Deauville American/Venice Film Festival Red Carpet

Posted on September 05, 2011

Darlings, it’s a holiday here in America but that doesn’t mean our international Bitter Kittens (as well as our American Bitter Kittens with no plans for the day) should go without our bitchery. Let’s do another red carpet rundown of various film festival looks, shall we? That’s always fun.

Emma Stone in Roland MouretEmma Stone at the opening ceremony of the 37th Deauville American Film Festival in Roland Mouret. Clutch and sandals by Alexander McQueen.

We’re not a fan of this color on her. The top half of the dress looks a bit sloppy to us, especially that sad little sash. Fierce shoes, though.

Kate Bosworth in ValentinoKate Bosworth at the opening ceremony of the 37th Deauville American Film Festival in Valentino.

It takes a special lady to make a sheer top and a ridiculously juvenile bow look matronly, bless.

Keira Knightley in ValentinoKeira Knightley attends the “A Dangerous Method” premiere during the 68th Venice Film Festival in Valentino.

We were going to say, “This looks a little too ‘Juliet’ for us,” but then we realized that has more to do with her hair than the dress, and besides, where better to get your Capulet on than at an Italian film festival? The dress is really pretty, we have to admit. It’s almost impossible to get this look wrong because there’s nothing to be done once the hair and makeup are set and the dress is on. No need for jewelry or accessories because no one’s going to notice them anyway.

Kate Winslet in Stella McCartneyKate Winslet attends the “Mildred Pierce” premiere during the 68th Venice Film Festival in Stella McCartney.

Wow, she is REALLY in love with her body lately, isn’t she? It’s a sharp dress but it’s too tight on her and it makes her boobs look like a double scoop of vanilla (which isn’t necessarily a bad thing). The whole look says “Trying way too hard.”

LUV HUH. She took a dress that looked somewhat plain on the model and, with some judicious and clever Twiggifying of her hair and face, turned it into something sassy, chic and eye-catching. Whoever’s circling her orbit and making sure she looks good lately deserves a raise.

I like Emma Stone in that color. I think its nice.

    • Anonymous

Me, too. I also like the dress in general — I think it looks youthful and easy. Plus, I’d kill for her hair.

    • Anonymous

I do like that color on Emma Stone.  Unfortunately, the material reminds me of a tablecloth I have.

      • Anonymous

Me too. A tablecloth that was once a brighter color that faded in the wash.

    • Anonymous

I agree, I thought the dress looked particularly good with her hair color.

    • Anonymous

I’m with you.  I think it brings out the red shine in her hair.  I also like how she made the dress her own – (e.g. it looks like she subtly changes the neckline to something more do-able).

    • Anonymous

I love coppery colors on redheads (being one, myself). I’m not that crazy about the limp neckline, but I’m okay with the rest of it.

      also.

me too.  I think this is a great color on her

The only one coming off well here is Evan. Wow. And can I just say that I LOVE that Alessandra Rich model??

    • Anonymous

I know!  I loved her in the white dress from the other day as well…she looks very “Garden of the Finzi- Continis” to me.

  • http://profiles.google.com/burchardg Greg Burchard

I think Emma Stone looks wonderful head to toe.

    • seff p

I agree.  I’m a fan of the color and the dress.  Not her that much, though.

  • Anonymous

Kate Winslet looks the worst to me–I hate that dress on her.

    • http://profiles.google.com/sara.e.munoz Sara Munoz

The dress says “Here are my boobs. You’re welcome.”

      • Anonymous

I found myself involuntarily saying “Va VOOM” when I saw her, which isn’t a good thing.  Especially when she’s going to a Mildred Pierce thing in which she was so incredibly good as an actress.  Of course, Mildred dressed much more simply – so maybe she’s trying to distance herself from her character.

She does have a great body. But that dress is so tight it looks like a sausage casing. Poke her with a fork and she’d explode!

I’d still like to bite into that sausage, though.

A dress that makes a stick-straight model look as if she has an hourglass figure should never be worn by someone with an actual hourglass figure. I screams Jessica Rabbit—and not in a good way.

