didn’t see Pricilla Presley, more like Grace Kelly or Tippi Hendren.  Do 20 somethings want to be that retro?  It isn’t even that the hairdo is that retro, more that it isn’t her hairstyle?  It makes her forehead so prominent in that first pic.  I’m going to go with an In because I don’t think she looks bad, but she could look better.

  • Grace Ritt

I love the whole look IN. I think the hair looks great; it’s unexpected.

  • Anonymous

I’m sure I’m in the minority but I like the B-52’s schtick. Rock Lobster anyone? I’m not exactly in love with the dress but she’s werqing it and the hair looks fantastic with it. I think I’d like the whole look less if the hair was styled differently.

  • Anonymous

LOVE IT. What’s not to love about Kate Pierson? I wish I could rock that red bouffant!

  • Anonymous

Beehive or not, it’s an IN.

  • It’s not elegant: it’s OLD and matronly plus weird ruffles.

  • Anonymous

In! I love the hair – red, big, fabulous. Well played, Emma.

  • Sara__B

The dress suits her, but the hair style and eye liner do not. She’s young and pretty, and having fun with fashion, so IN anyway.

  • Aly Light

I think she looks great, although I think the hem on the dress is a tad long and makes her look a little short. IN.

  • Anonymous

IN. The dress looked so good on her that I didn’t even notice the hair.

  • Anonymous

Love the dress, love the Kate hair…In!!

  • Anonymous

It’s hard to see the hair against those red roses, but it seems okay. It’s the dress I’m ambiguous about.

  • Anonymous

I think it looks great.  The dress and the hair look fine together and I think the dress looks great on her.

  • The dress is too long, the hair looks too wig like – Out.

  • Anonymous

I like the updo, but this is too much up and too much do.  I want it to be a little softer.  Her makeup is pretty.

  • Anonymous

    A reserved IN

  • Mariah J

I wish the dress were shorter and I hate the hair….sorry its a close OUT

  • Anonymous

I love the look, and it looks gorgeous with those red flowers in the background.

  • Anonymous

Ugh, I think this is a personal preference thing, which I don’t feel justified in judging too harshly on, because she really is polished and put together.  I just can’t help feeling like all she’s missing is a pair of rhinestoned, cat-eye glasses.

Nope, I don’t think I can get over it.  I’m going to have to give her an OUT.

  • I think the hair looks a little Bride of Frankenstein-esque the way it angles up and back away from her face.  Not fond.  Love the dress.

  • In.

  • Anonymous

A mild out. *picks up tea cup, dabs corners of mouth with napkin*

    • Anonymous

I disagree with your vote, but love the imagery!  🙂

  • Anonymous

I really like this look. On the model it looked hippy but then I realized those were pockets(?) and as long as Emma kept her hands out of them the silhouette was lovely.

  • Anonymous

IN..but that really is an awful hairdo…hairdon’t  The dress looks good on her, a bit busy, but I like it.

  • Anonymous

You know, I don’t love the hair, but I still think it works.  IN.

  • Anonymous

In.  The hair is fine, the dress divine.

  • Anonymous

Hair works for me make-up is utterly flawless, I like the print of the dress and I like the more fitted hip, but I’m not wild about all the foo-fera ruffled-y growths on the gown.

I’m giving her an IN, though.  She looks like she likes what she’s wearing instead of all slouchy and stuff.

  • She looks FABULOUS! Love the hair and that dress is unique and flattering. IN!

  • Carrie L. Boram

So cute. Love every bit of it. In.

  • Anonymous

That dress is so fantastic, she could be wearing dreads or shaved bald and she’d still be a huge IN. As it is, I dig the bouffant.  🙂

  • This looks great to me. I do like her hair, although I wasn’t sure at first. I love the dress, and I think she rocks it better than the model, which is always a challenge. Her make-up looks nice, and I think the busy dress called for a simple black shoe, so i think she nailed it. IN

  • I like the dress, except for the bottom of it. I think it would look better knee length with no slit. Don’t love the hair. But I do generally love Emma. I’ve watched Easy A every time I come across it on cable…which is a lot. Plus she was pretty funny on SNL this week.  I’m going to give her an IN.

  • Anonymous

IN.  While the hair may not have been my first choice, it works for her and with the dress.  I especially like the black and white print against the roses.  Gorgeous.

  • Annie McClanahan

oh c’mon, boys, you’re showing your (and my!) age

  • IN. It’s not the norm, that’s why I like it.

