Dianna Agron Goes Pink

Posted on August 12, 2011

It’s the end of the week and we’re all tired, aren’t we kittens? We can barely muster the strength to judge someone.

Pictures:

Opinions:

Love the sunglasses; that’s a cute little sundress and pair of flats; and hey, if the girl wants to rock the Kool-Aid hair for a little she should go right ahead and do it. She’s young and it’s summer.

Question:

Dianna Agron’s Raspberry Rinse: Yea or Nay?

The hair could look cute, but I don’t like the sloppy way it’s wrangled in the pictures. Maybe it’s the wind or something.

I actually think that makes it more fun and less serious, and also more becoming to her. If it was a solid hot pink it’d be very harsh.

        • Sobaika Mirza

I never mentioned the color. I was talking about the little side clips. Looks messy, like an adult Pebbles. In a bad way.

          • margaret meyers

It is a little twee on an adult.

Dianna Agron just tweeted that the pink hair is for work (I’m assuming Glee) and she’ll have it for a few more days. I wonder what happened for Quinn to have pink hair?

        • Anonymous

Well, I hope that is the case cuz then I can forgive it. Otherwise booooo.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=753925552 Dustin Phillips

I’m pretty sure her hair is that color for the new season of Glee.  They just started up again.

      • http://pleasewelcomeyourjudges.com/ Brian @ PWYJudges

        I agree – it’s gotta be a Glee color.

I love it! Whatever, she’s got nothing going on at the moment, and she clearly wanted to have fun, so why not? She looks adorable.

Hey! I just bought that dress! Does that mean I should dye my hair pink too?

    • Anonymous

Yea. If I were young and cute and blond I would TOTALLY have pink hair right now.

    • http://www.what-the-frock.com Dana WhatTheFrock

They just started shooting Glee again, so I hope it’s for that. I hope that, during the summer, Quinn decided to completely make herself over from the princess into the punk rock kid. Or something. It would make for an interesting character development (not that the Glee team has ever heard of that).

I’m not crazy about the hair (although I had the same color back in 1994) but she’s young and cute so whatevs.

      • aimee_parrott

LOL… character development on Glee.  That’s funny.

      • http://twitter.com/Megan_Burgess Megan

Yea, she just tweeted that it’s for Glee: http://twitter.com/#!/DiannaAgron/status/102143016365604864

I don’t know if this is going to be good or a trainwreck. With Glee, it could go either way.

    • Anonymous

I don’t mind the color of her hair, but it looks majorly sloppy and the roots are not doing her any favors.  There’s too much dyed for it to look like only the tips were intentionally done and the color itself is so pale it just looks like she dyed it hot pink 4 months ago and now it’s faded and grown out.  Definitely should have done all of it.  Like the dress, though!

      • Anonymous

I agree. It doesn’t need to be a solid wall of pink, but the roots look terrible. When will an inch of dark roots go out of style??

    • http://twitter.com/Menshevixen DH

I kinda love it, but then I’ve always wanted pink hair. Or bright blue. :B

It is? Maybe the Manic Panic (showing my age) red stuff is, I don’t know. But trying-to-look-like-a-redhead hair colour fades abominably fast. I’m putting my stylist’s kids through university.

        • Toto Maya

Mine tends to hold pretty well, but my stylist uses a blend of colors including this reddish-brown and it tends to fade to that eventually. Hair still looks red, but it’s not striking. But I like it that way because it looks natural.

        • Anonymous

Yes, but even though it fades much more quickly I understand it’s the most difficult color to strip.

Nay. First it was Katy Perry, then Sienna Miller, now Dianna Agron. This is not a trend I want to see come back. It needs to stay in 1999 where it belongs.

I’m not really fond of chemically japanimation girl’s induced hair so, this is definitely a big NAY.
Still, the girl can do whatever it pleases her with her hair, I don’t care that much.

I just had to stop and laugh at the words “checmically japanimation girl’s induced hair”, and then read it a few more times to see if I’d understood correctly. Actually, I’m still not sure what it means.

Doesn’t the word “rock” in the context of clothes/accessories/hair usually mean that they look good? Because she does not look good. At all. It really looks like she did it with kool-aid. And those roots? Good grief.

Yea!  If you’re in the mood for pink hair, go for it.

As someone who has rocked pink hair, I’m all for crazy colors.  However, I do think that you should determine what works best with your skin tone.  I also think, regardless of color, that you shouldn’t have 3 inch roots.  She’s got the pink, the blonde, and what looks to be her natural brunette.  So.  Yea for choosing to do something like this.  Nay on the execution.

I love the dress, shoes, and sunglasses.

IF YOU’RE GOING TO GO AN UNNATURAL COLOR, FIX YOUR ROOTS.