Kate Winslet can do pretty much no wrong in my book, but if the top of your extremely expensive dress is identical to my industrial-strength sports bra you are, in fact, doing something wrong.

    • Victoria Sharoyan

Agreed. I love her so much, but when I saw her in the paper in THAT, I was embarrassed for her.

I agree about Emma Stone’s sash, but other than that I think she looks great – red-carpet and effortless at the same time.

I wonder if Kate Winslet just had her boobs done or something; everything she wears lately seems designed to draw attention to them, but then the clothes don’t fit properly, almost as if she hasn’t gotten used to them.

As an international bitter kitten, I’d just like to say cheers  to TLo for posting today – that’s mucho decent of you guys, thanks!

Also, Evan Rachel Wood looks so good in that dress. It’s quite sexy yet quirky but somehow looks tasteful enough even though it’s basically lacy peekaboo stripes across her chest (albeit over flesh coloured material).
Kate Winslet, on the other hand, is smugness personified. That dress is complete overkill; it looks like a fancy elongated swimsuit – I half expect her to appear beside a diving board.

ERW wins hands down.  She looks excellent!

I like Emma Stone’s look quite a bit, but I am partial to slim, column dresses and I hate frou-frou

Which leads me to Keira Knightly.  Sorry…but….HATE.  I dislike the dress period and I dislike it on her.  She looks like a sad, brocade couch.

    • Anonymous

i liked keira’s look but i liked your comment “sad brocade couch” even more.  Snorted my coffee when i read that!  thanks!  xo

      “Sad brocade couch”

      Yes!

    • Anonymous

I disagree with the conclusion about the Valentino gown on KK but “sad brocade couch” is a well-placed phrase!

      “Titty bib” = awesome.

I actually like Emma here, but ERW is shutting it down. The best part is she clearly knows it, therefore adding more to the fabulousness of it.

  • Now I am The Bee

Want the Valentino right now, please.

  • Alisa Rivera

Emma Stone: baby diarrhea (but agree the shoes are faboo)

Kate Bosworth: Gotta disagree with you. She looks classic and chic, and I love the shoes, ankle straps and all

Keira Knightley: That’s a Florence Welch dress if I ever saw one. I’m not digging it on Keira.

Kate Winslet: Love her as an actress but her public persona is starting to grate. Trying way, way too hard.

Evan Rachel Wood: Really love the hair and makeup, but the wrinkles in the dress really take away from the look.

  • Anonymous

This lineup reminds me of the current PR crop–nothing really great, a lot of fug, and bad styling all around.

Emma Stone: Shoes that combine gladiator and Clydesdale hooves.  No. The shoes the model is wearing are so much better. The dress? Meh.  Styling? Awful.

I think Kate Bosworth looks adorable. The dress fits her well, it’s flirty and pretty, and it shows off her great legs.

KK: She’s on the small end of sample sizes and could wear couture looks better than just about anyone, and she chooses something that looks like what some low-level duchess would wear to meet the queen?

Evan Rachel Wood: “Dallas” with boring BOGO shoes.

Kate Winslet: Why are you channeling Jayne Mansfield? Yes, your body is amazing. But your girls are big, and the tight white top makes them look gigantic.  Top-heavy is not a good look.  A shame because the length is terrific, and the shoes, hair, and makeup are flawless.

  • Anonymous

There’s something weird about “premièring” a cable television mini-series at an international film festival.

It’s odd.  I like the material and the cut of Emma Stone’s dress, but it needs perking up.  It droops.  I’m not sure how you’d fix that.

You’re wrong about Kate Bosworth.  Fabulous dress, she looks elegant, but I’m a bit annoyed that you couldn’t find a close-up of those shoes, which seem to be excellent.

It’s Evan Rachel Wood who is rocking the dowdy.  Ugh.   Kate Winslet, on the other hand, is rocking her inner Diana Dors.

    Knightley looks Renaissance.

  • Anonymous

I think Emma Stone’s dress is lovely (both in general and on her). That sad sash though, is unfortunate.

Also, what is up with Kate Winslet these days? She looks like an older woman trying to look young, not the young woman she is. Did she fire her old stylist?

