Darlings, it’s a holiday here in America but that doesn’t mean our international Bitter Kittens (as well as our American Bitter Kittens with no plans for the day) should go without our bitchery. Let’s do another red carpet rundown of various film festival looks, shall we? That’s always fun.
Emma Stone at the opening ceremony of the 37th Deauville American Film Festival in Roland Mouret. Clutch and sandals by Alexander McQueen.
Roland Mouret Fall 2011 Collection
We’re not a fan of this color on her. The top half of the dress looks a bit sloppy to us, especially that sad little sash. Fierce shoes, though.
Kate Bosworth at the opening ceremony of the 37th Deauville American Film Festival in Valentino.
Valentino Fall 2011 Collection
It takes a special lady to make a sheer top and a ridiculously juvenile bow look matronly, bless.
Keira Knightley attends the “A Dangerous Method” premiere during the 68th Venice Film Festival in Valentino.

We were going to say, “This looks a little too ‘Juliet’ for us,” but then we realized that has more to do with her hair than the dress, and besides, where better to get your Capulet on than at an Italian film festival? The dress is really pretty, we have to admit. It’s almost impossible to get this look wrong because there’s nothing to be done once the hair and makeup are set and the dress is on. No need for jewelry or accessories because no one’s going to notice them anyway.
Kate Winslet attends the “Mildred Pierce” premiere during the 68th Venice Film Festival in Stella McCartney.
Stella McCartney Fall 2011 Collection
Wow, she is REALLY in love with her body lately, isn’t she? It’s a sharp dress but it’s too tight on her and it makes her boobs look like a double scoop of vanilla (which isn’t necessarily a bad thing). The whole look says “Trying way too hard.”
Evan Rachel Wood attends the “Mildred Pierce” premiere during the 68th Venice Film Festival in Alessandra Rich.
Alessandra Rich fall 2011 Collection
LUV HUH. She took a dress that looked somewhat plain on the model and, with some judicious and clever Twiggifying of her hair and face, turned it into something sassy, chic and eye-catching. Whoever’s circling her orbit and making sure she looks good lately deserves a raise.