However, this is a shot on the street, and I know that half the time when I’m just going around the corner I half-ass it, so I’ll reserve my judgement for if she shows up at an event with all her roots visible.

Honestly, I’ve always wanted to dye my hair a wacky color. I can’t due to my current career, and the fact that my hair is very resistant to dying (I tried to dye it blue twice and it didn’t take). If you can get away with it, I think everyone should try it at least once. Why the heck not? It’s just protein growing out of your head.

YEA!!!!   She looks like an adorable young girl, and you don’t get adorable and young for all that long…

    • http://twitter.com/capt_shiny Mags

Nay to the hair. So much nay. But the dress is alright.

    • Anonymous

      SHe looks adorable. Yea!

      YEA!

    • Anonymous

Yea!  I like when stars look like normal folk.

    • Anonymous

Why not? She’s not filming. Let her do something totally cray-cray.

    • Jill Roberts

YAY!  Always to the good when you take a conventionally pretty girl and give her a little edge.

    • Anonymous

Well it’s for filming. But still, nay Glee. Nay. At least fix her roots.

    • Anonymous

Nay on the Razzberry Fabray.  I don’t mind it in theory – and maybe it’s the fact that it’s not hers by choice – but she, Dianna, just isn’t owning it. (Unless it’s “owning” in that Viktor “I own, but am not responsible” kind of owning.)

Somehow it all works together. I kept thinking Pretty In Pink to myself. IN.

Yea, though I didn’t even recognize her. It’s a cute dress, I like the  blue shoes, and I like the playful pink hair even if is for work (and I’m pretty curious about that). I’m good with ators not being styled to a fare-thee-well when they’re out grabbing coffee.

    • http://twitter.com/onetimeko maybe more

Yea! Same color and length I’ve been working for a while now. I’m growing it out so I can give my hair a rest from being chemically altered, but it’s a bit hard to let go of. Rock on, Dianna!

    • elzatelzabelz

Yes, she’s young, she’s cute. Why not? I’d do it for kicks if I didn’t have a corporate job!

    • margaret meyers

yes. summertime, summertime, sum, sum, summmertime.

    • Anonymous

yea. I think she looks cute. Presentable and pulled together in a casual, I-wasn’t-planning-on-being-photographed way. The hair is fun.

    • Anonymous

Would have been better without the weird pigtails sticking up everywhere.  Color is fine and appropriate for fun summertime.

    • Greg Wellman

Somehow that hair says “12 years old” which I doubt is the intent.

    • emily mcginnis

don’t love the hair. i love colored streaks (and have a blue one myself). but i don’t care for it all over.

but i do love the dress. i’ve been drooling over it at Anthrolopogie. sigh.

    • MilaXX

Yay! It’s a cute, young fun look and the outfit looks great.

    • Anonymous

IN! Even though I do not care for the hair or the whole outfit for that matter,  she can rock it at her age.

      GO GIRL!

    • Anonymous

I think her hair’s kinda cute. It’s weird, though. She looks ridiculously beautiful in the one or two outfits and way she’s made up on Glee. In street clothes, she looks merely cute. I think the same thing for her red carpet looks. She looks younger and prettier in less makeup.

    • Anonymous

Like. But I’m partial to pink hair.

    • Anonymous

      Hell to the Yeah!

First comment ever here… I hope I can be a a true bitter kitten someday.

That said, I think she looks adorable here…. at her age, she can rock the pink hair for summer and have fun.  If she were 10 years older, it would be kind of tragic.

      • Lisa

For your first post as a Bitter Kitten, that was well said, and welcome!  I agree – do it now while you’re young enough to have a bit of a kooky summer with a brief (very brief, please) foray into pink hair.  I think she looks adorable *for her age*!

    • http://profiles.google.com/sara.e.munoz Sara Munoz

YEA. Cute. She is allowed to have fun!!! And everything else is adorable. I even want her drink.

    • Anonymous

      She looks like an 8th-grader.

      • Anonymous

Yup, but that’s not a bad thing when you’re in your 20′s.  In your 40′s, tragic.

    • Anonymous

Yea! It’s fun and she looks cute. The roots make me twitchy eyed but you know, whatever. I don’t think she was all that committed to pink hair.

Having come from the era of buy the oldest $4 pair of jeans you can at the old-ass used jeans store, and THEN bleaching and stoning them to shit for my era’s “rock-it-while-you-can” look, I’m totally jealous, and yes, supportive of the Kool-Aid hair-with-cute-summer-dress look.  The day there isn’t that kind of look, summer and youth have taken a walk.  Hell, they just might be on the ropes already.

    • Toni Mitt

She looks darling.  The perfect picture of a young starlet relaxnig on her day off.  Cute!

If you don’t go pink in your 20s, when can you go pink? Enjoy your youth, Diana! :-)

    • Anonymous

She looks as cute as a strawberry frappe. And I like that dress.