    • Anonymous

Isn’t she somewhat newly single?  That may be why she’s showing off the bod.  I do appreciate the “slimming voodoo” of the dress, but it is a bit much.

One of my knee-jerk responses to it was “He does landscapes.” Internet points to anyone who gets the reference.

      • http://twitter.com/Wild_Horses__ Beth

*raises hand wildly* Ooh, ooh, I know! That’s Titanic! Let’s see…Rose says
Monet (?) doesn’t blush, and Jack says, “he does landscapes”.

Emma Stone’s dress reminds me of The Paper Bag Princess. Not a great color or fit.

  • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

    In order of appearance:
Emma Stone.  Dress is a size too big, needs a much wider belt to balance the look.  Great shoes though.
Kate Bosworth.  Its just aging looking on her.  Maybe a looser hair style and funkier shoes?
Keira Knightley.  Love the dress and the look.  Its such a spectacular dress it needs no other statements. She looks lovely.
Kate Winslet: Oh honey NO!  It makes you look like some on the gad babe in Vegas.
Evan Rachel Wood:  The winner.  Totally agree TLo.  She rocked it all over the place.

  • Anonymous

that Valentino is wonderful. That  silhouette is probably my all-time favorite cut for skirts. ERW looks insanely good, although slightly, just slightly, like old Kirsten Dunst (NOT clothing/style wise, of course, just in terms of sheer resemblance). And Kate Winslet is someone I have always liked, but wow. I’m all for accentuate the positive but that’s just ridiculous.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_TFDDXGYWAUZBM4M5MJIINUHWBA Martha

Love the lace bodice on the ERW dress.  I would wear that if slit stoped a bit further south.

KW white dress  Yikes!  I expect it to come with a slapstik, a BAZONGA horn and a lowrent vaudvillian sidekick

  • http://twitter.com/jessicapippin Jessica Pippin

I think the color looks pretty decent on Emma Stone. Who else can really pull off that coloring? Hair and makeup look great. Kate Bosworth..whatever. Keira Knightly…I just love her. I think she looks amazing in almost anything. Wish the hair was somewhat more exciting though. But Kate Winslet..as soon as I saw those pics I thought, “WOW.” The dress is a smidge too tight, but she looks hot.

  • Anonymous

ERW looks fantastic – love the ankle-length skirt, very 60s chic. KK’s look has that odd, time has stopped vibe that minor European aristocracy tends to wear. And I never thought I would say it of her, but Kate W. looks spectacularly vulgar here.

Kate Winslet, starring in the sequel to “Who Framed Roger Rabbit?”:  ”Jessica Rabbit, the Desperate Years.”

    • Anonymous

Ooh! You beat me to it. I posted while I was still reading page 1 and just noticed you got the same Jessica Rabbit vibe I did.

  • Anonymous

All of them are better than average. Keira Knightly, being my favorite. I love the hair and the severe elegance of the gown. Evan Rachel Wood also looks very elegant, but I wish she hadn’t felt the need to stick her leg out like that, ackward and unnecessary.
Kate Winslet looks a bit like a Jessica Rabbit blow up doll ( she was poured in, and forgot to say “when”).

  • Anonymous

The only thing I can say about Kate Winslet is “vacuum packed for freshness.” I had to immediately avert my eyes from the horror.

    • Anonymous

“Vacuum packed for freshness”! Haha! Think I’ll wander the streets just to find a reason to say that. BTW, would your hairless cats like some hair? My cats seem to have an overstock of it…

  • Anonymous

LOVE Keira and ERW.  Kate W just needs a lobster cartooned on the white bit of her dress.  Kate B looks like a bobblehead.

  • Anonymous

I LOATHE that Stella McCartney dress in general and REALLY LOATHE it on Ms. Winslet.  Really, I would think she is smarter and more aware of herself than to do that.  And the hair only makes it worse.

  • http://profiles.google.com/misslauraschultz Laura Schultz

Wow, disagree with just about all of your assessments. I LOOOVE Emma Stone in that dress. I think it’s flawless and the color looks amazing on her. I like Kate Bosworth’s dress and don’t mind the bow at all. Kate Winslet looks FIERCE in that dress. I think Evan Rachel Wood looks ok but I’m not sure about her make-up.

