Logan Lerman for DA MAN Magazine

Posted on October 20, 2011

Three Musketeers star Logan Lerman gets his guyditorial for DA MAN mag. Kittens MUCH younger than ourselves are encouraged to weigh in on his hotness because we’d feel like dirty old men if we so much as uttered a peep in that direction.

Logan Lerman for DA MAN Magazine
Logan Lerman covers the October/November 2011 issue of DA MAN magazine.

Seriously, he makes Chris Colfer look positively grizzled in comparison.

Anyway, it’s not a bad little editorial for the guy who wants to look au courant without looking too fussy about it. The looks are all very basic, but make for nice style guide as to how to look put together in the coming season. Best of all, there’s nothing here that can’t be interpreted on a bare-bones budget. You always hear about “clothes for ‘real’ women.” Well, these are clothes for “real” guys, in the sense that just about any guy of any shape or age can look good in them.

Seeing as I’m an almost 47 yo broad, I’ll have to say that he looks adorable here. I like the clothes very much: all slim/trim cut without being too tight and trendy.

    • Anonymous

As an actual 47 yo broad I’m in complete agreement. Adorable is the word and I’m digging the slim looks as well.

    • Anonymous

      Heavens! Is he a fetus?!

He’s cute, but decidedly in that “I babysat him once upon a time and now girls like him and it’s weird” sort of way.

      • Anonymous

Yeah, I feel like that watching the Harry Potter movies. He went from being a cute little guy to a gorgeous man.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_JSGAZPEESHQT47ATH55GNOHHBY Erin

Love the clothes.  The lad himself looks like he shaves every other week and I’m an old lady, so no hotness comments here.

  • Anonymous

Aw, he’s cute.   Suitable for my teenage daughter to adore.

I’d love the clothes if this were a “man on the street” entry, for editorial it’s just meh.

  • Kit Taylor

Forgive the stereotypical teenage girl moment….

    HE’S SO FRIGGEN ADORABLE!!!!

  • http://profiles.google.com/shannonlstewart Shannon Stewart

Speaking for clothes for “real guys”, do you gentlemen have any suggestions on dressing a man who objects to being overheated regularly?  My husband will NOT wear jackets or sweaters because he’s always too warm….

    • http://www.tomandorenzo.com Tom and Lorenzo

Tom doesn’t like sweaters for the same reason – also, because they add bulk to his already bulky frame. Remind your husband that the great thing about jackets is, you can take them off. Then he gets to do that Sinatra thing of dangling it off one finger over the shoulder.

      • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_EDI2DLE7DE3YPW2ONIHBWOVHMA ecallaw

Oh my goodness, I just realized what a psycho loon fangirl I’ve become.  I got SO excited to see y’all directly respond to one of the regulars!  I don’t think I’ve ever seen y’all do that that unless you were bitch-slapping someone for a really stupid comment (which I love too).

      • Rand Ortega

This is exactly why I miss the “Ask TLo” portion of this wonderful blog. Pls restore that wonderful bon mot to the site, guys. Your advice is & was wonderful. I, for 1,  could really use some fashion tips from such learned fashionistas. Unborn Fauns & Bitter Kittens?

  • http://www.facebook.com/mary.nease Mary Nease

He just *barely* clears my age threshold, though I still feel a little cougarish (he’s 19 and I’m 21). He’s cute- he’s too baby-faced for me to call hot. Maybe in five years, he’ll have matured to that.

And is it just me, or does he look mildly irritated in all of these pics?

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Micaela-Cannon/1465504041 Micaela Cannon

I should have read the posts before responding, because I’m the same age as you and said the same thing….I would have never guessed he was even that close in age to us though.

      • http://www.facebook.com/mary.nease Mary Nease

Same here! According to wikipedia, he turns 20 in January, which is kind of wtf. But then again, I get mistaken for 15/16 all the time too, so I can’t really hold it against the guy.

