Pairs Division: Jackman and Lilly

Posted on October 04, 2011

We would be perfectly fine if these two made babies together. They’d be tall and athletic with great smiles.

HE: Needs to trim the fuzz. We defended him the other day for sporting a one-day growth, which we argued is perfectly fine since the scruffy look is on its third decade and it’s time to accept it. But this is more like a 3 or 4-day growth and he looks a little grungy. The hair, on the other hand, looks spectacular. We’re of the opinion that if you’re going to wear a suit without a tie, then the classic crisp white shirt is the way to go, so we don’t love the business-like blue he’s wearing here. On the other hand, just LOOK at the hem on his pants. Bravo, HJ. We wish he’d get his jackets fitted a little better, though. Score: 8/10.

SHE: Just had a baby and she obviously wants to show her milk factories off. It’s a gorgeous dress on her – just look at that butt. Go ahead. She wants you to. Is it weird that we’re talking about her boobs and her ass like a couple of straight guys? Well, we can’t help it. The latter especially looks great. We love the belt too. Not super-crazy about the messy hair and the makeup looks just a skosh harsh. Maybe not such a red lipstick next time. Score: 7.75/10.

Combined Score: 7.875/10. It’s all about precision here at T Lo Fashion Grading, Ltd.

Oh Hugh Jackman. You are so yummy.

Evangeline – well…. it seems like her body is dramatically paler than her rosy face, which is distracting to me. I don’t feel like the top drapes quite right, or maybe – is that a zipper at the bottom of the v? It’s distracting and stiff. Not really a fan. And don’t care for the hair and lipstick either.  But yeah, I’d kill for an ass like that…  #notinmylifetime

      • Anonymous

I agree — the neckline/shawl collar of the dress are poorly designed & executed.  It’s clunky looking and verging on ugly.

So while she does look asstastic in the dress, I think it’s not really doing her any favors overall.

    • Anonymous

It’s so nice to see people walking the red carpet and looking genuinely pleasant. I get terribly annoyed with all the sourpuss posing, so this was a nice antidote on a Tuesday afternoon. :)

      T&Lo said…
“Is it weird that we’re talking about her boobs and her ass like a couple of straight guys?”

Well…um…gentleman…I don’t think you have to worry about that. Straight guys rarely follow their assessment of boobs and ass with a critical analysis of hair, makeup and accessories.

      …or use the word “skosh.”

      • Anonymous

Exactly. A straight man would have followed the assessment of boobs and ass with a comment about how he’d hit that.  So charming.

      • http://www.katymcdermott.com KatyMightHave

I may have already said this before, scottyf, but if I weren’t straight, female, and married, I’d SO propose to you! I look forward to your comments as much as TLo’s posts!

I think she’s so gorgeous. I love how well she dresses her athletic frame, and I love how she always just looks lit up. Had a major girlcrush on her for the first season of Lost, and then they stopped washing her face. This dress is lovely too, but the only thing that makes that belt look like it cost more than $5 is the fact that it’s patent leather instead of stretchy fabric.

Also, can’t wait to see the movie (which is NOT based on Rock’em Sock’em Robots, but an episode of the Twilight Zone, though I won’t deny the former is probably an influence).

      • http://twitter.com/bredalot Bridget Smith

Ahaha, this kind of sounds like a paid endorsement. Whoops! I’m sleepy today.

(But seriously. RICHARD MATHESON, folks. Granted, he doesn’t have the best track record for film adaptations of his work – I Am Legend, anyone? – but that doesn’t make him any less legendary.)

      • Anonymous

She still looks like she doesn’t wash her face, but who’s looking at her face with that great ass poked out there like that?!

    • Scott Hester-Johnson

Blah blah light blue blah blah whiskers. That man can do whatever he wants and he will still get a 10 from me. The movie, on the other hand…

      • http://www.facebook.com/charlotte.horseman Charlotte Horseman

I know, right?  How does this movie even GET a red carpet?  But whatever…they both look amazing.

    • Anonymous

That’s a great Tom Ford suit.

    • Anonymous

she looks good from odd angles and form the side but the straight on is not pleasing. the sleeves are awful and she isn’t really showing off her tits as much a as shes showing how saggy they can look when nursing and not wearing a bra.

