PR Final Collections: Bryce, Josh, Kimberly

Posted on September 09, 2011

All nine remaining designers showed finale collections this morning at Lincoln Center during Fashion Week. We are not spoiling anything regarding who will be in the Top 3 because we don’t know which of these designers are decoys and which aren’t. It takes several hours for all the looks from all the collections to show up on the wire services, so these posts will be constantly updated over the next couple of hours. We’re just going to throw the pictures up for now and then arrange them according to the order the pieces walked down the runway. While we’re updating, we may put a picture under the wrong designers name. Be patient, kittens. It’ll all be perfect by this afternoon.

Bryce

Josh

If that collection is one that’s in the top 3, I am…. underwhelmed. Hope it gets better!

Josh is also fundamentally opposed to sleeves, as seen in his own personal wardrobe of tank tops, nothin but tank tops

        Bryce: boring.
        Josh: horrifying.
        Kimberly: from her own closet.

The strings.  Every girl needs extra floss, right?

I actually don’t mind the purple one.  Wouldn’t wear it, but don’t mind it.

    • Anonymous

The model looks horrified, like she wants to get it off her body immediately.

  • Anonymous

Josh’s clothes are hideous. They all look like things he would wear, which harkens back to the T. Lo observation that he can’t “see the woman in the clothes” (which he flat-out said in last night’s episode). He seems to have no concept of a woman’s shape.

    • Anonymous

I did immediately take to the first drapey one, but only because I instantly saw her as the hostess of a fabulous cocktail party at her fabulous home that Halston and Bianca Jagger would have stopped by late-night, but not too late.  I can see her sailing around the party hostessing.  I guess it carried me away!  To what year, I’m not sure

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_MBZQXGWCTBDTAZMEM4S2EJUNUQ Katie

Agreed. I do think that if someone could ration out colors to him in reasonable combinations and amounts that would do a lot to improve his work. I was surprised to find something I like in there – the purple striped shirt/pant/boot look. It’s nothing revolutionary but I find it chic and wearable. I do have some hope that this collection is a sign Josh is not in the final. It looks fairly low effort and I would expect him to do something a little more cuckoo-nuts if he was actually up for the win.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_HBS4KWJ6XTPDEL2JMD37ZS5YHA Ben

That’s Josh’s collection. Well, no way near Top 3 material. I loled at the “purple”. What is that?

    • Anonymous

Maybe one of those awful, “design a new extra look while you already have way to much to do and are already way to frazzled” twists that aren’t twists.

    • Anonymous

At least the purple was solid. Purple, but solid. His prints are HIDEE-HO-HIDEOUS. and that green with the black dental floss? *shivers

Oh. My. God. These are hideous. I almost want Josh to be a finalist just so I can watch them be picked apart on the runway. Is that wrong?

I know it! But what if they pretend to like them? That would be soul killing.

      • Anonymous

That would make Gretchen’s win the *second* greatest tragedy in Project Runway history…

        • vmcdanie

Agreed, our schadenfreude might backfire. After Gretchen’s win, nothing is sacred.

    • Anonymous

So far, I don’t want ANY of them to be finalists.

I should be a better person than this but, Josh really has it coming.   His collection is terrible and he is insufferable.

Yes. It is very, very wrong.

But depending upon who the top 3 are it might create much-needed interest.

        >Josh – narcicist to the last – has made all his models look like him!
To be fair, if he’d done that, there would be a lot more self-tanner staining the runway.

I don’t think that’s Marjorie, but Teyona is in Kimberley’s show.  She’s wearing the high-waisted cream colored pants and sheer, cream colored blouse.  She really does look like she has ‘wind in the face.”

If Josh is Top 3, that bilious collection will be the Worst Ever Final Collection. Yes, even worse than Wendy Pepper.

    • Anonymous

aw come on, wendy’s collection may not have been pr’s interpretation of “fashion” but she made some pretty, wearable, and sellable pieces. nothing really made me want to vomit or gouge my eyes out like the fugly and offensive crap josh apparently has made. although that see through gown she made was a wtf moment and made me pee my pants laughing.

    • Anonymous

I think there have been quite a few collections worse then Wendy’s. I actually saw the collections before watching anything of Season 1 and so didn’t know the personalities and didn’t think she did such a bad job. I kind of liked it. Not in the top in the history of the show but there have been a few doozies well below her in my opinion.

Michael Knight’s was not so good.

“Ross Dress-for-Less, Josh calling on line 1!”

From the gyno dresses to the asymetrical hems (and how you manage both asymmetry and too short on one look I do not know) to the sad purple beach coverup, this collection is just an eyesore.  BTW Josh:  Lose the booties – they are so day-before-yesterday.

Note:  My apologies to to that the Ross Dress-for-Less people.  Upon reflection, if Josh called with this collection, they would not pick up.

    • Anonymous

Dowdy is the word for this mess. His clothes mirror his personality – horrible.

  • http://twitter.com/HMetsis Hanna Metsis

These (Johs’) make me throw up in my mouth a little. At least I now feel pretty sure he’s not in the top 3, considering that this doesn’t look that worked through.

