It appears to be “Bow Down to British Men” day here on T Lo International Style Bitchery, Inc., but come ON.

Billy Elliot grew up to be HOT.

You couldn’t pay us to watch that Tintin movie because Spielberg’s tendency to overgeek things at the expense of relatability has left the film, from what we can see, firmly in the Uncanny Valley (Don’t get us started on geek filmmakers and their over-reliance on motion capture tech), but the boy does take a fierce picture, no?

I feel so pervy.  But, yes, that lad has grown up to be a full-on hottie.

      Right!?!  (On both accounts)

Yeah, he was super sexy even as the passive aggressive St John Rivers in “Jane Eyre” (and the only tolerable part of the execrable “Jumper”).

    • Anonymous

He really was the only thing that truly made Jumper watchable. Such a great concept but not very well executed.

I wouldn’t mind if it was Bow Down to British Men every day…

    And Jamie Bell <3

Ugh, Tintin is going to rest firmly in the uncanniest valley ever. NOT going to see. Waiting for Jamie Bell’s next movie instead.

I don’t know guys, usually motion capture stuff like The Polar Express or the Jim Carrey version of A Christmas Carol gives me the heebie jeebies in a big way but I don’t get that from the clips I’ve seen of Tin Tin; it just looks like a cartoon.

Love you two even more for the Billy Elliot reference. I’ve been on a Billy kick recently and so I’ve had the musical soundtrack playing constantly for the past two days or so. Such a delightful film/story.

Nothing much to say about the guy himself, but then I don’t exactly swing that way so I’ll take your word for it.

  • Mike Rhone

I love a man who throws out a casual reference to the Uncanny Valley.

  • Anonymous

i’m glad yous twos know what the uncanny valley is, and identify it thusly. also, being a film major, j’adore your critiques. always.

    Love me some Jamie Bell!

Jamie Bell will forever be Channig Tatum’s adorable, in their own words, “leading lady” from the Eagle to me. That movie really made me love them both. He looks great in all of these pics, my fave of which is the dog one

Have you seen the alternate ending for that movie? The one where they decide to move to Spain and raise horses together? ‘Cause they’re soulmates?

      • Anonymous

I haven’t since I really need to pick it up on blu ray, but I am so looking forward to this! I also got the book, which I here also has an amazing ending where Marcus and Esca go off together.

  • Anonymous

I like the last picture with the dog!

:( I had to google ‘uncanny valley’. Sometimes it’s hard for us women in the 40—death camp to be geeky enuf.
He’s cute, but I’ve also never seen Billy Elliot; it was on my Netflix queue til I opted out.

While my librarian self is appalled by the treatment of the old National Geographic magazines, I must admit he takes a damn fine photograph.

  • Anonymous

    An all-around meh from me.

Doesn’t do anything for me either.  I haven’t seen Billy Elliott, but I did like him in Nicholas Nickelby.

    • Alisa Rivera

Ditto. Unfortunate ears and chin. Maybe he’s better if you actually see him acting (I haven’t) but the stills are underwhelming.

  • Jessica Rowe

Jump on that bed, Billy boy!

Wow, the first post today that I’ve found nothing to bitch about! (I’m an exceptionally Bitter Kitten today.)  In that last picture, I’m getting the distinct vibe that he wants me to shoo the dog away with a treat (I love dogs), then knock him out of his chair and rip his clothes off.

And honey…you can leave your hat on. :)

I saw him earlier this year in The Eagle – he was worth every cent I paid to see this movie. He’s only 2 years younger than me so I feel I can droll all I want : )
I’ll definitely check TinTin – love the comics, probably more popular here in France.

I can’t get excited about someone who’s been cast as Tin-tin. I mean really. He’s NOT SEXY. He’s a BOY.

  • Anonymous

How old is he now? (i.e. Exactly how dirty should I feel?)

  • Anonymous

    Oh he’s 25! I’m totally fine!

  • Anonymous

He’s four years older than me, so I feel I am more than allowed to say HOT DAMN.

  • MilaXX

Loved both billy Elliot and Jumper, but based on Spielberg’s latest offerings I’m giving Tin Tin a bit of side eye. I’ll wait for a few more reviews before I give up my $12

  • Joshua

“Billy Elliot grew up to be HOT.”

I have watched a few bad films just because of that fact. Despite some of the films he’s been in, I have to say he remains an impressive actor (at least, I don’t think I’m too biased on that account).

  • Anonymous

My goodness, that’s what I’d expect a living Tintin to look like! But maybe Speilberg 35 years ago or so might have been a better director for the film?

    • http://phdoula.blogspot.com Rebecca

Really? I have a hard time envisioning a real life Tintin because he’s drawn so cartoony (that hair! that little snub nose!) but this isn’t really what I would envision. Less stubble, for one.

  • Anonymous

Oh my GAWD he’s adorable!  I want to tackle him and hug him to death.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_OLSER5H3A6FPBAZOEIQIOBHAYM Elizabeth Rust

Oh, yes, the lad’s grown up nicely! [Though in Billy Elliot he grew up to be Adam Cooper, who is very fine indeed {grin}.]  I’ve enjoyed some of Bell’s roles, but he hasn’t had one as good as Billy Elliot yet, and I fear that the Tintin film won’t change that – though (Uncanny Valley notwithstanding) I am a bit curious to see the movie. A wait-for-cable, maybe.

    • Joshua

It’s really hard to top Billy Elliot, to be fair, and a couple of the films he’s been in were REALLY bad (viz. Jumper and The Eagle).

  • Anonymous

He is a very talented actor, and so very photogenic.

brits day. I declare today british gene pool drool day! My current crush and the two hot brits here, just make this perfect.

Mebbee. But The Aviator was awesome.  I’ll see TIntin for sure, and that is PERFECT casting.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_3JSTXMWWVZN2QNP2UEKJMTWD7U Isabel

You have to see him in Defiance. He falls in love with the same girl who played Jane Eyre. (Plus there are other hotties in that film.)

  • Damien Washington

    Mmmm…Daddy like.

  • http://twitter.com/LordZoe zoe lord

tintin is going to be fab bitches! mark my words (and watch out for the reviews…)

    • http://twitter.com/ms_smartiepants Beth M.

it had better be! I mean…Simon Pegg! and Nick Frost! and helllooo Tony Curran! I will have to be seeing this movie even if it turns out to be terrible

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Catherine-Rhodes/602850414 Catherine Rhodes

Not really, on the fab picture question. He has exactly the same expression in each shot. Doesn’t work for me.

  • Anonymous

Wow, look at you all growed up. And looking hot.

I’ll be steering clear of Tintin and the uncanny valley though.

  • http://profiles.google.com/dorothymichael Dorothy & Michael n/a

He was hot even in his Billy Elliott days!  Just in a  more innocent way….

  • http://twitter.com/TMamBo Therese Bohn

He reminds me of a young Kirk Douglas — especially in the second to last picture.  Ah youth!

  • http://www.thehomestyledirectory.com/a/ sabinad

    My how he has grown!

  • http://thedailyespresso.blogspot.com/ Modigliani

I didn’t know a person could look that sexy while drinking milkshakes. Yum.