  • I’d give her an “in” even with the less than cute shoes. It’s kind of hard to determine how cute her hair look since she’s standing against that particular background. However, looking like Kate Pierson isn’t such a bad thing!

  • Anonymous

    I love it.

  • Anonymous

In – love love love the dress and the hair.

  • Anonymous

  • Meagan Smith

IN!  She looks polished and fresh.  Plus I just have a mega girl-crush on her.

  • Anonymous

LOVE the dress. The hair needs a few locks falling over the forehead and by the sides of her face to make it less severe.

  • Anonymous

Completely IN, I can’t believe there was a question.  It is sooooo not Kate B-52 hair, much more polished and chic than that.  More Adele than Kate.  Love the dress…..

  • That dress is cray-cray, but IN!

  • InN, even though she somehow always reminds me of LiLo before she got all crazy.

  • Anonymous

I think if it was short it would be in, but since it’s a weird length it’s an OUT for me.  I love the hair!

  • up with pod people

In but I think it’s because I can SMELL that wall of roses.

  • Anna Vasquez

” a pretty redhead sporting a bouffant can’t help but be compared to Kate Pierson of the B-52s. We can’t not see that.”

I fail to see the problem here. If anything MORE people should be DELIBERATELY referencing Kate Pierson in their fashion choices.

  • Anonymous

  • Anonymous

In with some slight reservations about the hair. It’s a little too poufy.

  • Hate the shoes, so-so on the hair, love the dress. IN

  • Susan Walker

Love her, love her look.  I think she is young and relaxed and probably having fun going along with stylist ideas.  I suspect it would have been better on a simpler backdrop.  And I didn’t think B-52’s because it isn’t quite so big and camp.

  • Anonymous

The dress tumor has to go – the dress would be stunning without it.  And the beehive does not need to make a comeback.  It DOES NOT need to make a comeback.  On anyone.

But I give her an IN because she’s f-ing awesome and I don’t care what she wears.

  • Anonymous

I like it. She doesn’t look like everyone else out there. IN.

  • Anonymous

  • Anonymous

LOVE the dress and yes the hair is a little “church-of-God” for a 20-something, but the overall look is a definite IN

  • Anonymous

it’s a pretty dress. & we are old. we see kate pierson. she probably doesnt know who kate pierson is. or it’s like this: she looks at a picture of the B52s in the same way we wouldve looked at a picture of, say, maybe juliette gréco when we were her age. as a style icon, albeit a funky one, but one perhaps worth imitating. so she did. it’s the vantage point that matters here.

  • Haley Buchanan

IN.  I actually love the hair.  I feel like she almost has a sense of humor about how the hair and the dress are both a little on the fussy side.  She’s having fun with the look and she looks beautiful!

  • In. Very cute.

  • That is a gorgeous dress! and I think the hair would work more on her if she had a little more fringe going on. IN!

  • SO FREAKING IN. Without a doubt. Gorgeous. This shoulda been a WERQ, without a doubt 🙂

  • Anonymous

  • Anonymous

    In! strikingly pretty.

  • Anonymous

I agree the hair may not have been the BEST choice, but she looks great. IN!

  • Anonymous

Love. She looks taller than the model! Hair works for me.

  • Joyce VG

    It’s really good. IN.

  • Jessica O’Connell

I’m actually not really loving the dress that much but it’s not terrible and I like her hair and makeup… I say IN.

  • Anonymous

Other than the hair, this a big in for me. But that hair, UGH. I think I’m going to just sit this one out.

  • To be fair, I love her, but still: IN. So very in, I would have given this a WERQ. I think the dress has a very old school glamour kind of vibe, so the hair works. I also think the dress looks much better on her than it does on the model….

  • The only way Emma Stone would ever be an out for me is if she decides to have a LiLo-caliber meltdown. I think she looks adorable and beautiful here. IN!!

  • Anonymous

    It’s, like, okay. Kinda… Okay.

  • Megan Sears

In, but I have a hard time being objective about Ms. Stone.

  • IN IN IN IN IN! Love the hair!
Props for the Kate Person reference, although I don’t entirely agree.

  • She’s IN. Great dress that fits her perfectly, and a more classic do and you’ll accuse her of “matronly”. Cute, young fresh, and you cannot go wrong with some Kate Pierson in your life

  • Anonymous

    Total in.

  • Didn’t Agent 99 on the TV show “Get Smart” sport the same ‘do in season 1?  I LOVE it on Ms Stone.  Seriously.  Did not think of Kate Pierson til you put her in my head (BEST concert of my life: the B52s opening for the Violent Femmes, EPIC!).  And even so, I still think it looks classic and elegant on Emma Stone.  The dress… reminded me of the marble walls inside the Ladies Room at The Four Seasons.  But the skinny bitch pulled it off.  IN

  • Anonymous

IN.  Fab hair, and she is working that dress way harder than the model.

