Amanda Seyfried for Glamour UK

Posted on October 12, 2011

How freaking cute is Amanda getting her Goldie on for the cover of Glamour?

Amanda Seyfried for Glamour UKAmanda Seyfried covers the November 2011 issue of Glamour UK photographed by Simon Emmett and styled Charlotte-Anne Fidler. Hair: Harry Josh. Makeup: Mary Greenwall.

She’s perfectly suited for this kind of look and that’s a spectacular dress, but we’re getting pretty tired of seeing ’60s looks on the covers of magazines. Still, she’s rocking the look adorably.

Love it! She looks beautiful. She has the prettiest eyes.

Cute. The dress seems a little off for a Nov UK issue, but still cute.

  • Wrenaria

    She’s so adorable. I <3 her.

    Luv huh

well, they wouldn’t call it a trend if everybody wasn’t doing it

They could have picked a better pose to use, she looks like a fat stripper.

WHAT I MEAN TO SAY is that she’s gorgeous and I love what’s going on with her hair, but this pose does absolutely nothing positive for her. Really makes me question the ability of the editor.

Also: The shock new threat? Typo?

And here I was thinking that it was so refreshing to see an actress on a magazine cover NOT PhotoShopped within an inch of her life!  She looks adorable and real to me.

Keep photoshop out of this, she looks terrible and the only reason for that is the pose. She doesn’t need photoshop to look like a twig, she already IS A TWIG. You’re incredibly wrong.

I’ve thought she is awesome and adorable ever since she predicted the weather with her boobs in Mean Girls. I love this pic!

Am I the only one that thinks that the dress/pose combo isn’t doing her any favors? I think she’s beautiful, but she is a tiny little thing, and this photo makes her look anything but! It’s practically a crime.

Love the hair and makeup, though.

It’s a bad dress for her. As a fellow big-boobed/small waist gal I can tell you those dresses are agonizingly adorable on the hanger and on straighter-bodied ladies, but on Seyfried’s body type they just tent off the boobs, widening to make the rest of the body look even bigger.

Being the same way myself, I feel your pain.

        And so does Amanda Seyfried.

Right there with you. I can’t tell you how many cute shifts I’ve had to pass up because my silhouette vanishes as soon as I put them on. It’s made even worse by the fact that I’m short.

Another bigboobsmallwasteshortie here, the exact same thing happens to me. We should start a support group.

Ooh, ooh, can I join, and can we talk about button-down shirts? I feel like they’re all cut for people with no shoulders and tiny boobs.

Cute dress and I like the ’60-ish hair, but what happened to her waist?

  • Anonymous

Meh, while I kind of like the pattern of the dress, it seems pretty shapeless. Might as well be a pink potato sack. Not impressed.

it’s not the most body-flattering dress, but she manages to look very pretty anyway.

and i LOVE a cover typo (shock new threat!)!

    Fabulousness!

She looks like she’s wearing a bath mat.

Literally 10 seconds after I posted my comment I scrolled down and saw that, no I’m not the only one….

She’s perfect for this look!  Adorable!

    Sock It To Me!
Sorry, but you’re so right, TLo! Seeing the adorable Amanda immediately made me think of Goldie during the “Laugh In” years.

That dress is spectacular as a concept imo. In reality, it makes Seyfried, a super-slender woman, look like a shiny purple mini-fridge.

  • Addicted2Glamour

She IS super cute here. Love the hair and makeup. But does anyone else look at this dress and think of those vinyl stickers your Grandmother had in her bathtub to keep her footing?

I’m actually over Amanda Seyfried being styled like a little girl. The inside photos especially utilized baby bows, bubble skirts, cotton candy lipstick, and Lolita-esqe posing. It creeps me out. She’s 25. Enough is enough.

Wow, I didn’t think I’d ever be complaining about a cover celebrity
being made to look *fat*, but here we are. It’s like anti-photoshop.

She is so fresh faced….love it!

Love the look for her, but I’m not a fan of the flowers in than dress. It also makes her waistless; I get that it’s not a fitted dress so maybe the pose is wrong?

  • Anonymous

Goldie?? She looks like Brigitte Bardot with tamer hair. Either way, she’s adorable. They could easily found a cuter dress for her to wear, though.

  • Anonymous

This IS a good look for her.

(even though, as has been copiously noted, the dress obscures her figure rather than flattering it.)

  • MilaXX

I like that color on her, too often the makeup artist go red on her. I think this lavender is a more complimentary color for her coloring.

  • sweetlilvoice

She is so cute and I love this look on her. Talented too.

  • http://twitter.com/hpenfield Hannah Penfield

I think the dress makes her look kinda rectangular.

  • Anonymous

as others have pointed out the shape of that dress is doing no favors for her figure…shift dress are best suited for lanky small busted women…otherwise you end up looking rather thick unfortunately…

  • Lisa

Aww, I really love this cover, and she looks adorable.

  • Anonymous

The dress is SO cute!  The pose, I think, is making her look shapeless (which she certainly is not).

I think she’s really pretty…somewhere between a Barbie and a Bratz doll (which is an awkward-sounding compliment).

  • Lucia Valencia Chavez

She is totally gorge. “spectacular dress”? I don’t believe so.

It’s funny to read the comments.  If the mag *had* photoshopped a curvy figure onto this cover, utterly wrecking the shift and Ms. Seyfried’s slight figure, we’d all be decrying the use of photoshop to create a harmful image of perfection for the young ‘uns and not presenting her more like she is; without that artificial body having been created, we’re complaining that she has no waist.  It seems to me that there are dresses that are no intended to highlight the waistline, this being one of them.  I think it’s pretty groovy.

    • Anonymous

Thank you for saying *groovy* :)))
My crabby, tired, ’60s self loves hearing this word in 2011!

As for Amanda looking fat (in other’s comments), snort, lookit that obscene p-shopping, with her legs that far apart, her crotch must be one foot lower than her armpits!

She looks cute.  It’s surprising they didn’t photoshop a waist on her.

    Stunning.  I think she’s such a beauty.