      • Sobaika Mirza

You think THOSE look saggy? Please look into Devine, Loretta and Aguilera, Christina and then we can talk.

    • Anonymous

Jackman is one of those actors who is a lot more attractive in motion than in a still photo, but bravo to him for making an effort most of the time dressing for such events.  She looks great, and has beautiful skin to go with the bone structure and 1000 watt smile, but your “no red” lipstick got me wondering … what shade(s) of lipstick would you guys recommend for her on this outing? This is not exactly a dead red lipstick to begin with …

    • Sara__B

I’m awarding bonus points for the smiles. Smiles are the best accessories of all, and they’re making this already gorgeous pair look positively dazzling. 9.0s for both of them!

    • Anonymous

Whiskers, schmiskers. He’s a 10. Oh, right, he’s ALWAYS a 10. Oh yeah, she looks great, too.

    • Sobaika Mirza

They are so very genetically blessed. He can, quite frankly, wear bearskin and I’d still score him at least a 5.

I wish she’d done something else with the makeup, because that dress fits her very well. DAT ASS.

      • Anonymous

At least if he were wearing a bear skin, his whiskers would make more sense.

I can’t identify what it is that he isn’t *quite* as good looking as he has been. Could it be that time is catching up with him? If so, shame on me.

    • Anonymous

I would score her slightly higher than him, since I think she looks lovely in that long white dress.  I agree her makeup is a bit off.   And I don’t like his 3-4 day fuzz, though everything else looks great.

    • http://profiles.google.com/sara.e.munoz Sara Munoz

T&A was the first thing I noticed, too. And they are fantastic. Anyone can and should appreciate that! :)

    • Anonymous

Before we knock the fuzz, is it for Les Mis….?

      • Sara__B

I didn’t know he was doing Les Mis the movie! Thanks for the heads up.

    • Anonymous

That neckline on her dress is odd. It resembles that funny crevice women with boob jobs end up getting between the melons (or milk factories as you so aptly put it.) Not an attractive plunging neckline.

Facial scruff and all, Hugh’s a 10. He’s tall. he’s clean, his pants are the right length and he always looks pleasant and normal.

    • Anonymous

she looks so happy & its nice to see her on the rc again.  the making a smashing pair.

    • http://profiles.google.com/sara.e.parker Sara Parker

I like the blue shirt on Hugh (but I agree that the scruff is a bit too scruffy), so I’d bump him to a 9/10.
On her, I actually love that classic white dress/red lipstick combo (but agree that the hair is a disappointment), so I’d bump her up to an 8.5.

I definitely think that their combined score should be at least and 8… I mean, look at them! I want to bone him and be her!  They’re doing exactly what they’re supposed to be doing at a movie premiere.

    • Judy_J

If she’s not wearing a bra (and it appears she is not), I hope she brought an extra blouse, cause if she’s nursing the new baby, those “milk factories” have a tendency to leak at the most inopportune times.

    • Anonymous

Hugh looks gorgeous.  I prefer him clean-shaven (I’m the same way with Russell Crowe), but he can do the scruffy okay.  And I almost wept with joy at how beautifully his pants fit.  He should teach these young ‘uns a thing or two about how to dress.

Did you say there’s a woman in these pictures too? :)

    • Anonymous

      They look lovely together.

He needs a shave and she needs a hairdresser.

    • http://twitter.com/hamsteaky Maria Smith

Get his jackets fitted better?? Gentlemen, explain yourselves please!

    • Anonymous

I’m 99.9% straight but my first thought for Ms Lily was “OMG DAT ASS.”  She looks nice!  And I like the bold lip with a white dress.

      • Anonymous

And under clingy white fabric, no less!

    • Vaniljekjeks

That dress is amazingly flattering on her.

    • Anonymous

I adore Evangeline, but I don’t love this color on her. I think white washes her out too much since she’s pretty pasty.

    • Anonymous

Do not like the dress at all.  OUT!  Hugh usually looks great but he just looks good here.

    • Anonymous

“They’d be tall and athletic with great smiles.”

Would they be tall, though?  I’ve always thought of both of these actors as not very tall, but perhaps my perception is wrong.  Both look great, though.

