Wow. I wish I lived in an alternate universe where I could wear that shiny dark red suit and not feel ridiculous (or like something out of Dick Tracy or Janet Jackson’s “Alright” video). Anyone watch Fringe? I’m sure the “over there” version of me already owns it, rocks it, and goes to cool lounges in his NY.

Hmmm.  I don’t know whether it’s the clothes or the models or both, but it’s all a bit too androgynous for my tastes.

This editorial is the epitome of cool. Stylish without being painfully overwrought. Love it. And love those gorgeous men.

Said it before and I’ll say it again. The Asians almost always get it right.

These looks are awesome…all except the granny sweater, which makes me has a sad (even if it were on a woman, STILL sad).

What is the cover model’s name? (don’t know if they’re named left to right or what.)  I figure he must be the powerhouse here, because IMO he got all the best looks to wear!

Well, that and the fact that I could gladly spend the rest of my life studying the angles of his gorgeous face.

      • Anonymous

It’s Hao Yunxiang and I think it’s pretty obvious why he’s cover boy. Yum.

        • Anonymous

What a spectacularly beautiful man. The gene gods were very kind and generous to him and I am grateful.

        Like x a million.

“What is the cover model’s name? (don’t know if they’re named left to right or what.)”
Chinese names put last name first and first name last. To break it down: Hao (郝) is this guy’s family name. Yun-Xiang (允祥) is his given name. The old fashion way is to follow western style when writing Chinese names in English (ex. YoYo Ma). I guess You Ming, the first Chinese NBA player, is the one who started the trend to keep Chinese names in original form.

        • Anonymous

LOL no! :)  I meant that I didn’t know if their names were LISTED in the order they were in the picture, left to right!

(I’m totally familiar with the Chinese and Japanese to Western name conversions, from film directors and actors/actresses.)

          • Anonymous

yuju ti was being informative and helpful… hao yun-xiang IS the cover model’s name.

Gorgeous pictures. But I cannot fathom the design process behind those boots in the 5th picture.
They might be helpful in case one’s snowed in without a shovel.

These are fantastic.  They make me wish I were a man so I could wear them.  Love those hats.  Love it all, really.

    • narita_rayna

      fierce! FIERCE!!!

    • http://twitter.com/jelizap Jane Patterson

Damn. I want that shiny red suit. Also, why does so much Chinese/Korean fashion photography manage to make utterly nonsensical layers look totally reasonable?

    • Anonymous

Wow. Talk about fierce. I’m more excited by these clothes than most of the women’s wear I’ve seen lately. Super hot models.
I’d say Hao Yun Xiang and Hao Yunxiang are one and the same, though.

    • muzan-e

Sometimes, you know, a friend will glance over my shoulder and I’ll have to tell them: Hey, now… I just read TLo for the articles.

      Today, no-one believes me.

    • Tru Nguyen

Love David Chiang. Didn’t Lagerfield tell him he was a beautiful Chinese girl once?

      • Anonymous

Right! And his deadpan answer: ‘Thank you.’ I vaguely remember the interview. He seemed like a really nice guy.

    • MilaXX

Now this is some serious pretty. Not sure who could wear that red velvet suit or the coat with the lady on it, although I think Alan Cummings, Johnny Weir and David Arquette could all try.

    • Anonymous

Can’t take my eyes off the cover model.

    • Denny Li

So HOT! The funny thing is that one of my cousins has Hao Yun Xiang’s look around the jaws, eyes, cheekbones, and nose, but alas, my cousin’s proportions are just off enough so he’s a meh, as opposed to gorgeous.

    • Anonymous

I’m feeling the need to go buy a red suit.

Great editorial and I love how cool and stylish they look

    • Anonymous

I would love to live in a world where men dressed like this.

    • Anonymous

Wow, that cover model is gor-geous.

    • Anonymous

      Completely fabulous.

Only regret – that it’s not as way out there over the top fantasy as a lot of the women’s shows we’ve seen from China.

    • http://profiles.google.com/thisiscelia Celia

SO HOT I could roast s’mores on this editorial.

    • http://www.facebook.com/devin.christopher17 Devin Christopher

I LOVE the boots in pic #4! Does anyone know the designer? TLo? lol

    • Anonymous

Carmen San Diego, eat your heart out

    • Anonymous

      Gorgeous, the cover especially.

Are these not some of the SKINNIEST men ever? Skinnier than the average western male model, I think.

    • http://www.facebook.com/CatherineKatz Catherine Katz

Love the whole thing!  The cover shot bothers me with the photographer’s shadow all over the model’s legs.  It’s in my way (and very poorly done!).  I know it’s there by choice – I hope?

    • Anonymous

The hats are fugly, sorry. A couple of the models look smart but I hate, hate, hate the prints in look four. And the belts on the outside of the jackets look very Dorothy Zbornak to me.

    • Anonymous

What’s that in number 5? A smoking jacket? Lurv.