  • In! She looks lovely, and I love the poofy hair.

  • I think the dress would have been fabulous if it was knee length. Still, I love the understated makeup, but I don’t love the hair. I’ll give her a grudging IN.

  • WOW, I neither remember this dress, nor do I *want* to remember this dress.

But, oddly enough, I think she’s wearing it well. For what it is (in an eye-assaulting print), she’s doing it justice, and the styling (yes, the bouffant) works well.

PLUS, she’s not falling into her usual sheer lip / wash of eyeshadow makeup. I never thought the eyeshadow almost to her brow suited her.

    • I agree with all of this, so my vote is also IN.

  • Anonymous

    Fabulous and In!

  • Simply, IN.

  • Total in. The hair is fun and looks great, and she looks like she loves how she looks.

And I mean, the B-52s were an entire generation before her (I’m a little older than her and I barely know them, and definitely didn’t think of them when I saw this). I think she’s pulling it off all on her own.

  • Anonymous

I love the hair and the dress. She looks great. In.

IN! don’t like the hair though

  • IN  and In love

  • Anonymous

In!  Its really flattering, and the use of the print is interesting.  Shoes and bag are a bit boring, but appropriate.  I like the hair, my only quibble are the tendrils; it would have been better clean and all up.

  • CQAussie

That hair, it’s awful.  That Chanel dress sadly looks weird too….lovely on top and yet crazy split skirt on the bottom and….with pockets?  No.  OUT.

  • R. L.

I think she’s IN but not overwhelmingly so.  The shoes and bag kind of fade into the background.  I think I like the model’s shoes better but I like the way E.S. wears the dress better.

  • Against the background of the roses, she looks amazing.  Really stunning.  IN.

  • Anonymous

In by a hair (but none of the ones on her head).

  • I think it looks great and a bit offbeat, but that’s what makes it fun. IN.

  • In! Though that stray piece of hair annoys me.

  • Anonymous

IN. Black and white dresses were made for redheads.

  • Anonymous

In to the in of in! She looks darling.

  • She is young, but that dress and the hair make her look old. OUT.

  • stacey avelar

Skinned Zebra? I am alone her, but hate the fabric. Dress shape is kinda Boca Raton to me.

  • Rashida Jones

IN! I dont like her hair but everything else looks good.

  • From the neck up, she and Blake Lively ( went the same route with the hair, and IMHO, Emma pulls it off way better. It’s sleek and classy, but with a pinch of sass and a wink. She can pull of hairstyles that look dated on other ladies, I think because she’s got so much personality.

  • Gabrielle Levy

    A total IN.

From the neck up, she and Ms. Lively went similar routes, but IMO Emma does it better. She’s got enough personality to pull off hairstyles that could read as dated on other ladies, and make them werq for her. Love the dress, too.

  • The whole thing is blah. OUT.

  • IN. She’s pulling it off, IMO.

  • Anonymous

In.  She looks really good, not spectacular, but really good.  I love that shade of red.

  • Anonymous

i’m afraid she’s out.  she needs a belt or something to break up all that whirling black and white, and the “corsage” thing on her left shoulder (right side of photo) looks like it’s growing and will soon take over the world.  she should have done more with the shoes and the purse is so forgettable i had to go back and seek it out. with such a high forehead, that hairdo is making her look like an alien with a giant brain.  it’s a shame, because you know i love me some redheads.

  • Anonymous

I’m the polar opposite to TLo in that I think the dress is hideous but I love the hair. Even though I think the dress is ugly, she overcomes it and looks good overall. In.

  • Anonymous

I think the dress is wonderful.  In front of that backdrop – it looks busy as hell.  (Why do events keep doing this “Hollywood goes to a garden party” thing?)  But imagine how great she looked walking around the party?  I think she even makes the dress look better than it did on the model (less going on around the hips).  Hair was a perfect choice.

She’s IN! (And I can’t even remember who she is.)

  • Anonymous

IN. She looks very good. The hair is fine by me. I would like to see a slightly more dramatic lip color.

  • Love all of it, especially on that rose background. Inny, in, IN

  • Anonymous

IN. Love the hair and she’s one of the few people that I think can pull off a black and white look like that. My only problem is with that insane shoulder detail.

  • Aki

She looks stunning, classy, radiant even, in this dress.  In.

    IN!  Love everything!