      • http://ggshow.info Victoria Pavlova

Hugh is 6′ 2½” – it’s pretty tall in my book.

    • Brooke Unti

I have a hard time believing that woman is lactating. Where are the nursing pads or inevitable wet spots?

      • Anonymous

HA! I’d have been terrified to go out w/o a bra while lactating.

They both look yummy. She has a gorgeous smile. He has a gorgeous, uh, IS a gorgeous man.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_OYMPLGS7S7467GQMKEWJDJ3N4A Deb

All the ladies drag purses along on these occasions..you’d think they’d at least bother to have a comb in them. Why bother to get all dressed up and let your hair look like you rolled out of bed and pulled it back into a bun?

    • Anonymous

I think straight guys would refer to them as “jugs”, not “milk factories”, and they’d be all “I want a piece of that…”

    • Anonymous

She rates far higher than he does.  Honestly, I simply do not understand the unshaven, tie-less look on men at a première where the women are dressed to the nines.   They need to step it up.

    • Anonymous

      They are perfection…especially Hugh…swoon…

      • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1248212910 Jessie Melcher Brown

And he’s been married for a long time, I love happy endings: (courtesy IMDB)Deborra-Lee Furness(11 April 1996 – present) 2 children

    • Jackie Lee

Yes, it’d be great if they made babies together…but would they please stop making ridiculously stupid movies together?

    • Anonymous

Hugh’s shirt looks faintly lavender to me.  Is that just a trick of the light?  If it actually is a pale lavender, I’d give him major props.

      • http://ggshow.info Victoria Pavlova

It does look lavender-ish to me, not a straight ‘working blue’ in any case

      • MilaXX

I think it’s the lighting. It looks blue to me except in the last photo where is does look a little lavendar-ish.

    • http://www.facebook.com/suzie.vazquez Suzie Vazquez

They look so much better than their movie looks.

    • http://asskickingadviser.com/ Ass Kicking Adviser

Oh fine, just had a baby so she gets a pass. It’s not that she looks bad, just a little lacking in effort. New baby, new body = explains all.
      Hugh = new desktop background.

    • MilaXX

I think Hugh looks great. As long as the collar is properly starched I don’t mind the blue.Everything else is fine, and I do mean FINE. 8.5/10
She looks great. Not crazy about the hair but I like the makeup, red lip included. 8/10
      8.25/10

    • Cathy S

Wow, her butt does look good. I’m not crazy about the rest of it though. I don’t like the neckline at all. Hugh needs a shave, otherwise he’s fine. I like the blue shirt.

    • Anonymous

Hugh = gorgeous, Evangeline = meh

    • Anonymous

Interesting. I just hated on Rachel Zoe’s white maxi dress (which TLO posted later than this, but I saw earlier) and now I’m faced with another– but I love this one! So chic! The difference: Fit and tailoring, bien sur! (Also this one has some style and design to it beyond “fundamentalist Christian teenager’s hand-me-down cotton nightgown”.) LOVE that belt, too, what a great focal point on such a usually challenging area, even for those of us who didn’t just squeeze out a human … she deserves to be damn proud of that new-mom figure. and I like the soft hair; I don’t think it’s sloppy. For some of us, that would be the absolute best we could hope for in humidity, which her shiny face is telling me may be happening there.

And Hugh is so dreamy. Le sigh. It’s a bit heavy on the cheek but it’s so nice to see that some men understand you can skip the cheek but never the neck!

    • Anonymous

such a handsome couple that the clothes seem beside the point

    • Anonymous

I don’t like it how her ears are sticking out of her hair like an elf from The Lord of the Rings.  Pretty dress though.

    • http://profiles.google.com/claudiaberry Claudia Berry

oh she looks great – I am not her biggest fan and I just hope she has breast pads sewn into that dress because if a baby goes waa and she starts lactating it’s totally gonna show :D

    • Anonymous

I think she looks fantastic. I agree that the hair is a little sad, but that lipstick suits the look and her complexion is too pink to go any lighter I think.

      HJ, as usual, looks delicious.

    • Anonymous

I think you guys hit it dead on.

    • Anonymous

Oh she’s pretty, but she’ll always be out and here’s why:

“I spent many nights crying myself to sleep wishing I was ugly because of the way men leered and disrespected me, because they assumed things about my mental capacity or my physical willingness based on the way I looked…..I felt like a whore. You feel like they’re paying to stare at your ass when you’re walking away from the table.”

