Game of Thrones and The Killing

Posted on June 21, 2011

Tom was once again flattered to be invited back to the “Ryan and Ryan” podcast with AOLTV’s Mo Ryan and Boob Tube Dude’s Ryan McGee. With the finales of The Killing and Game of Thrones on our mind, three Irish nerds vented about the former and dissected the latter to their hearts’ content. If you often wondered “Hey, does Tom of Tom and Lorenzo sound like a gay cartoon character?” Here’s your answer then. Enjoy.

Will you begin blogging Game of Thrones?  I didn’t want to watch another series but got completely into this one.  I have to read TWOP forum to keep track of the characters and some of the sub plot from the commenters that have read the books.

Would love you take on it!

kmiller, pajiba.com also does faboo recaps.  They’re written very, very well by a guy who really “gets it”  The commenters are a nice mix of readers and non-readers, and they do a really good job of keeping things spoiler-free for those who haven’t read the books yet.  Great site overall.

asoiaf.westeros.org is a massive forum dedicated to the series- it’s a wonderful resource for newbies.  The Martin books are my favorite series, period- they replaced Tolkien for me- and you’ll be astounded at their depth!

I agree, T&L should blog about the TV series!!!  Considering the Mad Men recaps…oh good gravy, it’d be awesome!

Amy, thanks for the blogs!  Checking them out today.  I haven’t read the books but I want to and may buy a Kindle because of this series.

When I first heard about game of Thrones, I thought it would be something I should have read and enjoyed in high school (or maybe junior high)…but, I am now reading the series and enjoying the miniseries, and truly hope they go on to finish making the miniseries with the rest of the books like I heard they were considering…it is a great series and a fun read..also, I hear book 5 is coming out his summer….thanks T LO for being there for the fashionista-nerds in the world…you guys are my favorite….

I can’t run the video and just want to read the comments!  Any possibility?  I was totally bummed by the ending of The Killing S1–no resolution.  GOT is getting interesting!

Wow, congrats Tom! I enjoyed listening to the three Irish nerds dishing and dissecting on the most recent talked about tv shows. My only complaint was that I didn’t get to hear as much from Tom as I would have liked. Still, good on you. T & Lo both rock!

That was so fun to listen to, but I would have liked it better if it was a total TLo podcast, but I will take what I can get! I also learned a few things about Game of Thrones that I missed while watching it, I totally missed the point that Daenerys was immune to fire, duh!, the brother’s melting head! Good thing I only read blogs and don’t have one. So now that The Killing is done, I wonder what summer TV you will be blogging about?

Loved your thoughts and insights on both shows and could not agree with you more.  Would love it if you and Lorenzo did a podcast however I know how time consuming it could be.  Nice to have a voice to go with the name.
Any summer shows you will be blogging about?  Take care :)