    Yes. IN!

  • IN.  I think it’s that horrid rose wall behind her that is throwing it off.

First thing that came to mind looking at this was Julianne Moore in “A Single Man.” In other words, it is fierce and I love it!

    IN! I love the hair.

  • the hair is good, at the very least for going there. But the dress does seem wrong for it somehow … good for her for not going too literal, but something about it seems off.

    Still, IN.

  • Mary McClelland

In. And I like the hair. You can’t have busy hair with such a busy dress. I think she looks great!

    IN. love the whole look

  • Jenny Martin

In. Love the pattern and the dress fits her pretty well. Her makeup is fresh and pretty, so it’s too bad her hair is just meh. But I think the dress and makeup make this a solid In for me.

  • Love it!

  • Erin Nice

I love this. I’m very happy to see a young celebrity with her hair actually done, as opposed to the dreaded “messy bun” or cocker spaniel waves.

  • Out. her makeup is lovely but the fit of the dress is all wrong.

  • Anonymous

All in – I love her eye makeup!

Love the dress, hate the hair. She looks ten + years older than she is.

    Voting late, but…  IN.

That dress makes me tired just looking at it.
She’s a beauuuutiful girl, so why the distraction of wearing a Rorschach test?

  • I love the dress so much, I say in. I think the dress called for an updo, but NOT that beehive.

  • Anonymous

In, but would def change that hair.

It’s not the hair, that’s not a fabulous dress. It fits her oddly around the hips.  Perhaps because on the tiny model the hips look like shelves, which is what the designer wanted (?).  Because Emma is not the same degree of tiny, the fabric ends up looking bulky and pulls oddly.  it’s not a fabulous dress on the model, and it’s a terrible dress on a human.  Out (sorry, Emma, I still love you.)

  • IN!  Love the hair.  🙂

IN! Love the dress and for some reason I really don’t hate the beehive hair. Strange… Maybe it’s the lovely Wall O’ roses warping my vision.

  • “falling short of the fabulous mark”, falling short being the operative words here. The dress is calf length on the model, and floor length on Emma. Hence, the odd fit and off proportions. “Couture” my ass. That should fit better than her skin. Since it doesn’t, OUT.

  • Pam Winters

Love the dress on her, but not the hair. Something looser (though not bedhead) would work better, I think.

  • In. It’s not my favorite hairstyle, but it could be much worse. Very pretty dress.

  • Out sadly. She wounds me because she’s so pretty and awesome, yet her RC choices are so terrible most of the time.

  • IN. I love that dress and I think the styling works.

  • Sara S Rummell

IN – She looks awesome.  LOVE the dress

    Marge Simpson hair

Broader in the shoulders and narrower in the hips than on the model. And that’s a good thing. IN.

  • I think the hair is fun and makes the look a little more tongue in cheek

  • Anonymous

IN. Not sure about the hair, but the dress is fabulous and perfect for her.

  • Cathy S

It’s funny. I was scrolling along thinking, “I like that dress. What the hell’s up with her hair? Why don’t T & Lo like the dress? Oh, it’s her hair.” Yeah, love the dress, hate the hair. I give her an In though because she looks really great in the dress.

  • In.  I think she looks amazing.

IN.  The hair works.  Perhaps more prominent earrrings might have punched it up.  Shoes are a smidge office-y looking and the bag is expected; color would have been nice.  These things are nits though.  Overall, lovely.

IN, she has never looked better.  The rose background helps but still…

Ooh, that’s some bad bridesmaid hair. Not many can rock the Kate Pierson bouffant successfully. Well, other than Kate. Love the dress, but I’d nix the corsage-y appendage. Out.

  • i love it!!!

  • Boys, please take a break and stop frothing.  She looks fabulous!  In and IN!

  • Anonymous

I LOVE the dress, but the styling is very ick to me.  So I’m on the fence.

My total girl crush on Emma dictates that all her looks must be voted IN.  Her dress is fab and her hair isn’t at least yoga/gym hair.

  • Anonymous

    IN. She looks great. 🙂

  • i love most of this look; i just think the hair needed to be a tad smaller and it would’ve been a knockout. IN.

  • I like it. What I hate is that she’s standing in front of roses and we can’t really see the awesomeness that is her red hair.

In. Even with the ugly shoes. I like her hair

  • IN, love the look. And the background is gorgeous!

  • Anonymous

IN and I love the hair with that dress and her makeup is SO better than usual.

  • decormaven

In. I think the hair needed this type of volume because the flower embellishment on the bodice/shoulder is so fussy.