  • Anonymous

I think that a couple of Josh’s looks are nice. The first billowy black dress has a very interesting silhouette, and the second black dress is a little derivative but still sophisticated. The look with the purple striped shirt is casual but chic. Unfortunately there are some real clunkers here too. Those green shorts for example and all of his prints (are they prints or different fabrics sewn together?) are hideous and busy. It lacks cohesion too. That purple goddessy dress looks like it wandered onstage from a different show and so does the one with the shirt that looks a little insect-like.

Given the disclaimer that T&L made as to whose is whose I’ve got a feeling that the more colorful garments come from Bryce while the mostly black are from Josh.

    Not whelmed.

    • Anonymous

Except check out the hair and boots–they’re all styled identically whether they’re wearing black or color. All Josh, all awful.

      • Anonymous

I’ve seen the updates and, sad to say, you’re right.  “All awful” sums it up in two words.

  • Anonymous

Not top 3. No way. But a couple of these are better than I have come to expect from him.

  • Anonymous

I’m a little horror struck at the two outfits with the green skirt and other green diaper thing. If all these are Josh (and they might be, with the same hair and booties styling), I just hope it’s not a Final 3.

I actually like most of Josh’s looks, but those pink trousers get a violently disgusted reaction from me.  The color, proportion, and fit are all abominable.  I can’t imagine anyone ever wearing those terrible things.

Kimberley’s is nice, but the fabric doesn’t look all that expensive to me, so I’m thinking decoy.  Still, way better than most decoy collections of the past seasons.

    • http://twitter.com/RobertSanchez36 Robert Sanchez

I thought the same thing about Kimberley’s fabric. And I recognized Teyona (from ANTM) as one of the models.

  • Anonymous

Is it just me, or do all of these pieces look like clothes for the sake of clothes? I really don’t see how a designer could set out to make any of these.

  • Anonymous

    Some Kimberly pics up!

I’m actually very disappointed in Kimberly. Lots of those pieces are just WAY too simple. The blue tank top, black pants, pink dress, and royal blue dress are all items I can go and buy today at a very reasonable price. They don’t look very designed at all. The fit is horrible on the black shirt w/ pink pants and I’m hoping that shiny metallic blue dress doesn’t actually belong in this collection because it’s tacky as hell and doesn’t fit in. That pink skirt is made from a terrible fabric and doesn’t look well made at all. It’s not especially flattering either.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_HBS4KWJ6XTPDEL2JMD37ZS5YHA Ben

They look Macy to me. Well-made, but yeah, nothing going on.

    • Anonymous

There is no cohesion (that I can see) in Kimberly’s designs, colors, etc., which makes me think it’s a decoy collection of random outfits.

      • Anonymous

The ONLY thing I like of Kimberly’s is that royal blue dress.

        • http://twitter.com/polevaulter94 Renee Alexander

That blue dress is my absolute favorite. Her collection has visual interest and, to me, a sense of design sense that the others lack.

And my oh my Josh… If I didn’t think you were funny I’d be ripping you apart for those looks…

          • Anonymous

            “oh my Josh” LOL

        • Anonymous

As for the rest, I agree it was veering towards tacky.

TLo tweeted “It’s more sophisticated than we’re making it sound ” LOL

  • Anonymous

Clothing aside, did the models DIY their own hair and make-up?

  • Anonymous

wow, i am so disappointed in really everything that i have seen.  nothing is very exciting, or is it just me?

    • Anonymous

I got a bit excited for Viktor and Laura. Otherwise, I agree. These collections just aren’t ready for a Fashion Week show. They’re all a bit too department store ready.

    • Judy_J

I’m with you.  So far I’m not impressed at all.  It’s like the dumbing down of Project Runway.

      • Anonymous

Maybe a department store buyer is what they’re making a grasp for, esp if they’re a decoy.

  • Anonymous

Neon, pink, pleated pants. Nuff said.

  • Anonymous

These are all terrible, imo. I don’t believe any of these are in the top 3. Josh M’s is laughable.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Elaine-Lang/100000366510311 Elaine Lang

For all the smack talk, there are more pieces to like in Bryce’s collection ( I kind of want the ivory cape) than in the other two, at least for me.  His stuff is kind of yawn-y, but Josh’s looks like sacks and diapers.

  • MilaXX

so far not wow’d. Brtce is pretty but safe. Josh is kinda ugly but I like the purple and last dress. Kim is okay but very urban.

  • http://twitter.com/boricuaintexas Ingrid

Josh stuff is hideous, for the most part.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/David-Petrison/1022054303 David Petrison

Bryce’s collection is actually pretty unexpected.  Way less Lady Gaga than I was expecting, and I’m really not sure if that’s a criticism or a compliment.

Still, way too many of those drum major fastener things.  Looks a little student-ish.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_EDI2DLE7DE3YPW2ONIHBWOVHMA ecallaw

I actually really like the more muted items in Josh M’s collection, but every time he goes for color it is a train wreck and doesn’t even seem to belong to the same collection.

