Elisabeth Moss in Douglas Hannant

Posted on October 06, 2011

Oh, Miss Lizzie! You are making us so very happy!

Elizabeth Moss attends the premiere of AMC’s “The Walking Dead” 2nd Season in Los Angeles, California in a Douglas Hannant dress paired with Christian Louboutin shoes.

Douglas Hannant Fall 2011 CollectionDouglas Hannant Fall 2011 Collection

Look at you, wearing a dress that’s not the same color as your skin! Look at you, looking all sexy! We won’t even mention the toe  cleavage or the fact that you need to put some color in your face for picture-taking! We don’t even care that it’s such a basic dress! You keep this up and you may get a “WERQ” out of us yet, girl.

She models the dress well, but her face is all washed out. A step in the right direction, but not there yet.

    • Anonymous

A red lip would have helped, but I heart the dress.

      • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1326120071 Gaby Ripoll

I think she would do well to become acquainted with a brow pencil. A little more emphasis on her wonderfully expressive face!

        • Anonymous

I agree. Actually, I was thinking some mascara would help.

    • http://profiles.google.com/thisiscelia Celia

Christ on a stick, put some makeup on, girl!

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Jessica-TallGirl-Freeman/1043623567 Jessica TallGirl Freeman

Oh her face looks funny.  And her hair looks like mine did in ninth grade. And that so is not a good thing.

    • Anonymous

      • Sobaika Mirza

Ugh. Her hair AND face are both greasy.

  • http://twitter.com/adoreadora Dora B.

  • http://twitter.com/DresswithAplomb Aplomb Pomilio

Man, her face looks like it’s had all the contrast photoshopped out of it. Weird effect.

  • Anonymous

Ugh. No. I’m starting to get annoyed at her for not working with what she’s got.

  • Anonymous

Red lipstick and an eyebrow pencil would have made a huge difference!

  • Anonymous

I love her. But is it just the pose, or are her feet weird?

    • Anonymous

She definitely has curved Barbie feet in the last shot!

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_2CNDPMVO4W23R5TVC2QMTJ5BZE Heather

I don’t think her feet are weird, just stuffed into shoes that are at least a size too small. Ouch, her toes pain me.

  • http://twitter.com/Nonnetje85 Manon

Lovely color shoes. Too bad she didn’t make an appointment with a make-up artist….

  • sweetlilvoice

She looks horrid and needs a new hairstyle bad. Her forehead looks huge. Love the shoes.

  • Anonymous

Those shoes make her feet look odd – especially her right foot.  (in the second last picture it looks like they are flats.  and in the last picture are we seeing the outline of her toes?

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_EDI2DLE7DE3YPW2ONIHBWOVHMA ecallaw

The dress is nice, but she is just SO washed out, and she really needs a hairstyle that flatters her forehead, ahem, I mean face.

  • http://twitter.com/Karostl Karo W.

She could have purchased that dress at Dots. Disappointing, love the shoes

  • Anonymous

I love her and find her face so beautiful and interesting, but the dress is really unflattering. It makes her look so broad. Keep trying, Peggy!

  • http://profiles.google.com/misslauraschultz Laura Schultz

Fab!  I love her in this red one too

  • oohsparkley!

She’s moving in the right direction.  Maybe a flash washed out her face?  She’s looks hot but a little blush and brighter lipstick are in order. P.S. I like toe cleavage, so I love the shoes.

    • http://profiles.google.com/misslauraschultz Laura Schultz

yeah I think a large part of the problem is the photography, here… It’s a pretty bad shot.

    • Mary McClelland

I like toe cleavage too.  :-)

  • Anonymous

SO close! Just a bit of make-up and she would be – well, maybe not perfect, but pretty close! And I kind of like some toe cleavage every now and then!

  • Anonymous

I love her as Peggy but . . . I can’t think of one time I’ve seen her in a public situation that she didn’t look washed out, sleep deprived (I know that is a function of her genetic structure, but carefully done makeup could relieve some of the bags and small eyes) and her hair! Here it looks like it needs a good washing and styling.
Maybe she is simply uncomfortable in the spotlight–in which case she needs coaching or to be left alone (not likely that–she is a (well deserved) star)

  • Anonymous

Call me square, but I get confused about fashion these days. Sometimes it’s a long top paired with sparkly pants on the runway, but then sometimes it’s a dress. But how do you know when? It hurts my brain sometimes when I’m shopping.

    • http://beautyforrealgirls.blogspot.com/ accidental housewife

I was thinking much the same thing. Just yesterday, weren’t we making fun of Lea Michele for wearing a top as a dress?