        • Anonymous

So with you. 23 apparently going on 17, apparently. Also shocked re: his age.

    • Anonymous

He’s 19?  Really?  He looks about 13 to me.  Seriously.

I think he’s darling.  I think the photos are flat and boring.

    • http://twitter.com/TheRedZavodnik Ginger

He doesn’t look any older than my 15 year-old son…who would look very nice wearing any of these clothes.

    • Anonymous

Logan had a permascowl when he was just a newly fertilized egg on the show “Jack and Bobby” so it’s just his face.

    • http://profiles.google.com/ballinger.jl Jessica Ballinger

He’s NINETEEN?  I would have guessed 15, especially in the pic with the striped sweater.

  • Anonymous

How old is he– because, at 24, I still feel dirty eyeing him up.

    • http://www.facebook.com/mary.nease Mary Nease

He turns 20 in January, according to Wikipedia.

      • Anonymous

Geuh, he was born in 1992! I can’t ogle a product of the 90s. :C Even if it IS only a four-year difference.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_QRE7WY4NNCLIFWCTYEXDHZRNRE Jennifer

All I can think is that he looks nothing at all like he did in Percy Jackson — he looked older then and that was what — 3 years ago?. The person who in my house will like this movie is nine years old. So I hope like hell that hotness does’t come up. Cuteness I am OK with.

    • Sarah Thomas

Oh crap, he was Percy Jackson? That was one of the most disappointing movies I’ve ever paid full price to see.

    • Anonymous

This is EXACTLY what I thought! he’s aging in reverse!

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_EDI2DLE7DE3YPW2ONIHBWOVHMA ecallaw

What?  I saw Percy Jackson, and he looks completely different!

  • Anonymous

See, all of a sudden I’m feeling really, really young… I’m in my very early twenties and I actually went to SLEEP AWAY CAMP with Logan. Which suddenly doesn’t feel so long ago, since he looked exactly the same as this. Clothes are cute, and he’s cute, but in a want-to-pinch-his-cheeks kind of way. Not like, I sat at his table at arts and crafts and developed a huge crush on him once upon a time.

    • Anonymous

they let girls and boys go to sleep-away camp together now?  i was born way too soon.  don’t think he would have been my type.  but then, i was pretty desperate in middle school.

      • http://profiles.google.com/shannonlstewart Shannon Stewart

Yeah, though not in the same cabin — there are girl buildings and boy buildings, just like a lot of coed dorms have girl floors and boy floors.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=645442822 Sophia Vaccaro

OH MY GOD. i am so jealous. so you did develop a huge crush on him? ahahahah…i would have too.

  • Anonymous

    Adorable.

2x in 1 day I’m commenting on no socks with shoes…eww.  NO to this if it’s a trend.

  • Anonymous

“Tlo said: Kittens MUCH younger than ourselves are encouraged to weigh in on his hotness because we’d feel like dirty old men if we so much as uttered a peep in that direction.”

Well, I’m more Grizabella than kitten, but I’d say he wouldn’t have been my type even when I was 12. But even so, these pictures don’t do him justice – they are very awkward-looking. This is either bad photography, bad picture editing or someone who doesn’t know how to work with the camera (or some combination of the three).

  • laura Medeiros

He looks younger here than he did in Hoot!

  • Joe J

I tease, but it looks like an excerpt from “The Catholic Schoolgirls’ Field Guide to Non-Threatening Boys”.

Very cute kid in very cute clothes – love the shirts in the first three photos.

    • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

Oh Joe, Joe, Joe.  I think you just made my morning with “Catholic Schoolgirls’ Field Guide to Non-Threatening Boys”

    • Anonymous

I think I speak for the mothers of many teenage girls when I say: please tell me where I can buy a copy.

      • Joe J

Try Amazon – they usually offer it as a twofer with the follow-up health manual “The Sinful Catholic Girl’s Guide to an Immaculate Conception (You Just Wouldn’t Listen, You Wicked Girl)”.