  • Anonymous

I kind of like Bryce’s. He does a lot better when he’s not worried about getting kicked out. Kimberly has some nice pieces too. I certainly hope Josh is not in the final three. Half of it looks like things he designed for himself and the rest is just horrid.

  • Anonymous

Josh’s clothes are so unflattering he managed to make those models look fat, and the styling made them all look like HIM.

  • Judy_J

Is it just me, or did earlier seasons of PR show much more talent?  This crop of designers is sadly lacking.

CORSET LACED LIME GREEN SHORTS? Oh honey, no…

    • Anonymous

Aren’t TLo’s tweets making it sound like “mint green shorts” belong to Bryce?

  • Anonymous

A few of Kimberly’s are pretty good, especially that gorgeous long dress with the stripes over short pink dress, but on the whole, meh. I like that last look of Bryce’s, with the camel cape, and I like that blue he’s using, but the rest, meh. Let’s not speak of the other one.

  • Anonymous

Bryce’s jacket and capelet look like straitjackets – and fit issues all through the collection. I can kind of see where Josh was going, but I have breasts so none of it is for me. Kimberly’s, well…whoever said Macy’s up above is right. It’s stuff I’d buy, but that’s not what the runway is for.

  • Anonymous

Disappointed in Kimberley’s. Only one I really liked was the first one, with the great stripe, then she never used that print again, although only 9 looks here. Second look, whole different print, made my eyes bleed. No connection to the first print. Don’t like either look with the dusty rose. Hot pink shoulda stayed home.

    Bryce, just No.

Josh’s eye-searing hot pink, purple and lime green remind me of a rental house I once looked at, all the rooms were painted in accent colors that went with nobody’s furniture.

Do these folks know nothing of cohesion?

I rented a house once that had a tiny bedroom “hidden” behind another bedroom (you could only access it by going through the bigger room).  The main bedroom was bright orange (including shag carpet, and no it was NOT the 1970s), the hidden room was bright purple.  Both had mushroom wallpaper in their corresponding signature color.  Unfortunately I had to snap it up because my house sold 24 hours after putting it on the market, and I had about two weeks to move.  Completely random and non-PR related, but your comment brought it all too vividly back to life.  I think the two rooms were actually prettier than Josh’s collection.

  • Lori

Last night when Josh said he didn’t know where his girl was going, I was surprised and pissed but now I get it – she’s not leaving the house in those clothes.

Kimberly’s is the clear best out of them so far. Josh’s are still fugly as hell. Who was the third? Oh yeah, Bryce. *yawn

  • Anonymous

I like the cream, short-sleeved blouse of Kimberly’s, as well as her cropped jacket.

Why do Bryce’s jackets seem too big on the models?  Were the decoys not given time to fit their garments?  (I’m assuming – perhaps rashly, considering the recent decision-making – that he is a decoy!)

  • http://www.tumblr.com/tumblelog/lastbutnotleast Anonymous

That plastic yoke dress of Josh’s is maybe my favorite thing across all of the collections (I may dislike him, but I’m not going to front), but where did he get that print with the fleur de lys on it!? That print is only appropriate for crazy quilts and convention center upolstery. I would not stuff that fabric into a scare crow, lest it scare off the crops themselves.

Bryce: B is for boring.  Joshizzle: Schizoid.  Kimberly sure likes the shiny!

  • http://twitter.com/SmallerWords Angela rodriguez

Can we just declare a moratorium on that shiny purple fabric? It’s nasty and unflattering and dear god shiny as all hell. It’s just giving me the shudders and reminding me of chloe dao’s shiny largeness.

I expected to like Kimberly’s a whole lot more than I do. The collection is kind of all over the place.

Boring and uninspired.  These collections are total non-events.  Oh–except Clinique’s.  I believe his has been snapped up by Wal-Mart.  I am really disappointed in Kimberley’s collection. I expected so much more from her.

I keep going back and forth and back and forth with all three posts, all nine collections and I have nothing to say but wake me up when it’s over.  Yes, Bert has a couple of pieces I would wear but these garments already exist.  There is nothing new about them.  The only designer who had a few interesting garments, and they are mainly because of the way he used the fabrics, is Viktor, so by default, he wins.  Otherwise, it’s a sad commentary that the same show that produced designers like Jay M., Christian, Uli, Laura B., Leanne, Korto, Mondo, Seth Aaron, even Jeffrey, has turned out this lot.  There’s nothing innovative or new here or even using old new.  I’m so disappointed.

bryce’s is like april’s from last season if april from last season had no talent whatsoever but enough education to have reference points. if she worked in a hospital that bought seconds, cos the color is kind of off.

kimberly’s is– dull. the indigo dress is nice & the white outfit is nice. neither are spectacular or special. but, having looked at what just came out of the first day of NYFW, i can see that her first two outfits look like they also sprang from there directly. true, it’s after heading out from whatever my mother wore right before she died in the early 90s, but my mother was interesting & wore interesting things & the stuff like kimberly’s from NYFW also looks like she mightve worn it. i dont know who comes off best in this particular equation but i think it is actually probably my mother.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_QFW22QV426LUOEPGASPZJWJMDE MishaFoomin

Bryce: eh, okay. I am not offended. I like the last long black gown. I would wear it.

