We’re of two minds about this look from Jessica. Which is good, since, despite the joined-at-the-hip lifestyle that has us spending all day, every day within 20 feet of each other (there aren’t that many blogging couples out there for a reason), we are, literally, of two minds.
Anyway, hit it, Jessica:

First mind: It’s cute; it’s sassy; it’s different. We are always going to sit up and take notice when a gal hits a red carpet in something other than a folded-napkin or lace (or lacey folded napkin) cocktail dress. We like the blue velvet skirt (which we suppose is part of a blue velvet dress) most of all. And the look has an overall relaxed chic feel to it that we respond well to.
Second mind: That blouse is droopy, droopy, droopy. We’re kind of digging the idea of a sheer blouse over a dress, but we’re not sure this was the way to go. The placement of that … black stuff (embroidery? Sharpie pen?) is very unfortunate because it’s forming an optical illusion that places her breasts down at her waist. Also, aren’t we done with the heavy black tights paired with black shoes thing? And isn’t that bag awfully showy for such a relaxed look?
Kittens make the call:
IN! Cute and sassy!
OUT! Droopy and depressing!
Voting on Madeleine Stowe’s lingerie is still open.