    • Anonymous

Hey, her dress is on sale at Anthropolgie right now!

    • Patricia Biswanger

YAY.  For a short time.  A very short time.

    • Anonymous

Well, nay. I rarely have a problem with anyone going cray cray with the hair color, but if you’re going to do it DO IT RIGHT. Go all the way and own it or don’t bother. Sorry, but this chick ain’t owning it and it looks like crapola. This is the opposite of fierce. So NAY, go home!

    • Anonymous

      NAY.

    • http://www.facebook.com/brendan.foehr Brendan Foehr

The future of 80s movies is finally becoming the world of today. Still, gotta roll with the times. I’m embracing the weirdness. I can’t believe it’s 2011, and I can’t believe I’m giving her an IN.

Ehhh…I feel the way I do when my daughter puts unnatural-looking color over her gorgeous natural haircolor.  Wouldn’t choose it for her but she’s young and beautiful, and easily forgiven for some kookiness.

    • Anonymous

Yea, I wish I hadn’t wasted my undergrad years looking all respectable and professional, so I’m all for the young folks taking advantage of their youth to do fun things with their look.  That’s the time to do it because later on it will just look sad.

      • Anonymous

Well said.  I’m ’bout in that “when I’m old I shall wear red and purple” age, and dang, I wore some crazy stuff when I was in my 20′s and glad I did.  Now, they’d just lock me up.

Yea on her, but nay on Becky on PR.

        • Lisa

Yup – I was just a year or two younger than she is now when I rocked blue hair, so I say good for her.  Being young is the time to do it up like this.

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Ebba-Svantesson/1750647220 Ebba Svantesson

      yea

    • Anonymous

YEA. Mine was that color in high school, and she at least plays a high schooler on TV. How many beverages is she actually rocking here?

    • Anonymous

NAY, just because it is badly done.  She needs to take some color cues from the world of Korean Pop idols.  They know how to rock pink hair.  Observe:

      Miss A’s Jia: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_y1IukkD68LQ/TUafjBhJ86I/AAAAAAAABbA/0QIQxjBBEOc/s1600/miss-a-jia.png

    • http://twitter.com/BlixtMe Meredith Blixt

I give her a Yea. I never did get around to doing the purple like I wanted. Maybe this winter…

    • Shona S

I love the hair. I think it’s great when people do something just because they like it or want to take a chance with something different, instead of having their hair decided on by their style consultants. The rest of the outfit is cute too. Love the colours.

    • https://profiles.google.com/104791269167429064986 Judy S

I don’t know who she is. If I saw her on the street I would think, such a pretty girl–why does she do that to her hair? But maybe that’s why.

    • Anonymous

      She’s adorable.
Honestly, her face just needs to stop it.

I don’t care what kind of hair she has; that’s a darling dress.   So cute and young and stylish.   Good shoes too.

did she dye it herself? I think it would look super cute if it had been done well

    • http://penguinonthetelly.com AlannaBennett

It’s obviously for Glee, though, isn’t it? They wouldn’t let her do that RIGHT when they started filming unless it was something the character did.

    • naomi.e

yeah its died like that for a plot line in season 3 of glee

    • Anonymous

I really really like Dianna Agron – she’s obviously only doing Glee for the money, and who can really blame her at this stage. She’s a complete indie chick trapped in a sparkly Lea Michele filled world so whilst I think the pink hair looks a little bit naff (it’s the cut and dark roots showing through), I think she should enjoy her Glee free summer moments while she can. Sure the afore mentioned money doesn’t hurt neither!

    • Katherine Lavender

      Hah! No.

    • Anonymous

IMHO, who the F cares. She can do as she wants in the off season. Today she’s young, famous, tomorrow, people won’t remember who the hell she is. LOL

    • Anonymous

      Yea to the whole look!

    • Anonymous

Yay! She won’t keep it forever … it’s cute and so is she :)

    • http://www.facebook.com/izzzyy Dixie Murphy Ross

YEA. I actually like funky colors. in the right situations they are fun and powerful. If she’d worn this on the RC I may have felt differently, but I think it’s a cute, summery look, right down to the uneven dye job

    • Mariah J

I don’t mind pink hair but this looks like she did it herself in the bathtub, I expect better. NAY

    • http://twitter.com/kmc1138 Kathleen Coyle

I saw some set pics on another site and I’m pretty sure this is a Glee related ‘do.

    • oohsparkley!

If they are trying to make her look younger, then it’s a success.  I think she has a classier look as a blonde.

    • Kelly Broderick

Yea!!!  I love it, but I’m a 30 something who in the last year has rocked pink, purple, blue, and currently bright red/pink.  I am all about unnatural colors and LOVE the idea of a punk Quinn.

    • Anonymous

Pink hair should not be worn after 21. Is she older than 21? I rest my case.