Josh: nonononononononono NO! What is going on there? It looks like a huge pile of randomness and ugliness. That fabric with the speckled pattern, seen in red and green, makes me think of red blood cells gushing around in arteries. I only like the gray and purple tank with jacket and slacks outfit because it has some semblance of normality.

Kimberly: boring, but all that shiny seems to be the trend now.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_QFW22QV426LUOEPGASPZJWJMDE MishaFoomin

And seriously, when is the “taste level” hammer going to get applied to Josh by the judges? Have the judges questioned ANYONE’s taste level this season? I am just so used to hearing them use that phrase often in previous seasons.

    • Anonymous

I thought it was brought up about Josh in the judging last night.  I think he’s served his dramatic purpose, so he’ll be going in a couple of weeks.

    • Anonymous

I believe Nina mentioned taste level with regard to Josh .as episode and the Orange One agreed with her. It was a tiny little moment easily missed except by those sharped eared people waiting for Josh to get a beat down! That would be me! He’s so deserving of it.

  • Anonymous

    I really like Bryce’s 4th design.

  • Anonymous

Bryce’s is surprisingly not super terrible. I like a couple pieces. I don’t think he’s exceptionally talented, but perhaps he’s struggled from just being ill-suited to the show.

I like a lot of Josh’s collection. I don’t love every piece, and overall as a collection I think it could have been more focused, but he’s definitely good at what he does – loud, contemporary for fashiony girls. I would be lying, though, to say that his clunkers weren’t large failures.
Kimberly’s is wack. All season she has had the tackiest fabric sense and no one ever says anything about it. We’re lucky this entire collection wasn’t gold. I don’t love the collection otherwise, but made in decent fabrics with non-tacky, non-dated colors and prints it would have certainly been passable – still not great. Her all white look is the only one I like as is.

  • Anonymous

It’s going to come down to Kimberly versus Anya. I really don’t want Anya to win because she always does the same thing, but that’s what designers do – create fashion where one instantly recognizes the brand. So she’ll win, but I think Kimberly is far, far better.

  • Lisa Koivu

Wow. First time commenting and all I have to say is I really hope Josh is not in the final 3.  those designs are less fashion forward and more fashion extreme 80s.  Not my thing.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_IHWCJIMARF4OOW6PQZQS3RFOOA JillK

Wow, everything here is a Hot Mess. Beautiful colors but no design sense, or just plain BORING (that last image? WTH is THAT doing on a high fashion runway??? In fact, most of the stuff from Kimberly is just sad.) or just freaking awful. Not a single one of these three looks like a final 3 contender to me.

  • Anonymous

I am concerned for well-being of the person who ever intentionally wears Josh’s green lace-up shorts.

    • margaret meyers

That was the worst.  That t-shirt and those shorts — he designed them for the look-at-me working boy at the club.

    • Anonymous

whoever wears those shorts and rides the subway had better be careful.  My immediate reaction was that the wearer had a decent shot of getting caught in any kind of door.

Did any ANTM fan recognize Marjorie Conrad modeling Bryce’s final piece (evening gown)?  She looks great! Good for her!

Oh! Good catch! I was too busy checking out Teyona in Kimberly’s collection. :)

I can honestly, and with dignity, completely set aside my personal feelings for Josh’s personality and say, based only on my examination of his line, “Wow, is that some fugly shit.”

  • Anonymous

Okay I have no idea where Josh is going with any of that. No point of view, no direction, just a mess. Bryce’s is boring but not bad and I like the prints for the most part in Kimberly’s but design wise…eh.

    • Anonymous

Didn’t Josh tell Tim Gunn that it didn’t matter where the girl was going? And Tim responded that he’s trying to set him up for the judges?  He just makes shit and throws it on a model.

  • http://profiles.google.com/rosatcollege Ros Clarke

Okay, you have achieved the miracle: I now want Josh to be in the final, just so we can hear what Michael Kors has to say about those green shorts with zips in.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_F7E3KDEFCZ3LC3AJNBTHBKP6WU Zel

The part of me that’s reeeeally bad at being slutty loves Kimberly’s collection and the part of me that likes Mary Katrantzou likes that print Josh was using.  I… sort of appreciate the weirdass closures Bryce has going on…  maybe?

  • Anonymous

Huh. I was thinking “Wait, are these pictures right under Josh’s name? Because they actually look kind o-” and then I got to the coral pants tragedy. All’s right with the world.

  • http://twitter.com/warontara Tara

Oh Josh….ick. Hmm I’m trying to remember…was it Bryce who said he prefers blondes as models? Cause he’s actually out of his comfort zone a bit with these girls if that was him.

Josh? Showing THAT at Fashion Week?  I WILL NOT HAVE IT!

    • JillK

I think you might mean:  I WILL ….  NOT HAVE IT!

  • Anonymous

I honestly thought the pictures had to still be messed up.. It looks like Josh took two different collections and showed half of one and half of the other.

Bryce’s is not half bad, a bit better than I would have expected.