  • http://profiles.google.com/misslauraschultz Laura Schultz

Oh, and I think Keira Knightley looks like a tablecloth and her hair is a nightmare

  • Anonymous

KK’s hair is not doing that dress justice. It is gorgeous. REW looks spectacular and the other Kate has gone so far to the Va Va Voom that she looks like she is going to explode.

  • Anonymous

I like Emma Stone’s dress.  It looks easy and comfortable.  The color is great on her, but the sash is a little too minimal.  Keira Knightly is a little overdressed but she looks pretty.  Evan Rachel Wood is beautiful in that dress, and in fact she’s beautiful in pretty much anything she wears.  But Kate Winslet – OMG WTF!?!  Did she lose a bet?  Here’s a fashion tip for her:  If you gain 30 pounds you have to get new clothes.

  • Anonymous

LOVE LOVE LOVE Evan Rachel Wood’s ensemble…she looks fantastic! Never thought I’d say this but Kate Winslet looks desperate and confused……

  • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

I’ve decided that Kate Winslet has been possessed by the evil spirit of Kim Kardashian.  We must intervene before its too late.  Anyone know a good ritual for that?

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_BA6BTBV4V3MQRX6K2HDEL7Y7TU MerridithK

Evan Rachel Wood and Emma Stone knocked it out of the park.  HELLS yeah!  :)

  • Anonymous

Re: Emma Stone  The dress is beautifully designed in a spectacular silk material of a wonderful color that compliments her creamy skin and gorgeous hair.  The black accent at the waist is a ribbon, not a sash, and it’s perfect.   As Mammy Yokum used to say, “I has spoken!”

  • https://me.yahoo.com/a/dLUE.9h6zdoHMLprP6AQrSQpKt0CZys-#e58b4 tom

I like the both of the Valentinos.  I hate the Stella McCartney dress; it looks as if a mentally challenged woman put her bra on last instead of first.

  • Anonymous

May I please have Evan’s stylist? I promise I’ll take good care of them.

I like the color on Emma Stone–very flattering for a redhead–and I’m okay with the low-key style of the dress.

I just love, love, love, that Valentino Fall 2011 collection. For my next red carpet event, I will wear one of those dresses. You may all come and take pictures.

sharp group, overall. I don’t find myself grateful that black has replaced “nude” on the pump front, though. this platform pump is such a boring style. if you can’t wear over the top shoes on the RC in Venice…
and I think KK’s dress looks like something you’d see on one of the higher-priced limited edition Barbies.

Kate Winslet looks like she’s doing an impression of Kim Catrall. Scary.

Kate Winslet needs to stop breaking my heart and disappointing me. Emma Stone’s dress is a little sad to me.  Also, I don’t like tops that are supposed to drape and have been obviously taped to the wearer’s boobs. I don’t mind Kate Bosworth’s dress, but I LOVE her shoes. Knightly looks a bit overdressed to me, though it is a beautiful dress. I’m thinking Evan Rachel Wood for the win. My absolute favorite of all the looks here.

  • Grace Ritt

I really like Emma Stone’s dress. Kate Bosworth looks way too serious. Keira Knightley is a fucking princess. Kate Winslet is an alien. And Evan Rachel Wood is a goddess.

  • Anonymous

Emma Stone always brings a smile to my face. There’s something about Kate Bosworth that switches on the auto-bore. Love that Keira Knightley is doing Juliet in Italy! Although I wouldn’t want celebs to start doing theme dressing, Juliet is an opportunity I’m glad she grabbed while she still can. And she looks magnificently regal. Thank you, boys, for following up So Wrong (Kate Winslet) with So Right (Evan Rachel Wood). ‘Nuff said there.

Kate B—LBD for an eight-year-old’s tea party or a DAR fundraiser

Kate W–what Wonder Woman wears on her days off
    Evan Rachel–A+++++

The problem with Emma Stone’s dress isn’t the colour, it’s the collar. Namely, the unbearable droopiness of its being. The whole top half is sad. Don’t let Danielle from this season’s PR see it or her next addiction will be tablecloth-textured silk.