        • Anonymous

That reminds me, I should look up chastity belts on Amazon. They probably have some.

  • MilaXX

He looks good, but this might as well be an ad for gap kids cause this guy looks about 12 to my old eyes.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Micaela-Cannon/1465504041 Micaela Cannon

I’m 21, and If I have to guess I’d say this kid is like 15. Which makes it wrong for me to judge him too I guess. But I’ll try to speak for my(ish) generation and deem him not hot. Baby faces aren’t sexy. Cute maybe, but not hot.

  • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

He looks pretty nicely styled and put together.  What is he? 12?  Jeebus!!!   I have one absolute though.  No shoes without socks EVER.  I don’t care how trendy it is, its damned uncomfortable.  Feet get sweaty enough without direct contact with the insoles of shoes.

    • Anonymous

“Feet get sweaty enough…” which is exactly why I detest the same look for women, i.e., no hose/stockings.  Danged uncomfortable and sweaty.  Hardly glamorous.

      • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_EDI2DLE7DE3YPW2ONIHBWOVHMA ecallaw

I agree that socks help with that, but my feet get even sweatier with hose.

    • http://profiles.google.com/shannonlstewart Shannon Stewart

I would like an exception to that rule — I do (occasionally) wear my Vibrams FiveFingers (think toe socks but in shoe form) without socks, though never when I’m running.  Socks for those damn things are $15 PER PAIR!  And you have to buy them at REI, which I find ultra-upsetting every time I’m in there… it’s full of yippies and campers.  (If you don’t know what a yippie — cross between a yuppie and a hippie — is, spend some time in Madison WI… it’s their breeding ground.)

But I no longer have backaches or shin splints and my calves look freaking amazing:)

      • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

Well those are an entirely different game from regular shoes.  I happily grant you my dispensation to wear then sans socks. (nice of me, no?)  In fact, having seen them around I had no idea that socks for them were even available.

  • Anonymous

he looks like he is 15, very cute from an “aunt” perspective

  • Anonymous

    Cute  I love his oxfords.

Those are dressed up clothes for the average college kid.  Mine should wear these clothes.

    • Anonymous

I’d die of happiness if more of my college students dressed like this. LOVE the striped sweater. Mostly it’s baggy jeans, t-shirts and hoodies. Sometimes it’s – gulp – athletic shorts and tshirts. The occasional skinnyjean’d hipster boy is almost a treat for one’s eyes after so much bland male “fashion.” [note: this is not because I want to ogle the 18-year-old boys on campus. they all look like they're 12. I'm just offended at the utter lack of effort they put into dressing].

      • Anonymous

I know. Same here.  I am pleased when they have on shoes.

      • Anonymous

Sometimes I am happy if the clothes are just clean.

      • http://profiles.google.com/shannonlstewart Shannon Stewart

You missed one — cargo shorts.  The bane of my existence.

And guys in the crowd, if you MUST wear them (because you have a deep seated fear of sexual contact, I assume), why, OH WHY, must they be made so poorly and out of such awful material?

slightly too young for me but he is cute

The haircut he has on the movie poster made me think they were doing a stempunk update with a female D’Artagnan and I got all excited. I still think he looks like a cute little lesbian.

    • http://www.facebook.com/mary.nease Mary Nease

Omigod, he’s totally dressed like my college’s GSA president, who’s this really androgynous lesbian. Cannot unsee now.

I’m still a young kitten!  So, um, therefore I think I’m allowed to say “yum.”

He looks like my son.  (and checking IMDB, he is the same age!)  Very adorable.  I want to pat him on the head and feed him a healthy lunch.

  • http://twitter.com/PhDKnitter marlie

Cute, but he looks like he’s 12.