Kimberly’s… I hope she is one of the top three.  I love it!

  • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

I find myself simply praying to the Gods not to let that out of control self absorbed queen Josh get the win.

These are NOT top three paychecks. Good lord Joshua the least you could do after all that EGO was be able to create a decent collection….fail!

  • Anonymous

Dear Joshua: You’re an asshole, and a terrible designer. Sincerely

  • Nikki Douglas

    Love Kimberly’s!

  • bethannstamps

are they all color blind? fit impaired? blech. nothing interesting

  • http://www.fatladysings.us/ TFLS

Lord.  Talk about bad.  Josh couldn’t design his way out of a wet paper bag even if equipped with pattern books, hoards of stitching minions, self-directing scissors, and the help of Tim Gunn.  He actually made those poor girls look dowdy…..and short!  Who makes a model look short!?  If you’re gonna talk the talk – then you’d better walk that walk.

  • Anonymous

Bryce: Obviously a decoy. But that black gown ain’t too bad at all. And I like the lace doily top with the leather strip. But otherwise it seems an obvious decoy. I’d still like to see the rest of it.
Josh: I second the trash bag comment about the first dress terribly unflattering, and her boobs are ready to make an appearance. The prints are oh so incredibly tacky here. That bright purple dress, which looks like something from Forever 21, makes the model look 14 months pregnant. I’ve seem similar prints in his 5th and 8th looks at Forever 21 before actually. I like stripes so I did like that second to last top, but I’ve made a few just like it. To me this whole collection looks like something you can find at Forever 21, that is their own stuff and not a knock-off, very tacky, I think they might just try to rip off some of these designs too, or he could collaborate with them, it’d be perfect, if there was a place for tacky prints Forever 21 is it. I will say I think the second black dress is very nice though, but I sincerely hope this is a decoy, because it sure the hell looks like one.
Kimberly: Overall very good. Like all the separates, a few interesting silhouettes, like the pops of color she used. The styling works, maybe could have been amped up a bit, but for a casual collection like this it works. Well made collection. Probably a decoy however.

Out of these, I think Kimberly is the only one with a shot at being top three. At the rate Bryce is going on the show, I’d be surprised if he makes it to fashion week, his collection isn’t totally terrible though, IMO its a helluva lot better than Josh’s. Josh HAS to be a decoy. Those clothes are Forever 21-bound.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_CGIBJMJ3ADK4W667QBF4E466B4 Honeybee

I want to buy Kimberley’s champagne top and cream pants today – love it and so wearable for business and cocktail!

  • JillK

Oh Bryce, is it that the closest you came to a triumph in the competition was with that straightjacket inspired dress?  Is that the reason you’ve made so many pieces that look like straightjackets as well?  I need to tell you that there are very few women out there who want to look as though they’ve been institutionalized.

I kind of love that white outfit of Kimberley’s but nothing else.  Sigh.

  • http://twitter.com/TheScottFinley Scott Finley

Josh strikes me as one of those people who’ve lived in Chelsea way too long. meaning that it is their entire world. He has a few interesting pieces here but on the whole, it looks like the female equivalent of what he is-someone who thinks they can dress their entire life from Universal Gear.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1476648069 Scott Cooper

The first time I looked at these, as much as it pained me, I liked Josh’s collection best.  The last time, I liked Kimberley’s.  That said, they both styled their models to look like them and in fact with Kimberley’s first model, I thought she’d decided to walk in her own show.  I guessing that Josh will end up the winner, which I think is sad because he is not mature enough for an entre into the professional world.  He’ll either grow up real fast or be destroyed.

  • Anonymous

I don’t really like any of these as collections. There’s one or two good pieces, that’s all.

  • Anonymous

I take it back. There’s only one good piece, and just sort of (Kimberly’s cream blouse and slacks).

S9 as a whole was ho-hum. And these fashions reflect that. Very underwhelming. Only a few pieces here and there that stand out. No real collections. If the judges say otherwise, that’s producer BS. With the bad S9 and the way Lifetime is overexposing PR, this series has a short life span.

I think Kimberly will win this season.  It’s kind of a shame that she’s in S9.  Had she been next to more talented designers I think we’d see even better work.  But her’s clearly looks the most professionally finished.  I love her backstory, too.

Josh’s collection looks like a scattered mess–so I’m assuming his theme/story/inspiration has something to do with his own mind.  (Did he have some leftover inspiration from the bedsheet challenge?)

  • Anonymous

I think we can all safely assume Josh will be eliminated.  That “collection” looks cheap, just thrown together.

Bryce’s collection is shockingly cohesive, simple and elegant.  Very serene color palette!  Why knew?  Kimberly and Josh disappoint.  Will have to take a second look after a while and see if my impression changes.

I think Bryce’s first look just blinded me. That skirt is a mess!

Oh Josh just had to throw in those tacky shorts didn’t he!!! At least the grey jacket is interesting and the plastic in the halter dress is a bit different but all in all missed the mark. Ugh! As for Kimberly kinda disappointed, a few nice pieces but as a collection no real wow factor. Bryce…clearly not in the top 3.

