It gives old bitches like us a warm glow to see a lady who’s had a contentious relationship with the red carpet mature into someone who’s getting better and better at dressing herself. And by “dressing herself,” we mean “pay other people to dress her.” You WERQ that Mad Men shit, girl. Snaps up!

Although we wish you had chosen shoes that pull the hints of chartreuse in the dress out. That would have been PhD-level styling.

I agree she could have been more adventurous with the shoes. This is a great dress on her, though. So cute and vintage-looking! I would tweak the hair a little, but the messy up-do is the thing right now. If my Pinterest feed is correct, anyway…

She look ok, for Kiki. But the hair pains, as does the stoned out of her mind expression. Also, can’t stand the girl.

      • Anonymous

Yep – cannot bear her. The dress is super-cute, though.

      • Anonymous

She does look like she’s a bit mellow, doesn’t she?

    • MilaXX

I like! She looks great, full stop.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_C65IT4K6RYN4TWRMFJOI3VUDAI Olechka Milashka

Yeah, yellow shoes would have been much smarter!  I am not a fan of her makeup though.  And the smirk suggests that she’s having a really bad day – those eyes do not look happy.

    • Anonymous

When I first saw this I just loved it from head to toe. (But I generally feel that way about anything that reminds me of Mad Men.)

    • Anonymous

Oh fuckin A, COMB YOUR HAIR.

    • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

I loves me some Kirsten, but damn how I wish she would stop that smirk when she’s being photographed. Its like she’s thinking, “Yeah, whatever, you bitches.”

Love the dress and shoes.  Not mad about the overly sloppy hair.

    • http://profiles.google.com/misslauraschultz Laura Schultz

Didn’t like this the first time I saw it but in these photographs it looks way better, I must say. Agree with the hair and smirk comments. I would not have liked chartreuse shoes with this. I think these shoes look great!

    • Anonymous

DAYUM. She looks great! And a much better shoe choice than the model’s – what is THAT all about?

But seriously, would it kill her to do something with her hair that *didn’t* make her look like she just fought her way here in a windstorm??

… Black shoes and a brown dress?

      • MilaXX

The dress is navy/chartreuse/white, the shoes are navy

        • http://www.facebook.com/people/Ailsa-Martin/644946901 Ailsa Martin

Really?! It definitely reads as brown to me, maybe it’s my computer. I was wondering why it looked so drab.

          • Anonymous

Doesn’t look navy on mine either.

    • http://profiles.google.com/gillianholroyd gillian holroyd

Cute look but there’s something about the color of her lipstick that is bugging me.

    • Sara__B

Kirsten Dunst’s tight smirky smile always annoys me, but I’ve got to admit this dress is totally charming on her. The only change I’d like to see (besides the facial expression) is the addition of a belt, but that’s a minor quibble.

    • Anonymous

WERQ from the neck down, sure. But the makeup and hair? Blech. I mean, I don’t even have pants on yet and my hair looks better than that.

She makes me glad that dress exists, she looks so nice in it.

    • Anonymous

      Awwwww!  She looks really sweet!

    • Anonymous

i love it.  she is becoming quite something i think.

    • Anonymous

I love that smirk on her face.  It’s like she’s thinking “Yeah, bitches.  I know I look good.”

I was thinking a chartreuse or gold or yellow belt might have been nice. Something narrow and fine. The dress is a little drab otherwise.

Not crazy about the dress, but she looks good — after that magazine cover, it’s nice to see her looking like herself again!

well, I guess it’s got a Mad Men vibe, I guess.

But my first reaction was, Oh Barf

      I have a hangover from PR last night, and I wasn’t drinking…

    • http://twitter.com/herong Heron

Are the shoes blue?  I love it!

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1248212910 Jessie Melcher Brown

pretty demure dress without looking matronly.  Only thing she needs is some powder to take the shine off her face.

    • Anonymous

Frumpy in front, pretty from behind.

    • Anonymous

In.  Adorable, well groomed and cute as a button.

    • Anonymous

Don’t like this color with her coloring. And I am just so not into these 50s dresses. Matronly and unflattering, especially the big-ass hips and the short sleeves. Not a fan of short sleeved dressy clothing.

    • kim i

love it.  what’s up — or down — with the collar in front, though?

    • Terence Ng

That last photo looks like she’s balancing plates on her hands and head, like some sort of performance waitress. And she look sgreat while doing it!

Really lovely dress! Very youthful, but not “tweenie”. It IS nice to see KiKi Dunst looking so good after quite a few trip-ups. She is WERQing the fashion statements, and deserves a nice round of applause. My only quibble? Like T Lo, I would love to have seen a bit of color-referencing in the shoes. Again – this dress is just SO pretty and insanely flattering. Go KiKi!