  • Anonymous

    Dear Kate Winslet,
I really like your body too! But you should try and let it breathe sometime, it makes life easier.

  • Anonymous

I’ve always thought that Kate Winslet is incredibly beautiful.  But here, I really thought at first glance that she was wearing one of those gigantic sets of plastic boobs that were so mysteriously popular on Ru Paul’s Drag Race this past season.

    Evan Rachel Wood looks fantastic.

Agree on Emma’s sash, but otherwise I kind of like it on her – the colour works and the shoes are fab.
Bosworth’s dress manages to be twee and funereal at the same time, which I didn’t know was possible.
Knightley looks ridiculous – way overdressed and an unflattering ‘do.
That Stella McCartney doesn’t even look good on the model. Not sure what’s going on with Winslet these days; maybe since the rumours about her actually being a real bitch are becoming more prevalent, she’s decided to embrace the part?
Not wild about ERW’s dress, but she is working the shit out of it. Her makeup and hair are divine.

ERW is definitely being dressed and styled well these days.  Brava to her!

Now Miss Winslet – last week I thought she was being dressed as A Serious Actress.  I think I was wrong.  This dress is just ridiculous.  Last week it was Posh Spice, this week it’s Beatle’s Daughter; is she going on an English designer streak?

  • kim i

i actually LOVE that color on emma stone; she’s like a fresh breath of … autumn.  and i love ERW’s look, too, but i think the belt would have helped cinch the look.  I’M SORRY.  I PUN.  it’s a curse.

  • http://twitter.com/vintagegoddess just julie

    Kate’s dress kills me.
Was just looking through the red carpet for “Tinker Tailor Solider Spy” and MY GOD that is a fine looking group of men.
Cumberbatch and Colin Firth and Mark Strong….

  • Mary McClelland

I don’t think Bosworth’s dress is that bad, she just has such a little girl frame everything hangs on her. That Valentino needs a little va-va-voom to make it pop.  Also, the dull shoes and hair, plus invisible jewelry don’t help.  Liz Taylor would wear that dress like there’s no tomorrow in her prime.

As for Winslet.  Good lord woman – do you not own a mirror?! She and Bosworth should swap dresses, because someone with no boobs and no curves could pull off the vanilla ice cream scoop boobs and someone with no boobs and no curves CAN’T pull off the Valentino.  I mean that Stella dress combined with that uber blonde hair and those dark eyebrows just do nothing for her but wash her out and age her.

ERW’s dress is phenomenal, but I wish it were a shade shorter.  She is looking amazing lately.  Good for her!

Also, so happy Emma Stone is back to being a red-head; blonde was simply not her color! It aged her and washed her out major.

    Keira – you look fine.

And yet more of Scary Winslet’s premature mid-life crises. This hard edged look is making her look way older than 35. She looks like an aerobics instructor in her late 40s out on the town. Sharon Stone meets SATC’s Samantha!
I appreciate the whole English Rose thing was probably getting a bit wearing, but this recent look takes away everything that made her attractive and distinctive.

Everyone looks lovely, but Kate Winslet is my favorite.  She looks so womanly, so feminine yet, entirely strong.  (Feminine these days seems to mean looking like a child rather than looking like an adult.) The dress is tight, but she’s covered up top to bottom (with pulled-back hair rather than loose waves or bedhead), so she achieves a sexy look without going  into club territority.  Honestly, Kaye’s body is so slamming that she could easily “try harder” here, but instead she looks sunny, effortless, and unpretentious. Well done!

So glad someone else is coming to KW’s defense. I love to see dresses that embrace and flatter curves instead of those which try to hide them or which only look good on toothpicks. I think KW looks fantastic.

Yep, I agree with both of you. I hate the bib, but I think Kate looks fracking incredible in that dress.

Love the color on Emma (and on redheads in general), but I agree about the top half of the gown. I agree with everything you said about Kate Winslet. Unfortunately. And I hate the bleached hair. Way too harsh for her. Hope it’s only for a role.