You boys are amazing! Thanks for adding all the additional photos and close-ups.  Too bad there’s nothing to see.  Bryce got a bunch of frog closures on sale.  Josh got inspired by Frederick’s of Hollywood circa 1985 and Kimberly raided her mom’s closet from 1993.  That being said, of these three, Kimberly’s blue dress and the cream blouse and trouser are very nice.  Not a lot of innovative design, but they look very well constructed and flatter the body.

These are a snooze fest. Boring, boring tacky hooker, boring.

  • Anonymous

Kimberly’s looks are all well made and they look expensive but they are also pretty standard. I like Bryce’s color story but some of the designs are clunky and ill fitting, especially the jackets. I guess I was starting to believe Josh’s own hype because I really thought he’d be more innovative. He is not the Great Bronzed Hope of the fashion industry that he thinks he is.

  • Anonymous

Josh – lace up mint green shorts with crotchal issues…kind of sums up his whole collection.

P.S. I did like the top with those hiddy shorts.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_3CGY36NG25QFIZQOLMH7SQTKLU andrew

I actually like some of Bryce’s stuff and Kimberly has a few nice pieces.  But JOSH?  HONEY?  What on earth is that?  The green shorts with the strings has to be the ugliest thing I’ve ever seen come down a PR fashion week runway– ever.  And that’s saying something.  Awful hooker fugly.

    • http://twitter.com/MandySCG MandyJane

Those green shorts are seriously wtf? I liked the print top, it would look great with a pair of jeans.

      • Anonymous

Funny thing is that top is really kind of awesome. One of the best things of the entire season and of all the “collections”. What a way to shoot yourself in the ugbo, lace up, panty shorts-camel toe.

  • Erika Shor

I like many of Kimberly’s pieces and I think she is a finalist. Here is why: the off the shoulder black top – fuschia pants combo? Just doesn’t look like the killer pant that Kimberly produces. I’m guessing someone else made the pants. It was probably one of those 11th hour, make another look challenge, with someone “helping” her – and this is what they made.

  • Anonymous

Lots of sipping from the V-neck koolaide 50 gallon dispenser this finale. Anya of course got drunk.

Bryce: ummmm, NO. But cute little black leather vest/bolero.

    Josh: NONONONONO
Someone recently said that we shouldn’t use the word schizophrenic to describe fashion.
              I’m making an exception here.

Kimberly: I’m disappointed. Beautiful all-white blouse/slacks. I like the vertical blue/tan/black stripe, would like to have seen more use of it. Other stripe caftan over neon pink skirt was too flamboyant. Cute black leather jacket badly paired with same neon pink dress. Oddly fit both white jacket/other pink (shiny) skirt and black blingy top/other pink (shiny again) pyjama pants. Shiny turquoise top with the pretty print oddly not used anywhere else. Should have ditched half these fabrics.
Don’t think Tim paid her a visit.

  • Anonymous

From the looks of this I’d say they all go home soon.

  • Anonymous

I don’t think any of these are finalists. Although all three have some excellent pieces.
I like Bryce’s 1st look , especially that aqua color. He doesn’t appear to know how to interface a jacket though.
I like the 2nd to last gown in Josh’s collection. especially the yoke. Hate his prints.
Kimberly’s s strongest pieces are the solid colored ones. the white pant suit and the blue dress are my favorite. I don’t like her prints, especially that dress.
None have much in the way of accessories so I think they are not finalists.

Part of the fun is picking out the ANTM models.  Oh, and there was a lot that said GOLDEN GIRLS to me.  I mean, I love the Golden Girls…

  • vmcdanie

Bryce is sweet but I can’t imagine that is anything other than a decoy.

It’s true none of us are overly fond of Josh at this point but JESUS! I liked one jacket and one dress but there is some eye-searing ugly on that runway. Even some of his models look embarrassed. Look at the face of that poor girl wearing the camel toe green fishnet…what the fuck IS that thing even supposed to be?

I like some of Kimberly’s pieces (the black gown is gorgeous) but I wasn’t blown away or anything. That pink she keeps using is…unfortunate.

  • Anonymous

Man, those were painful to see. The only exceptions are Josh’s textile tank (the one paired with those shiteous green shorts) and Kimberly’s cream ensemble which was lovely.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_ZHWCV5QUMLSECZBSVVFDZFSN5U Kenta S

I actually liked Josh’s collection: it was pretty exciting colors, interesting shapes and techniques, and seemed actually kinda fresh.

He’s a total mess of a personality, but he’s got some pretty sassy style to him.

Style-wise, I know I’ll be crucified for saying this, but Kimberley’s giving me some serious “Gretchen” vibes, down to the cut-out backs, slouchy pants, occasional flowy dress, and cheap-looking fabrics (mostly in terms of color).

    • Anonymous

I agree.  Kimberly’s collection – except the off white pants and see through shirt, which I loved, seems like it’s made for Sears.

  • Arcy Silver

It has Josh all over oh my. Without looking at who made it you know because it’s the type of clothes Josh would probably wear.