Poor Evangeline.  If only she could find a career that payed a decent wage and wasn’t 90% based on appearance, I’m sure she’d give up her lucrative acting and cosmetics modelling career in a heartbeat.  Riiiiiiight.  We shouldn’t be judging her.  It makes her feel like a whore.  Look away!

      • Anonymous

Excellent point, hannele79.  I had a friend in college who was naturally beautiful, and who garnered plenty of stares from both men and women.  However, it was her attitude that made all the difference – she never “felt like a whore” or cried herself to sleep “because of the way men leered and disrespected her”. She was smart, she knew it and she respected herself –  and all of that attitude beamed out of her. I don’t think she ever once prayed to be ugly. She became an economist, BTW.  Take that, my poor, precious Evangeline.

    • Anonymous

Hugh Jackman is just beautiful, no matter what. So, no comment (except that one). Evangeline? Nice dress and post-baby bod, but honey, I thought your 15 minutes was already up.

    • Anonymous

I think this is one of the best pairs performances I’ve ever seen. I give them both a 9.

    • Anonymous

Not a fan of the facial scruff but I will give Hugh (but no one else!!) a pass…

    • Anonymous

OK, I’ll be the one to say it. I think his pants are a leeetle short. Maybe 1/4 inch. I thought mens’ pants were supposed to ‘break’ a little, or at least a little more than these do.

But honestly, he’s so gorgeous, what’s the difference? Take the pants OFF for all I care!

    • http://profiles.google.com/thisiscelia Celia

She needs work. The neckline wouldn’t be so weird if the got a better belt (this one looks cheap). She needs one of those big, gold, tassled belts from Gucci last year. And a better updo.

    • Anonymous

I hope that Deborra-Lee Furness, Hugh Jackman’s wife of 15 years, doesn’t read this blog. Your off-handed remark about Lily and him making babies should probably have gone through a sensitivity filter before you hit the publish button.

“Furness had two miscarriages, following which she and Jackman adopted two children, Oscar Maximillian (born 15 May 2000)[67] and Ava Eliot (born 10 July 2005).

I love a bon mot as well as anyone, but careless remarks like that can be quite hurtful to an innocent party. It’s called empathy.

      • Anonymous

It was an innocuous compliment and if the wife of an international sex symbol can’t handle a comment that mild, she shouldn’t read ANY blogs. It’s called hypersensitivity.
TLo can’t (and shouldn’t be expected to) research the personal lives of every celebrity who makes a public appearance before commenting on how good or bad they look. How absurd to call them insensitive for not doing so!
This is not the same as those who ignorantly mocked Michael C. Hall for wearing a skully with his suit at the Golden Globes, AFTER he made a public announcement he was battling Hodgkin’s lymphoma. THAT was insensitive. THIS is *nothing*. I hope you can see the huge difference.

    • Anonymous

Evangeline Lilly’s outfit… looks oddly like the Rachel Zoe outfit next door.

    • Anonymous

Wow, this one is a double WERQ for me.  Makeup and beard issues aside, they both look like movie stars from head to toe, but relaxed and happy.

    • Anonymous

What is up with Hugh? Scruffy for the big movie opening? I think he looks a bit too casual but it is a Disney film afterall. Hugh is looking a bit bit…I like my movie boyfriend when he was a bit beefier.

Ms Lilly: That is a hair don’t.

    • Anonymous

I will go to my grave hating the scruffy look..nothing is more attractive than a well groomed man….Kudos for his hems….others should take note….She looks booty-lishus…..hell I’d do her and I’m gayer than groceries!

    • Anonymous

Has he had surgery?  in the last couple of posts, I cannot put my finger on it but he looks different to me

    • http://www.facebook.com/shawn.eric.hill Shawn Hill

Adam & Eve in the twilight zone. I’d like a movie with them just being together, not talking.

    • Warmheartedgirl Seattle

You’re right, T and Lo, her ass looks fantastic and amazing.  You just want to stroke it.  And I’m straight.  They both look great.  Two beautiful people!

    • frankystein123

      Yummy couple.