There’s nothing terrible with any of it, except for a bunch of minor things: Emma Stone’s schoolgirl hair, Kate Bosworth’s boring dress (but love the shoes!), Keira Knightley’s braids (I wish this trend would die, though she looks otherwise lovely), Kate Winslet is a bit much for my taste, and Evan Rachel Wood’s got too much eye makeup on.

ERW can do no wrong lately, but Kate!! What has happened to her? I love her acting, but when I first glanced at that picture I saw Coco. Yes, that Coco (Ice T’s wife). Not really a resemblance, but that dress is so bad Coco popped to mind.

I usually am on board with you guys when it comes to color, but I have to strongly disagree with regard to Emma Stone. The copper is absolutely refreshing and perfect for her skin tone and hair. I don’t think she should wear it all the time, but she looks amazing in that color!

  • BerlinerNYC

ERW looks stunning. Kate Winslet just beamed down from planet Boobulon.

I thought that was Snooki in the photo of Kate Winslet.  HORRIBLE.

And I think the Alessandra Rich model looks like she’s starving.  And is she wearing WHITE SOCKS with her shoes in that photo?  Evan Rachel Wood, however, looks amazing.  Work that Twiggy look!

Sweet Baby J!  I thought this post was in 3D when I saw Kate Winslet.  They’re gonna poke my eyes out!!

  • http://twitter.com/verascity Vera Sticker

I think this is the best look I’ve ever seen on ERW. I haven’t been as in love with her past stuff as you guys have, but I did a little gay gasp when I saw her.

I’m sitting here alone in front of my laptop and when I saw the photo of Kate Winslet, I actually said out loud:  “oh, no, honey.”

LOVE the Sophia Loren eye makeup on ERW.

It’s obviously just me, but I think Kate Winslet looks good, although I don’t like her hair there. She’s rocking her bod and I say good for her.

Keira Knightly has an almost Audrey Hepburn like quality. She’s certainly the same kind of born clothes horse.

Emma Stone looks lovely… her hair was so pretty.   And regarding Ms. Winslet,  my boobie loving husband said the following “you’d put your eye out.. Is it a 3D movie?”.. Hate her hair as well.   The last dress.. beautiful.

I love Emma Stone.  I think she looks brilliant.  Kate Winslet however.. I don’t think I’ve seen her look this awful in a long time.  That dress is dreadful.  It’s like she put on her girdle and forgot the formal wear.  It’s just plain ugly.

  • vmcdanie

The only real slam dunk here is Evan Rachel Wood. Love Emma Stone, do not love the dress (those shoes look painful. I hope her seat is close by.) Love Kate Winslet but the dress is too tight-not unflattering, just too tight-and the bib thing looks odd.  I haven’t seen the rest of the red carpet at Venice but Keira Knightley looks overdressed to me.

Kate Bosworth looks less wan and painfully thin than usual.

I don’t mind the Valentino on Keira but I think she should have gone with the version of the dress the model is wearing in the background of the runway pic

  • http://www.facebook.com/fiddlecub Kevin VanOrd

Evan Rachel Wood just gets more and more gorgeous and fashion-forward.

Can someone turn down Kate Winslet’s headlights?

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Catherine-Rhodes/602850414 Catherine Rhodes

I love every single dress here, except the Kate Winslet dress which should be burned immediately. The gold Valentino took my breath away.

  • Sara__B

Emma: Looking good, except for the sad little sash. Kate B: What TLo said — juvenile and matronly all at the same time. Kiera: An amazing gown and it fits perfectly, but she’s almost invisible in it. Kate W: A caricature of a cougar. She’s trying ‘way too hard for such a young woman. Evan Rachel Wood: A rising red carpet star. She’s even making that extreme eye makeup work.

  • http://profiles.google.com/ballinger.jl Jessica Ballinger

All about the Evan Rachel Wood.  She is working the shit out of that dress, the model should take notes.

  • MilaXX

Emma – Eh’ it’s okay. The dress doesn’t have a very defied waist on her. Love the shoes, hate the hair.
Kate – I like this look on her.
Kiera – I think the dress is fine, but I would have preferred a softer hair.
Kate – Too tight & too boobalicious.
ERW – It has been brought!