I don’t like Wendy’s either. The only thing it makes it hers is the styling. She made her models look like her. And the hair oh my god, I’ve always been stressed about looking at Wendy’s hair. Does she wear a weave? The top of her hair always looks disheveled and oily it’s pretty disturbing than other people’s “I’ve never brushed my hair in my entire life but I still look acceptable”.

Bryce has a spanish/chinese inspiration. The elements and inspiration draw back to the 1500s in asia. Not fashion forward at all.

There are pieces in each collection that I do like, and love even a few, but overall just not really feeling these as a whole…

  • Anonymous

I was most struck by Kimberly’s use of so many models of color.  I really liked that – expanded my perception of what the runway experience should be.  But her clothes were pretty boring and the prints looked so pedestrian.

Bryce’s was very cohesive – but very little of it looks flattering or must-have.

Josh’s is cracktastic.  It’s memorable, and not in a good way.  His portrayal has been pretty poor on the show, and whether or not that’s manufactured by producers, I don’t think he has what Heidi always likes to say “Taste Level.”  That’s some tacky shit.

  • Anonymous

Huh. I actually kinda liked Josh’s collection a lot. Brat Boy’s got some pretty amazing prints in there and I dig his color palette. I actually liked most of the looks except for those horrible disgusting shorts. Then again maybe I am impressed because it followed Bryce’s here and that collection is clearly a funny joke….

  • http://twitter.com/pinup_ghoul Pinup Ghoul

I actually really love Bryce’s collection. It’s understated, but employs some interesting shapes, and many of the pieces are interesting but still wearable. I’m also a sucker for robin’s egg blue.

    • http://www.madamovarypart2.blogspot.com madam ovary

I’m with you, totally.  I really liked the blue with the black patent accents.  His collection struck me as elegant.

I thought Bryce’s clothes were a bit dowdy. iI loathed Josh M’s, ugleeeeee!!  I was disappointed with Kimberleys too, what’s with all the shiny? I predict Laura, Viktor & Anthony are the top 3

  • Anonymous

A few pieces from each collection are nice, but I don’t like any of these collections much. I’m surprised that Kimberley’s wasn’t better.  And I don’t get a POV from any of these collections unless you call Josh’s love of circusy prints a point of view.

  • Anonymous

Josh needs to learn that women do not want to dress like skinny gay men.

    • Anonymous

Can I just hit LIKE about a zillion times?  I wrote above (before I read your post) that if he could have, he would have modeled all the looks himself.

  • Anonymous

Bryce’s are nice–I like the frog closures and the colors and fabrics–but they’re all too big, as if he had to sew them without any models, so left extra space, but then didn’t get to re-fit them with the models.

Josh creates clothes that he would wear if he were a woman, but very few cis-women would wear. The shorts with the lacing? Oh, please. That’s the sort of walking cliche that makes people break out the bad epithets for “gay.” He’s following a bad movie stereotype. I will, however, give him credit for some good, interesting pieces. That print dress in #2 is probably great without that heavy vest over it, and the top/jacket over the salmon pants would look good with something that wasn’t salmon pants.

Kimberly’s collection is the best of this trio, but that’s a low bar. I think the best I can say is that it’s consistently inoffensive, with a few pops of interest. The off-white Snow Queen blouse and pants stand out, though I’m a little put off by the sheerness of the midriff. But sheer is all the rage these days, and that was a new twist on it.

  • Anonymous

Bryce: really, really uneven and not cohesive as a collection. One or two good, one or two interesting, more than one or two badly made and/or criminally unflattering (what is with the apparently uneven arm holes on that pale greenish jacket?) Couldn’t really see the details but I liked the shape of the final long black gown. Maybe it was a last minute team challenge with Bert?

Josh: NOT top three, and maybe he did something awful so they took half his fabric budget away as well. Although a couple of his prints were nice (I liked the print of the top with those criminally ugly & unflattering green shorts-ish THINGS)

Kimberley: not cohesive feeling at all, either she did wonders with a limited budget or she *wanted* things to look a little, um, low rent & heavily dependent on man made fibers. I do hope the black sparkly over-sized top with pink capris was a last-minute challenge because it looks it. I liked the shirt with bow (because of the cream color scheme and fabric pattern, mostly) and thought the cut out on the pink sheath was a cute touch (though with the zipper accent down its back it went right to tackyville, for me at least).  It just didn’t all hang together.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_BEV2WB3MZRJHA4KD5DK4QY6FQQ Dinah

Of these I like Kimberly’s collection the best mostly because of that blue-green dress.  I liked the color palette.  Bryce’s was nice but feels like a decoy to me and except for that first skirt is nothing we’ve not really seen before.  There are a few pieces of Josh’s I liked but as a whole, no.  And his contained the pieces I didn’t like at all.  The worst thing is those diagonally laced shorts.  Mega unflattering, forced and pointless.  I liked his purple dress and that print he used.

    Craptastic.

I really think Josh has some major audacity to have been constantly calling Becky’s work  dumpy, when THOSE are the pants he sends down the runway at fashion week.

Time for a little less time spent applying eyebrow pencil and a little more time learning how to cut a pants pattern.