  • Anonymous

He’s adorable. I’m not sure he’s old enough to be considered “hot” (that sounds better than I’m too old to consider him hot ), so let’s just say he’s cute in a what a good-looking young man kind of way. I got BF a blue gingham shirt like the one on the cover and it looks good on him with jeans. He didn’t like it at first, but when he got compliments on it, he looked at me and said, hey you DO know what you’re talking about. Hello, of course I do. I read TLo every day.

  • http://twitter.com/ryenerman rynerman

Am much to old to weigh in on the hotness factor – he is too young for me to think of him as anything but someone who could be my son. Cute/fun clothing for a boy I guess?

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=513945580 Megan Patterson

    I’m 25, and I think he looks 12.

Which Musketeer was 12 years old?

I dunno. When I look at him, I expect to hear a voiceover by Daniel Stern talking about race riots and Winnie Cooper.

Who is this man-child and why is he on my TLo morning round-up?  Away with you, young scally-wag.  Don’t you have some homework to do?

  • http://twitter.com/coheny Coelha

Well, I’m 21 and still think he looks about fourteen. A cute fourteen years old boy in great clothes.

  • Anonymous

HOW OLD IS THIS GUY? 12? Clothes are real basic, almost to a SEARS catalog level. Still he looks good and the pics are free of flip flops and backward baseball caps. My 13-year old niece thinks Logan would be a good stand by if she can’t marry Damien from the Glee Project (and Celtic Thunder).

Oh no! Roll up cuffs on jeans…again? Please Lord, NO!

  • http://twitter.com/Juliaismagic Julia

I’m 18, so I’ve always had a bit of a thing for him (just LOOK at those eyes and jaw), but these pictures make me feel a little creepy. Why does he look SO young? The cover honestly makes him look like a 12 year old. He’s normally a sexy young lad, and the clothes work very well on him, but I am very much disturbed by the fact that he is actually 19 and doesn’t look it. Has he been airbrushed? THIS IS RIDICULOUS.

  • Anonymous

    Call me in 20 years.

    stop already guys, really……

I really like all these clothes. If I had a teenage son, I would want him to dress like this!
I cannot believe this kid is 19! He looks about 14 here.

  • A. Valera

    More like “Da Boy”.

  • Anonymous

    Aw bless.

What is he, 13?  Way too young for anyone, except his fellow 13-year-olds, to be discussing his hotness or lack thereof.

Regular guy clothes. Love that. Reminds me of Ben on “Parks and Recreation”. I love his style, so basic and he is adorbs. **Adam Scott swoon**
This guy is cute, I guess. Hard to see much beyond jailbait.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_3AJ237ND3GAHDQJZ4TLCO4WLRA Emily

    What a cutie patootie.

  • Sara__B

Aw. He’s on the cuteness meter right next to puppies and kittens.

  • Julian Betkowski

He looks like he’s sixteen. Is he sixteen? At twenty-eight I feel like a perv. That shouldn’t happen.

  • Anonymous

That striped sweater is awesome. I have no comment on the youth. Anyone know where that sweater is from? It’s not on the online article.

  • http://profiles.google.com/ballinger.jl Jessica Ballinger

He’s a baby!  I want to take him trick or treating!

  • Anonymous

That look he’s giving in both the sportcoat pictures?  My 3-year-old gives me that EXACT look.  And I roll up his cuffs too!

  • Jessica O’Connell

He’s adorable and he looks 16…

  • http://twitter.com/lbcubbison Laurie Cubbison

I have to say, as a college professor, that I’m so happy to see slim cut styles for young men becoming fashionable. I’ve been so tired of the boys who dress like barrels with short, stubby legs.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Catherine-Rhodes/602850414 Catherine Rhodes

He is completely neutered. No wonder the little girls like him.

  • http://www.beautifymylifeblog.com Jessica

He looks like an infant, but he’s adorable.

  • oohsparkley!