This is such an extreme difference from the way she usually dresses. It’s kind of startling. She looks great in that [dress, top, whatever], but she also looks like she forgot some of her clothes. I love her shoes though.

Elizabeth, just a little make-up, please. You’re so beautiful, but some mascara and a great lipstick would make you look even better.

    • Anonymous

For me, this is better than Michele’s because this shirt/dress goes about halfway down Moss’s thighs. Michele’s really looked like a long shirt that was pulled just over her butt.

  • Anonymous

And her eyes are a beautiful color, when you can see them.

  • Anonymous

The makeup is doing her no favors but this is sooo much better than the beige-ish stuff these posts usually feature on her.  It’s stylish, if a little too short for my eye, great shoes, and I like the earrings.

  • Anonymous

I cracked up when I read this was for the Walking Dead premiere. She’s gorgeous, the dress and shoes are a couple huge steps in the right direction, but from the neck up she looks like she just walked out of the gym.

  • Aly Light

I can barely see that dress against the black background. And what I can see is way too short, and doesn’t remotely go with those shoes.

  • Anonymous

Pretty gal. I like the dress but not her hair/make-up.

  • Anonymous

She needs bangs-there’s no bones about it.  Some soft, side-swept bangs would do wonders for her.  Maybe she can’t cut her hair for Mad Men, but, hell, clip on bangs would be better than nothing.

  • http://cheekypinky.wordpress.com/ Rebecca

I would shank a kitten (not a Bitter One, mind) for those shoes.

    Getting there, girl!

  • Addicted2Glamour

We can all agree the dress is fab. I’m probably alone in liking her hair. But I see those shoes and I cry inside a little.

  • Anne Slovin

    Lipstick, please!

  • Anonymous

I think she’s WAY sexier in this than in all those bandage dresses she was sporting for awhile.

    Well done.

  • Anonymous

Such an improvement from what we’ve previously seen of her….good job Lizzie!

I like the simplicity of the dress and subtle makeup for her…she seems like a no frills kind of girl so this suits her personal style.  Perhaps a touch more mascara and a shade darker brow…yes?  Pale lip works well for her.

  • Anonymous

Yes, it needs work, but a definite move in the right direction!

  • Anonymous

I know what your saying and it’s good to encourage, but I can’t even see her facial features. So her dress is a color (or black which isn’t really a “color”) but I can’t even see her face. She just fades away. It’s like these beige smudges coming out of the dress. I want Lizzy to get it better. C’mon girl! You can do it!

  • Mary McClelland

TOOOOOOOOOOO SHORT. It’s supposed to be a shirt according to the runway… why has no one mentioned this. And also, yes, blush is your friend, dearie!

  • Anonymous

Those shoes look way too small.  I bet she got blisters and toe cramps for her trouble.

I like the dress, but definitely some color on the face would have made a huge difference.

  • MilaXX

Man would this have been a great time to pull out a red lip. She looks great!

  • http://profiles.google.com/claudiaberry Claudia Berry

She needs some makeup, god love her, but the dress is really good!

  • Anonymous

I’m missing something here. She’s wearing a dress that is too short, obscures her hot body, has an awkward neckline that looks like it may eventually decapitate her and her lovely face is TOTALLY washed out. I am not seeing much improvement here.

    • Judy_J

      I’m in total agreement.

  • http://profiles.google.com/trashilove { edi } ilovetrash

    you are right.
    she looks much better.
i can live w/the pale makeup.
    i really like the shoes.
my only problem is that that is not the collar/shoulder treatment for her.
but she’s certainly, happily getting there.

  • Anonymous

Much better! Girl could have used some lipstick, but still, I loves me some Lizzie!

  • Presumptuous Insect

Bleurgh. I don’t want to see the lines between someone’s toes when they are wearing shoes.

  • Judy_J

Just because she’s at the premiere of The Walking Dead doesn’t mean she has to LOOK like the walking dead.  That dress looks like a black shroud (short doesn’t necessarily translate to “sexy”), and she has NO COLOR on her face.  I’m not fond of that hair, either.  I love Elisabeth Moss, but when she’s left to her own devices, she just doesn’t seem to be able to accentuate the positives.  She needs Janie Bryant or someone from Mad Men to help her make the right choices.

  • http://twitter.com/herong Heron

Omg I am SO not a fan! This isn’t her!  I’m used to her in those silly drab outfits that she obviously feels comfortable in. Let’s not push her too far towards the same-old that everyone else wears.