  • http://janeaustensworld.wordpress.com/ Vic

Yeah to Kate for loving her curves. When size 0′s and lollipop heads wear tight, very few comments are made. Kate’s tight looks just about right.

Whoever’s circling her orbit and making sure she looks good lately needs to slide on over and help out Kate Winslet.

Something odd about Stone’s face and PLEASE FEED BOSWORTH – cripes she makes the model look plus size. Her waist in that first pic is terrifying

  • http://beautyforrealgirls.blogspot.com/ accidental housewife

Oh my lord, of course the dress Kate Winslet is wearing is completely ridiculous. I just noticed it’s a Stella McCartney dress. I swear if her name were Stella Schnickelfritz, no one would give her designs the time of day. She’d be laughed out of the fashion industry. Kate does look amazing in it, minus the boob bib.

Emma looks terrific, from her lovely red head down to her fiercely covered feet.

Kiera looks like she still believes a white knight is coming to save her. It’s a gorgeous dress, but maybe a bit too much?

ERW looks so fabulous. The model looks like chopped liver compared to her.

  • http://twitter.com/#!/Space_Kitty Space Kitty

My kingdom for ERW’s makeup artist.

  • http://twitter.com/wednesdaydreams Natalie

I liked Emma Stone’s dress, but not in that color. A brighter shade of yellow would have looked lovely. Keira was fabulous, but I agree, the hair could have been changed. Evan was amazing, I loved the black lace paneling and the twiggy look she’s going for. She was all about ’40s and ’50s hair and makeup the last two years, perhaps she’s moving into the ’60s now!

Every one of those looks is an IN for me.  Emma Stone looks DIVINE in that color with her hair.  Keira is DIVINE in that gold frock, it’s fantastic!  Kate Winslet rocks that look, but the boob area is off… Evan Rachel Wood’s is a bit boring, but still good.

Kate needs a spin class for that dress.  it looks like something I used wear when I cycled.  it does not say RC when the outfit would look better if the skirt was transformed into lycra bike shorts.  yuck yuck yuck.
ERW – she’s getting posing advice to die for as well as great styling.
was the keira knightly Juliet hair in this set?  can’t remember.  hated the neckline.  but the fabric, hair, wow – great on her.  (*running off to get some scissors*)

  • shorty j

I keep trying to hate on ERW (although I really don’t know WHY) but damn. I wish my hair looked that cute. Except I have chipmunk cheeks, so it’s definitely for the best that I have short fuzzy hair instead.

Also, as a fellow large-chested gal, I think I know what Kate’s problem is, and it’s that her boobs are too big for the boobspace in that dress. That’s why it starts to look awkward–because her rack isn’t coloring within the lines of that bib-thing. If the boobspace were bigger (I’m NOT going to say “if her boobs were smaller” because hell no), it would still be HELLO HERE ARE MY BOSOMS, but there would be a lot more emphasis on her waist and her rack instead of squishing ‘em all together. One of the major joys of having big boobs is that they make your waist look tiny, but you gotta treat ‘em right to pull that off.

  • Candice Richardson

Kate’s dress looks like those beach tshirt/coverups with the headless bikini body on it. LMAO!

Love Keira, Emma and Kate and Kate are all a skosh less than great, and Evan is spilling WERQ juice all over the place. Mildred Pierce?

    More like Mildred FIERCE.

    Well done, ladies.

      WERQ-juice.  I LIKE that.

I didn’t recognize her but I love Emma’s dress.  I love Kate for embracing that hourglass.  Forty years ago, those curves would have made her an international sex symbol!

I think Emma S. looks sleek and sexy and like she isn’t trying too hard which frankly is something I can’t stand.
I also love Evan RW – she is knocking it out of the park lately.
I think Kate Bosworth, oh forget it. oy.
Keira is wearing way too much dress for, um, for anything. Seriously, next to Emma she looks like she got the wrong memo and thought it was Oscar night.

Evan Rachel Wood’s hair looks a little Julie Andrews to me. She’s great, head to toe.