Since he’s 19, he’d probably be really disappointed that more of the younger posters aren’t calling him hot.  He shouldn’t worry, this forum isn’t his target audience.  He has probably learned to work that adorable-ness to his advantage.  I have kids older than him, but I remember being young, and we all aspired to be hot (to our target audience).

  • Lila Sadkin

He’s younger than my little brother, who’s only 20. Can’t comment on hotness, but he is cute in a little brother way. Hate the rolled up pants with bare feet in shoes. Rolled up pants on guys are only okay with sandals or bare feet at the beach. Other than that, adorable. Love the tie in the last picture. If there’s such a thing as a casual tie, that’s it, and it’s age appropriate and cute.

  • Anonymous

He looks about 14, which is kinda young for anyone who’s legal.

But pleasant looking, and scruffed up a bit he might overcome his baby face and be hot. For someone1/3 my age.

    • Anonymous

Clothes? Huh? They’re so ‘real guy’ that they’re kind of unnoticeable. Of course they look great on him, he’s 19 and slim. The jackets are way nicer than you’ll find at Sears, though.

  • Julie Fountain

He looks just like a kid I used to babysit when he’d play dress up in his dad’s closet.

  • M Carlson

Good lord, is he even legal? So YOUNG!

    He’s what… six years old?

  • Anonymous

He looks like a 5 year old in that last picture.

  • Anna Kane

From the view of a 13 year old girl: OMG HE IS SO HOT EEEEEEEEEEE. Everyone I know loves him. And he looks fabulous here.

  • Joshua

I’ll do you two a favor and happily offer my (heavily biased) opinion. Not only is he a total hottie, Lerman is a real heart throb in that precocious Zac Efron sort of way. He still has room for growth, but men aren’t made overnight, after all, and we younger folk need someone other than Shia LeBoring to squee over. The clothes look classic and great and he looks great in them, with the exception of those jeans which hug him a bit too much for that kind of relaxed look. Still, not bad at all, and you have to love what they’ve done with his hair when defaulting to the floppy fringe is so typical for boylebrities. If only he were gay. Hey, a boy can dream. :)

  • http://twitter.com/jennsaysmeow Fifi LaRoux

I’m only 29, but I’m pretty sure I can be considered a cougar when it comes to him. That said, he’s so adorable, and I love the clothes.

He does look quite nice in this spread, but even I feel like a dirty old man looking at that baby face, and I’m only 23.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1264609232 Samantha Ritchie

i think hes a total babe…but i AM his target audience…so its cool. but there are other photos out there that have him looking more mature than this….

  • Anonymous

He looks like a Sexy Wally Cleaver.

  • Alyson Lamble

Like the boy, like the clothes, do not like the way they styled the boy IN the clothes.  He looks younger in these pictures than he did in the Percy Jackson movie, which he shot almost three years ago!

  • Anonymous

I had to look up his age, because he looks about twelve here.  Justin Bieber looks older than he does.  Turns out he’s only three years younger than I am.
As for the shoot, I think he looks great.  And I really like the first picture in the suit with the plaid shirt, but regardless of his real age, his face looks waaaaay too pre-teen for it to be hot.

  • http://twitter.com/aStudiobytheSea Jody Lee

He looks extremely bland.  And my tween probably will never forgive him for the bad Percy Jackson movie. She’d probably prefer a spread featuring Rory O’Malley, being a tween of high standards.

Logan Lerman is the hottest Jewish boy ever.

  • http://twitter.com/metzjg Obrie Bra

Why is there no reference to Logan Lerman being a Jew in this article? You felt the need to call Lea Michele a “Jew” even though her mother is not Jewish and she was raised Catholic. By that standard, since Logan Lerman is the Jewish son of two Jews, you should not have simply called him Jewish, but a Hasidic Rabbi. I’m sure you’ll fix this next time?

  • Anne StJean

As a near baby, I feel that it is lawfully permissible for me to tell you my opinion. He is freaking adorable, in a lost boy kind of way, and him in the outfit with the sweater makes me swoon.