  • Anonymous

“Your dress is too short”…. shouted her mother, in a desperate ploy to get her to change into the green dress she had picked out for her.

    • Anonymous

and apparently we have another celebrity wearing a blouse as a dress– and it is to short

  • Vaniljekjeks

    Red shoes!!!! Thank you Elisabeth!

  • http://twitter.com/lenabena_ Elena

Her face looks horrid. (Only because of the makeup, or lack thereof. Not because she’s unattractive.)

  • Anonymous

Yeah she really does need bangs. And a dress that de-emphasizes the linebacker shoulders.

  • Anonymous

A definite step in the right direction.

  • Anonymous

I appear to be in the minority here, but I really don’t like the dress.  I think it’s too short, way too boxy, and makes her arms/shoulders look unattractively large……and I don’t remember thinking that she’s had large arms when I’ve seen her before.  Do like her in black though, as opposed to the often-worn beige tones – just wish she had picked a dress that looked better on her.

    • Anonymous

Apparently, you’re not in the minority. Most of the posts here say she looks awful which she does.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_5LU5C262WB3Z5F4WZ6QGKXLNLE JaneM

They can hold the screening on her forehead.  A little bangs or something….

  • Anonymous

To me, all she’s really missing is some color on her face. Let me rephrase: she’s in DESPERATE need of some make-up. She looks like some old Polaroids that are still in my family’s photograph drawer…they’re so old and faded that we’re actually faceless in some of them.

  • Anonymous

I can’t even see the shape of the shirt (oops, dress) she’s wearing with the black background behind her.  She is such an attractive woman and this outfit doesn’t do her justice.  Have you seen her in those headache relief commercials?  She’s mesmerizing.

  • Anonymous

    Girrrrlll, you need ’em.

  • Anonymous

She looks like a mannequin…sooooo washed out!

I will give her props for wearing something fun and non-neutral for a change.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_G2OA4MZ7I5EDF5VHRX6YE5EKPU Colleen

From the neck down, it’s beautiful. I think she could have used a couple bangles, but I’m not that picky. I do love the toe cleavage, especially since her toes aren’t smooshed. Nothing worse than toe cleavage created by suffocated piggies.

From the neck up however, she looks completely embalmed.

  • Lauren Maier

  • Anonymous

I am so tired of toe crack peeking out from the tops of shoes.  It always looks like they don’t fit right.

  • Anonymous

so near and yet so far

  • Anonymous

You guys don’t LIKE toe cleavage?  Well shut my mouth; I love it!

  • Anonymous

I think she looks gorgeous. Period.

  • http://parisiennelauren.wordpress.com/ Lauren

I thought you were going to rip her. I *love* her, but she looks absolutely horrendous.

  • Sara__B

Take a top with an asymmetrical neckline, torture it into a semblance of symmetry, call it a dress, choose a color that washes you out but wear no visible makeup, don’t bother to wash your hair, put on a pair of kick ass shoes, and you’re good to go? I don’t think so. (The only nice things I can find to say are: 1) she’s got beautiful skin; 2) she’s still pretty even with greasy hair and invisible make up, and; 3) her legs look great.)

  • Lisa

Yes, the dress and the shoes are amazing, but what the hell?  No makeup whatsoever, and “I just scrubbed my apartment and dashed to the red carpet” hair?  Come on!

  • Anonymous

Y’all didn’t see this? Where both Elisabeth AND Christina look to die??

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Patrick-Cleary/1201575213 Patrick Cleary

Horrible dress, horrible styling. She shouldn’t ever be photographed on the red carpet, since she always looks like depression personified.

  • http://twitter.com/karenrubyleo Karen

I think the dress looks cheap and kinda trampy, she deserves better than this!

  • Anonymous

Horrible, horrible, horrible! You guys must be grading on a curve! If Tyra Banks showed up sporting a shiny five-head you’d be all over that shit! And that dress is gross!

  • http://twitter.com/PhDKnitter marlie

What’s wrong with the toe-cleavage? But she desperately needs some color on her face. Dress looks good.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Catherine-Rhodes/602850414 Catherine Rhodes

The lack of make-up is off-putting. She looks anemic.

  • http://twitter.com/verascity Vera Sticker

    Terrible makeup, though.

  • http://www.facebook.com/charlotte.horseman Charlotte Horseman

Big improvement over her last posting for sure…

  • Heidi Semet

Hmm, she looks alright. That V needs to be larger on the dress – ALSO.. i dunno TLo, this sounds like you guys are grading on a curve!! Straight up Project Runway style.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Susan-Maguire/1286325876 Susan Maguire

does this girl ever stay home?

