WERQ: Emma Stone in Lanvin

Posted on October 11, 2011

We feel like we’ve been pretty hard on Emma lately. Sweetie, if you’re reading this, it was only said out of love. We just want the best for you, dear. And by “best,” we mean “ensembles that we prefer.” So in the interests of getting you to dry your tears, we’re gonna do you a solid and offer you some positive reinforcement.

Emma Stone in LanvinEmma Stone attends Germany Premiere of “The Help” in Hamburg, Germany in Lanvin.

We LOVE:

– The hair. You really should stick with red.

– The earrings.

– The color of the dress (even if we’re under-impressed with the dress itself).

– The clutch. That really was brilliant, darling. A perfect way to punctuate the outfit.

So you WERQ all that shit and hold your head high, doll. Your outfit is finally T Lo – approved! Aren’t you a lucky girl? Don’t you feel special right now?

She looks so very bored. But pretty. :)

i wish she didnt look so sad :(
but this is a great look for her!!

As a jewelry designer, I’d love to see her wearing a few bangles, or a great necklace, but she looks very pretty.

      • Anonymous

You know, I like the white bare shoulders and neck, but you are right bangles would punch it up.  And looking somewhat engaged and alert would help too.

    • Anonymous

I agree she looks great.  But what color is the dress?  I like the bodice, but its hard to see in the pictures where the dress looks black. And she looks so pale in the other pictures.

    • Anonymous

Poor thing, she must be exhausted – but love the colors of the dress/clutch/hair.

Why does her eyeshadow match her hair colour? This disturbs me.

    • Anonymous

If she could just look a little happier to be there. I think her attitude is making this a little short of WERQ-worthy.

      WERQ! she looks just lovely!

    • Sobaika Mirza

      She should, you know… SMILE?

    • Anonymous

I love the dress color, but I dont see this as a WERQ moment.

    • Anonymous

I, too, love this color, especially on her.  The dress is meh.  I love love the clutch.  She’s pretty blond, but I (as a red convert myself) prefer her in red.  I just wish she didn’t look so bored.  I mean, I don’t expect her to walk around for hours with a smile plastered on her face.  That would be creepy.  But at least have some life in the eyes.

    • Claudia Fernandes

      i love the face «of course i’m a WERQ, bitches!». Outstanding.

      Lovely.

Anyone looking this fabulous should be happy about it.

    • http://profiles.google.com/trashilove { edi } ilovetrash

      stunning color.

    • Vaniljekjeks

Oh you WERQ it girl.  I always knew she could do it!

    • Anonymous

Agreed on all accounts. I would like a whole wardrobe with variations of that dress color.

    • Anonymous

I wonder if it’s hard to force yourself not to smile when a bunch of photographers are snapping away at you??  She looks good, but would look great with a little more smile.

    • Anonymous

      Yawn.

The dress is pretty if a little understated — if TLo hadn’t reported it as Lanvin I would have thought it was a Rami Kashou!  The color is really beautiful, not crazy about the belt.  And she does look a little bored, doesn’t she?

    • Anonymous

She looks tired and jet lagged and tired some more.  I love her little bag.  The bodice of the dress confuses me.

    • Kayley Maybe

Kind of sad that she finally gets a WERQ and she looks so bummed!

Emma’s expression conveys the idea I get from her about her career. She wanted to act and be successful, and alternates between putting up with and enjoying everything the comes with being a star. This night was clearly a ‘putting up with’ night.

And yes, the dress is pretty, but it’s more in the category of safe than WERQ.

    • Anonymous

That bodice .. I really wonder how that was done and is not bunchy or odd feeling

    • Anonymous

She may look special but she doesn’t look like she FEELS special.  She looks bored and tired, at least in this series of photos.  I hope this was a simply a transient moment that was unfortunately immortalized in photographs.  Although it must be eye-rolling to have to be enthusiastic at endless premieres of the same movie……I wonder, does she have to watch it each time?  I hope not.  Ah, well–all this globe trotting and wearing designer clothes comes with the territory of being a beautiful, talented, hot young actress in a hit movie.

Oh, the fashion….sorry, I got distracted.  She looks very good in that dress, and agree about “keep your hair red”.  Wish I could see the shoes!

Can someone who has a better computer screen tell me what color that is? It looks black to me.  I think she looks really nice here, but isn’t a WERQ.  She’s one of my favorites, though, and I do love the red hair.

      • Anonymous

On my screen, it is a deep green/teal (more to the green end of teal but def has some blue in it). I had a Volvo wagon that color. In some lights it looked kind of black, in some dark green, and in other kind of a blue green. I just loved it.

In the second photo, it looks navy. In the others, it looks like a darkish slate blue.

    • Anonymous

In my own little world, this is an In but not a WERQ. I do like everything here, but none of it wows me. Especially because I think she is capable of really bringing the “wow.” The dress is a gorgeous color on her, and I love that clutch with it.

    • Jessica O’Connell

She looks great! Just wish she’d smile. It’s strange to see her not looking happy and/or bubbly… Green always looks good one redheads, be the color natural or out of a box. It’s strange that she isn’t a natural redhead because it really does fit her so well. Hope she does keep it red!

    • Anonymous

Love that color combo. The dress isn’t my favorite shape but very pretty.

    • Laura Shearer

You’re never fully dressed without a smile.

    • Anonymous

I think you’re grading on a curve with this one.

    • Julie Clark

      snoozeville.

    • MilaXX

Dang girl, you look good. What’s with all the blue steel still posing?

    • Anonymous

10cc’s of attitude, posture, and personality stat!

    • Anonymous

She looks beautiful. Her hair is gorgeous.
      Now all she needs is a S M I L E.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=745465637 Nellie Wilson

Lovely look. But honey, you’re young and beautiful. Please smile.

    • Anonymous

Gorgeous. She looks sort of like a young Jodie Foster.

    • Anonymous

Dress fits well. Needs jewelry besides earrings. She is dynamite in red hair. A bit of a forced werq methinks. I’m a little meh cause she’s quite meh in attitude here, though there’s a hint of sass in the last photo. At least she has good posture. Points for that.

    • Anonymous

so she gets a werq for THIS and you deny Uma for nail color. You guys kill me.

    • Anonymous

Love.  The color of the dress make her eyes pop.  And the clutch is gorgeous with it.

    • Wrenaria

So pretty. I agree that red hair is the color for her. Others colors do not suit her nearly so well.

    • http://twitter.com/jennsaysmeow Fifi LaRoux

She looks amazing, but very much in need of a cocktail!

    • Anonymous

I love this!!! She needs to wear color all the time and less beige and light pink.

    • Anonymous

Personally, while I share your love of her red hair, I am sick of her 18 year old mall side bangs. Pin them or cut again, woman. Or at least a less severe part in them might serve you better.

Sorry…I’m just really over side bangs.

    • Anonymous

      she is so beautiful

    • kim i

she looks gorgeous, but REALLY REALLY PISSED.

    • Anonymous

Her outfit looks great. But she don’t look at all pleased to be there.

    • narita_rayna

      she finally looks her age!

    • Anonymous

Smile dahling, you look so pretty. WERQ

    • Lisa

Ehhh… I mean, she’s *dressed*.  So she’s got that going for her, which is nice.

    • Anonymous

Finally something other than white on her.  She looks lovely.

    • Anonymous

She looks like she’s read for a barroom brawl. I mean, she looks gorgeous, but the look on her face is that she wants to f someone up. I’d steer clear.