Bryce – snoozefest.  Clearly a dummy because no one in their right mind would send that skirt with that random shit attached to the bottom if they were competing.

Josh – egads, MY EYES.  He just has no taste.  And doesn’t know when to stop.  Those green  lace up shorts?  An affront to humanity.

Kimberley – that pink skirt that appears to be held together with safety pins?  OH HONEY NO.  I mean I kept scrolling up and zooming and and being like “why would she send that down the runway with it pulling like that so obviously?”.  Some wearable pieces, but all told, I’m underwhelmed.  None of these seemed finale worthy.

Josh styled his models to look like Josh.  Those green shorts and other stuff he designed are things that Josh wears.  I’m surprised that Josh didn’t choose to sashay down the runway himself, wearing nothing but a bedazzled jock strap.

OMG, you slay me.  SO FUNNY!

daniel franco in season 2 made that white jacket in kimberley’s collection. just watched the episode two days ago.

What is going on with these three designer’s sense of color?  The color stories are HIDEOUS!  Big disappointment.

I’ve always wondered if the judges scribble notes during every presentation or if they only break out the notebooks for the finalists. I’m guessing they have to pretend to take notes for all of them, but I’d love to know for sure.

Looking at Josh’s collection and  ya know what….still ugly as hell.

Josh must not be in the finale.  He doesn’t look like he really tried.  Nothing sparkled.  Isn’t he the more is more guy?  Nina must’ve broke his bedazzler.

I will scream if I have to see Josh’s collection on my TV screen. Grrr.

    Bryce: unmemorable
Kemberly: The first few pieces were kinda off but the rest if just straight up beautiful. I can definitely see Kemberly wear each and every one of her pieces. Either that’s a good thing or a bad.

Is it just me or does that bag in kimberley’s collection look like a giant blue nutsack?

  • http://www.madamovarypart2.blogspot.com madam ovary

Wow, I just loved Bryce’s – that blue?  I really am surprised!  Josh’s just looked kind of “juniors” to me…but what the hell do I know?

Now how exactly did Bryce get into the competition, much less this far? Definitely a mediocre student collection. The narcissist comments on Josh’s collection are dead on. Seriously tired of his tank tops. Kimberly’s taste level has always seemed lacking to me. She did bring a bit of class to a street look though.

If any of these 3 collections win, I’ll eat my hat.

  • http://twitter.com/BrickMercury Brick Mercury

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but Bryce has the overall best collection of these three.  It’s cohesive, well tailored, and has the fewest missteps.  He’s a sleeper….

i hope josh makes the top 3 just so nina can berate him endlessly over those green whoreshorts.  though i have a feeling they would have sent tim into convulsions, so i dont think he made it that far.  he’s got like 2 good pieces & the rest is pure dumbskankwear.

kimberly is the only one (other than bert maybe) to put some common sense into her collection.  she made clothes that women want & buy for themselves.  that’s usually the kiss of death on PR, so im going to take a gamble and say that anya wins, whether or not she deserves to.  but out of all of them, i would buy from bert & kimberly.

overall, not a single WOW in the whole bunch.  lots of nice stuff, but no one contestant this season has stepped up as the real star.

missy clinica designed that green short outfit for himself.  he would totally wear those shorts out to the club.

ugh, all of the designer’s work looks just AWFUL.  This has been the WORST season.  None of these folks have real talent as far as design goes.   I couldn’t care less who wins, they’re all bad.  Hell, I had to stop and remember who a couple of these folks were and I’ve been watching every week.

Ok, I’m going to say it.  I am sooooo happy that Kimberly and Anya used models that were not all white.  I am soooooo tired of these shows where after 15 outfits here comes the token not white model.  So many beautiful models.  Beauty comes in every hue.

Bryce : bland and uninspired (sorry). To me, that collection really seems to nicely sum up his work so far on project runway. Can’t say if he is top 3. I don’t think so.
Josh : first dress nice, simple, sleek, with a pop color. Nice combination. It’s like he did learn to edit himself. The effect pretty soon evaporate in all the crazy colors, print and… Is it plastic on the colar of the last outfits ? I’m afraid he’s in the top 3. Yuck.
Kimberley : Oh god. I was right : She’s the female counterpart of Michael from Season 3 ! All that bling bling and the tackyness and the shiny fabrics. I can’t get over all that to see the nice tailoring. There is some pretty nice outfits among that, with nice detailings. Can’t say if she’s Top 3.

If it were down to these three, then I would pick Kimberly for the win.  Josh’s collection made my eyes bleed…it was truly that bad.

A fluorescent green camel called. She wants her toe back.

On Brice’s third from the last photo, how did they put her head on backwards?  Or was it just the dress?

  • Bianca Reichmann

I don’t understand how Josh made it to the final 4.  It looks like stuff a tranny stripper would rip off as she spins around a pole.  He would be a perfect designer for Fredricks of Hollywood.  He’s like summer “no class” !!!

  • Madeline Small

oh josh… he was my favorite yet least favorite. This was my fave season but really Josh that mix match pattern is making me want to puke as much as it did the first time I saw it. Sorry JosPr