    • Helen C

wow, cover boy is HAWT.  hopefully he gets featured in more stuff so we can see his gorgeous face again and again…

    • http://twitter.com/evagination Kendra Lynn

Hot as hell.  Whoops, gotta go back and look at the clothes now…

    • http://tigergray.blogspot.com/ Tiger Gray

I want every single one of those coats.

    • Cheri Lee

Somebody please send the guy on the cover to my house! WERQ THAT SHIT!

    • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

      YOWZA!!!!!

Finally a men’s editorial with the same panache and energy of a women’s one.  These guys look great, the clothes are to die for and the styling is spot on!

    • http://twitter.com/Alloyjane Alloy Jane

SO much love for this spread.  Imagine:  a world where all male models look like men and NOT TEENAGERS.  Gorgeous, gorgeous pack of guys and yes, cover dude is haaaaaaawt.  I officially need this magazine.

    • Anonymous

TLo, how did you know that Asian guys are my favorite?  Love it.  Third to last picture is HOT.  And I totally agree with Kiltdntiltd, it’s nice to see a guys’ editorial where they’re actually DOING something, not just sitting/standing around looking pouty or angsty.

    • Anonymous

Wow, who is the designer of these clothes?  Some very interesting items, and the photography is great—-although NOTHING can save that plaid suit/different plaid coat combination.

      • http://www.tomandorenzo.com Tom and Lorenzo

        Info added.

    • Anonymous

Is it me as an Asian woman, or do the Chinese have a tendency to present their men as mean and agresssive looking?

    • Anonymous

Now this is how you do it. Nice. Cover guy is spectacular and I’m digging David Chiang’s androgyny thing going on here. Okay, I’m done trying to form words. Just very very nice.

    • http://twitter.com/anacedillo Ana Cedillo

      wooowwww. that is all

    • http://profiles.google.com/trashilove { edi } ilovetrash

i think it’s the best mens’ editorial you’ve ever posted.
i just wish i knew who made the clothes.

      edited to add:
except– just lace the shoes already! it’s old, it’s been a thousand years or so of people being defiant w/ their shoelaces.

    • Anonymous

I’m not usually a fan of male models, but these guys are gorgeous! It also helps that they’re wearing wearable clothes, instead of that horrid, unflattering crap that constitute 99% of what male models have to wear on the runway.

    • http://twitter.com/applecocola Stacy

As a Taiwanese, sometimes it boggles me why fashion can be so FIERCE right across the strait on the Mainland, but here in Taiwan the mainstream idea of fashion is cutesy. CUTESY IS NOT FASHION FORWARD cutesy is a default that never offends and therefore never garners passionate approval. Japan also churns out so many fierce models and fashion trends, but Taiwan in its blind mimicry of Japanese culture never seems to pick up on that, only the obscene and cute trends. WHY.

    • scottyf

      Oh my.

I am thinking very, very inappropriate thoughts involving these young men. Exquisite.

On a fashion note: I will be very happy when the trend of belting blazers is over. However I have to admit that a couple of these looks are particularly suave.

    • http://www.facebook.com/raweiser Rachel Weiser

Oh my god, long hair is way prettier than me. JEALOUS AND AROUSED? I’m confused.

    • Anonymous

WERQ!!  This photoshoot looks like it must have been fun to style.  Love the “Dick Tracy” vibe, although I’m not sure about the belts over the jackets…  they do help in the layered looks though.

I’m convinced some rock star needs the last coat with the Eve and snake picture, but I’m not sure exactly who.  Lenny?  Slash?

    • http://twitter.com/LianaBrooks Liana Brooks

Fierce is right! I don’t think I’ve seen a guy WERQ red like that before. Delicious.

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/William-Swoope/1555546563 William Swoope

I would commit unspeakable acts of depravity for that Philip Lim Coat

I don’t particularly like the clothes, but I LOVE the models.

Wow I love that last coat.  It screams crazy but in a good way.  I’m suddenly wishing that my husband had better taste!!!

The one with the hair is GORGEOUS. Can we get him in American mags now?

    • Anonymous

The cover model is exquisite – he could cut diamonds with that jaw line.

oh, uhm, yeah the clothes are cool as well – many a rock star or edgy fashion guy could pull off that print coat in the last photo.

now THAT’s how you do a men’s editorial! bravo!

    • Anonymous

Nice! Those guys are gorgeous, especially Mr. Cover Man. Hate some of the shoes, though.

    • Anonymous

All of it, GORGEOUS: the men, the clothes, the styling. Love it.

There are some beautiful pieces here, but the way some of them are put together, it’s pure pimp-wear. Granted, a very successful pimp with the most expensive “girls” in town, but a pimp nonetheless. Or is it just me?

    • Carey Cauthen

So busy looking at that long-haired model that I forgot to look at the clothes whenever he was in the picture! Can I have him?

… oh yes, clothes. I approve :) Like these looks!