  • Anonymous

I can see the dress, but her face is invisible.

  • Anonymous

Are you guys wearing your glasses? She looks wide and shapeless in this dress.

  • elzatelzabelz

Better, but she needs some color on her face. Better though, much better.

  • Anonymous

Ugh, no.  It might be a step in the right direction but still not flattering at all.  It makes her look wide and dumpy.  And what’s with the make up?  Is it a nod to “The Walking Dead”?

  • Anonymous

really? her torso looks like an amorphous blob.

  • http://twitter.com/RobertSanchez36 Robert Sanchez

I don’t think this dress did her any favors. It’s too short and the way it’s cut makes her look extra broad across her shoulders and bust.

  • Anonymous

It’s cute! Though as another gal with a very high forehead: powder! powder!

  • Anonymous

I love that she s so regular looking. I feel like I’ve seen her at my market or the Gap or something every time I see her. She looks comfy but chic here. Nice job.

  • Anonymous

WERQ? I don’t get it at all. I think she still looks terrible, which is hard to do in a nice lbd. The halter top makes her already broad-ish shoulders look even wider, and she’s too short to carry that look. And the makeup? OUT OUT OUT again, Lizzie.

  • http://twitter.com/RzYoung RzYoung

    Oh i love toe cleav!

  • Anonymous

I am also not going to mention the toe cleavage, the lack of colour on her face, or the fact that I think I like the dress better with the… I can’t tell if it’s a skirt or pants. Anyway, I’m not going to talk about any of that because I’m so happy to see Lizzy in a colour. Sort of.

    • Anonymous

      • Anonymous

        I said sort of 😉

  • margaret meyers

This is not werqing for me.  The drape of the dress makes her look like a very short weight lifter and a dress like this requires more makeup and more jewelry.

  • http://profiles.google.com/ballinger.jl Jessica Ballinger

She really does need more color on her face, but the dress looks so cool I don’t care.  Love the red shoes, even if the toes make like her feet are fracturing.

  • http://profiles.google.com/phyllis.craine Phyllis Craine

She needs to realize that like Annie Lennox did years ago she needs drag queen strength makeup

  • http://www.facebook.com/tatiana.lensky Veronika Kaufmann

I think she looks cool. We are so used to multi-layered cakes, she is refreshing. Plus she has beautiful skin.

  • Anonymous

I don’t like the shape of this dress on her and she looks way too pale (looks like the bad flash is partially to blame, but still).

  • Anonymous

Man, if this is a good shot of her, she’s got a long way to go.

  • Anonymous

This is such a standard bar dress. I’m not saying it’s an improvement, but I think almost every 20-year-old university student has a variation of this dress in her closet. Clearly Ms. Moss’s dress is well made and in a rich fabric, but it still looks a little ordinary.

  • http://asskickingadviser.com/ Ass Kicking Adviser

Grading on a curve! She needs make-up, three more inches to her dress, a bracelet and a smile!

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=583505025 Kelley Comfort

My first reaction was “Why no make up?”

    • Anonymous

really.  would a little color on her lips kill her?

  • Anonymous

My sister has a dress just like this from White House Black Market and it looks better on her! I think EM looks terrible here.

  • http://twitter.com/rachelruthlee Rachel Lee

    She looks like a ghost.

  • Anonymous

probably looks amazing good in person and photographs bleh.  girl got some shoulders, which I like.  I get sick of anorectic shoulders, clavicles, decolletage – this works for me.  (but eyeliner and lipstick, sweetie… find some)

  • Anonymous

This is a hot mess.  The halter makes her look like a linebacker.  And the pale, pale lips and eyes make her look like one of the walking dead.  It’s not Halloween yet, sweetie.  Save the undead look for later in the month.

  • Anonymous

I thin she looks fresh faced and adorable. But the model, now, she looks like a ghost.

  • http://twitter.com/ShelfAfterlife Shelf Afterlife

Wow, she practically has no face.  And quite a fivehead going on.

  • Anonymous

Something about it is just all wrong.  I don’t think the black background helps.  She looks short & wide.  (and dead).

  • Anonymous

She looks like an exact advertisement for the movie.  Walking Dead, indeed.  There’s not a thing about this ensemble or her look that’s making me happy, not at all.

  • Anonymous

Doesn’t really matter what you’re wearing when you’ve got a mesmerising face like that.

  • Anonymous

Not good. I LOVE the cloche on the model. EM looks ghastly.