      Finally, she looks just lovely!

    • Anonymous

She could use one more petticoat. The runway look is slightly wider-skirted and that fits Kirsten’s style & body. She looks great, though!

    • Anonymous

No kidding!  She looks like a card-carrying member of the red carpet executives now.  I agree, with better shoes she would have been red carpet ELITE.  At least she didn’t do the patent oxfords like in the runway look.  Yick.

    • Anonymous

I think she’s adorable, but she’s starting to look a tad Marion Ross-ish. Who’s also adorable, but from a somewhat different generation.

    • http://opinionandamovie.blogspot.com/ Deitra S.

At first I wasn’t crazy about the hair, but then looking at the model I realized a sleeker look could have turned school marmish in a hurry.  Well done, Team Kirsten, just lovely.

    • Anonymous

she looks great! not too sure about the hair, though. Go Kiki!

    • Wrenaria

       Adorable.

    • Anonymous

      Would die for that dress.

Chartreuse shoes would have been BANANAS.

    • Anonymous

So pretty!  But why didn’t anybody fix her collar?  Poor thing.

    • Anonymous

I cannot give a WERQ to someone whose hair looks like mine does when I wake up.

The dress, however, is awesome on her.

    • Anonymous

Love, love, love it!  She looks fantastic!  I must disagree, I think chartruese shoes would have been too much, too expected and pulled your eye down to the feet instead of up towards her pretty face.  She’s no fool, it’s about the face, darlings, NOT the feet. The feet will never get you a role or land you work.

      • http://www.tomandorenzo.com Tom and Lorenzo

We didn’t recommend chartreuse shoes; we recommended a shoe that would pull the chartreuse out of the dress. In this case, we’re thinking something in the red-blue family, like an aubergine.

        • Jessica Goldstein

I’m just glad she didn’t wear sneakers like the model!

      • Anonymous

And to those who comment on her “smirk”, I don’t think it is a smirk.  her eyes go quite narrow when she smiles even just a bit and her lips goe into a thinner, wider line.  Combined with the apple cheeks and I comes across smirky but I really think it is just her natural smile, even as a child.

    • http://twitter.com/Usama_Hamayun Usama Hamayun

Thts no way “WERQ” to me…she looks like a maid at the first glance. Hair are so distracting and her face is overglowing…dress is hardly okay.

    • http://profiles.google.com/trashilove { edi } ilovetrash

      beautiful dress.

    • Anonymous

Classic sillouette with the pumps.  Wish she didn’t look so miserable.  It’s distracting.

    • http://twitter.com/turtleemily Turtle Emily

Have her and Maggie Gyllenhaal ever played sisters in something? Because it needs to happen.

    • Anonymous

I love this dress.  I love things that look well designed and classic.  She has pretty hair.

    • Anonymous

She looks mostly adorable and I love the dress! Hair and makeup take it down a notch but dang, this is a huge improvement.

    • http://asskickingadviser.com/ Ass Kicking Adviser

Perfect. Fabulous dress.  I wouldn’t have wanted more adventurous shoes because it would have taken away the demure nature of this dress. It’s striking and I think her hair looks very intentional. And I am so glad she started wearing a proper bra.

    • Anonymous

Love this look.  It’s really a great dress for her.

    • Lisa

      DUNST!!!  You magnificent bastard!

    • Anonymous

Love. Very Kirsten. Too bad about the shoes.

    • Anonymous

I agree about the shoes, but she looks ADORABLE!!!

    • Anonymous

Wish the dress was a tad shorter

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_66KPZ36LMHMRQOX3HIJGHRNNUA MandyM

She looks a hellava lot better in that dress than the model, that’s for sure!

    • Anonymous

That’s the Quintessence of Kiki. Love it.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_3AJ237ND3GAHDQJZ4TLCO4WLRA Emily

Great dress – she looks beautiful.

    • Anonymous

Really? Ugh, I think she looks a mess. The top of that dress is awful, and she looks like she’s been up all night.

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Luke-Thomas/100001097142086 Luke Thomas

Very successful way of modernizing a vintage silhouette.  Poor Kirsten- she smiles with her mouth closed and people say she’s smirking; she smiles with her mouth open and people mock her teeth.  I like that she resists the generic Hollywood Chiclet teeth and big blown out curls.

    • Anonymous

I love Kiki. Beautiful and gives solid performances in films.

    • http://vhanna26.typepad.com Vera

She’s annoys me, but she does look cute here.

    • Anonymous

YAY! she seems like a good kid (maybe or maybe not with a habit) I love when she looks ship shape. The hair is meh but yay!
